A Pentecostal Church in Port Washington
Portview Church meets on County Road LL on the edge of Port Washington, Wisconsin, where the town gives way to the rolling country roads of Ozaukee County. The congregation is affiliated with the Assemblies of God and sits within the Wisconsin/Northern Michigan Ministries Network, the regional body that supports its pastors and missionaries. Members and visitors know the church by two weekly anchors - PV Sundays and PV Wednesdays - and by a steady emphasis on caring for one another that runs through every program on the calendar.
Pastors Who Came Home to Wisconsin
Portview's pastoral story stretches across two continents. Pastors Paul and Christine Pierquet joined Portview in 2022 after seventeen years in Ukraine with Assemblies of God World Missions, where Paul pastored an international church in Kyiv from 2005 to 2021. Paul became Lead Pastor in 2025, and Christine serves as Associate Pastor of Community Life. The couple, originally from Green Bay, describe their return to Wisconsin as a homecoming and speak often about time with family, coffee, and cheering on Wisconsin sports.
Pastor Mark Larson and his wife Suzanne are now Pastor Emeritus at Portview. They came to the church in 2008 after a year with Assemblies of God World Missions in Cambodia and earlier church-planting work in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Beyond Portview, the Larsons serve the Wisconsin/Northern Michigan Ministries Network of the Assemblies of God in Prayer Ministry, leading Silent Prayer Retreats throughout the year. Kris Austin joined the staff in the summer of 2025 as Children's Ministries Director, bringing nearly forty years of experience with children in both Christian and public schools.
PV Sundays: 9:00 AM Worship
Sunday morning at Portview centers on a single 9:00 AM service. Children's ministry runs at the same hour for every age, with check-in at the Early Childhood Check-In Desk before the service begins. Infants through toddlers are cared for in the nursery (birth to 24 months) and the toddler room (2-3 years), preschoolers (4 years through 5K) have their own class, and PV Kids serves first through fifth graders. PV Kids begins in the main service with their families and is released after the worship portion of the morning.
PV Wednesdays: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM
Wednesday nights at Portview are built around the idea that faith is a journey walked together. From 6:30 to 8:00 PM, the church runs four tracks in parallel: adult growth classes, Community Student Ministry (CSM) for students in sixth through twelfth grade, Girls Club and Royal Rangers for children K5 through fifth grade, and an Early Childhood and Nursery program from birth through K4.
CSM is a community youth group open to students from Ozaukee County and beyond, with its own social and registration presence so friends can come along. Girls Club and Royal Rangers give the church's K5 through fifth graders a dedicated time of learning, friendship, and hands-on activities led by experienced leaders. The nursery, toddler, and preschool rooms are staffed by dedicated workers whose goal is to partner with parents as the primary disciplers of their children during the earliest, most formative years.
What the Church Believes
Portview's statement of faith follows the classic contours of the Assemblies of God. The church teaches that the Bible is the inspired and only infallible, authoritative written Word of God; that there is one God eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and that Jesus Christ is fully God, virgin-born, sinless, miracle-working, crucified, risen, ascended, and personally returning. Salvation comes through repentance and faith in the atoning blood of Christ, followed by regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
The church also holds to the distinctive Pentecostal convictions that mark its family of churches: the baptism in the Holy Spirit, available to believers who ask for it; the sanctifying power of the Spirit who indwells the Christian; divine healing provided through the redemptive work of the cross; the rapture of the Church as the blessed hope; water baptism by immersion; and the bodily resurrection of the saved to everlasting life and the lost to eternal separation from God.
The Heart Behind What They Do
Portview summarizes its purpose in five sentences: because they care, they worship God with their lives, connect authentically with people in God's family, reach seekers, grow in Christlikeness, and serve passionately with the love of Jesus. Seven values shape that purpose. The Bible is the foundation, equipping others is the culture, transparency builds trust, the church seeks to be Spirit directed, walking with Jesus is meant to be risky, what God is doing is worth celebrating, and the church aims to stay forward focused.
Connect & Care, Growth Classes, and GO Teams
Beyond the weekly schedule, Portview offers several pathways for getting involved. Connect & Care Groups are small groups built around shared life and shared prayer. Growth Classes are short-term studies designed to help members grow in Christlikeness at any stage of the journey. GO Teams are the church's missions pathway, channeling people toward local outreach and partnerships that support missionaries in the United States and abroad.
Generosity and the Kingdom Builders Fund
Portview practices tithing and offerings as an act of worship, summed up in the phrase "Our First & Our Best." Gifts to the General Fund underwrite the everyday mission and vision of the church, while Kingdom Builders giving supports global and U.S.-based missionaries and strategic projects that share the love of Christ locally and around the world. Giving is available online, and checks made out to Portview Church may be placed in the Sunday offering or mailed to the church office. Questions about non-cash gifts, securities, or contribution statements can be directed to the office by email or phone.
Staying Connected During the Week
Portview maintains a steady online presence beyond its church center platform. Sermons and other audio content are published through Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and a YouTube channel carries video. Facebook and Instagram offer a window into weekly life at the church, and a linkable calendar keeps upcoming events, registrations, and group meetings in one place. The address - 3457 County Road LL, Port Washington, WI 53074 - is the same whether someone is dropping off a child at PV Kids, joining a Wednesday night class, or mailing a gift to the office.
