"You Belong Here" on Delaware Avenue
Lexington Church of Christ meets at 230 Delaware Avenue in Lexington, Ohio, where the motto "You Belong Here" is more than a slogan. Lead Minister Brandon Bogue and the congregation describe their mission simply: to share the love of Jesus Christ and help guide others into a growing relationship with Him. The church is an Independent Christian Church fellowship within the Restoration Movement, a stream of faith that has no denominational organization, no central headquarters, and no authority over the independent local congregations that share its name. As the church puts it, members live out their faith as "Christians only, not the only Christians," following the New Testament as their pattern and treating the Bible as the final authority for belief and practice.
Sunday Mornings: Sunday School and Worship
The Sunday rhythm begins at 9:00 AM with Sunday School for every age group. Children can be dropped into classes for Toddlers, Pre-K through 3rd grade, or 4th through 6th grade. Students in 7th through 12th grade meet together, and there is a College & Career class for those who are fresh out of high school or early in their working lives. Two adult classes round out the morning: Seekers, which focuses on the basics of the Christian faith, and Koinonia, which dives deeper into theology. Members occasionally run additional short-term weekday classes on specific topics.
At 10:00 AM the doors open for the main worship service. The sanctuary fills with a blend of classic hymns and newer worship songs, led by a group that plays guitars, piano, violin, cello, and other instruments each week. Every Sunday the church celebrates the Lord's Supper, and Communion is open to anyone who professes faith in Jesus Christ, whether it is a first visit or a longtime practice. A group prayer time follows, and the sermon is Bible-based, aiming to preach the Gospel clearly. Services are also livestreamed on YouTube for those who cannot be there in person.
Kids and Students at LCC
Children have a place of their own throughout the morning. A staffed nursery for children from birth through age two is available so parents can worship with peace of mind. The Kiddos Class welcomes three-year-olds through kindergarten with hands-on, interactive Bible stories, and LCC Kids Worship gathers K through 5th graders during the service for lessons, games, and activities led by caring teachers and helpers. Children are welcome to stay in the sanctuary as well; the church loves the sound of little ones during worship.
Student ministry is led by Youth Minister Brad Green and centers on Thrive, a weekly gathering for 6th through 12th graders held Sundays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Thrive blends high-energy games, a full meal, teaching, and small-group conversation. The goal is to create a Christ-centered community where truth and grace meet, equipping students to grow in faith, build meaningful friendships, and carry hope into their schools and neighborhoods.
Adults: Classes, Breakfasts, and a New Members Path
Beyond Sunday School, adults have several ways to grow together. Men's Breakfast with Chad meets the last Saturday of every month at 9:00 AM in the fellowship hall for food, fellowship, and conversation. Periodically the church hosts a New Members Class, a four-week series that walks through what membership means at LCC, what the church believes, and how to get involved. Past classes have met on Wednesday evenings.
Serving in Mansfield and Beyond
On the second Friday of every month, Mosaic Service Nights send volunteers to serve alongside Mosaic Church in Mansfield, providing a meal for neighbors in need. The church also partners with Tithely for online giving and offers a free RightNow Media account to anyone who wants to take advantage of thousands of Bible studies, lessons, and sermons for every age group.
What LCC Believes
The church teaches belief in one God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - who created all things and made human beings in His image. Jesus Christ is described as God's one and only Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, performed miracles, was crucified, was buried for three days, rose again, and ascended to heaven. Salvation is offered through Jesus alone. The Holy Spirit is at work in the world, bearing witness to salvation and equipping believers with gifts to build up the church. The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is treated as God's Holy Word and the final authority for Christian doctrine. The church is understood as a unified body of believers called to evangelize, disciple, worship, and serve. Baptism is by immersion, given to those who repent and confess belief in Christ, and is seen as an act of obedience rather than a means of salvation.
A Family for Every Generation
Lexington Church of Christ describes its congregation as a multi-generational family, with members ranging from newborns to seniors. Visitors are invited to come as they are, dress in whatever feels comfortable, and stay as long as the doors are unlocked. Tithes and offerings are for those who call LCC home, so a first-time guest is never expected to give. The church's simple promise, summed up in its welcome, is that anyone walking through the doors on Delaware Avenue will find a place to belong.
