A 1939 Mission on Painesville-Warren Road
Leroy Community Chapel sits on Painesville-Warren Road in Concord Township, on the eastern edge of Lake County. The congregation was formed in 1939 as a not-for-profit corporation and has gathered on this stretch of road ever since. Its stated mission is to "completely transform our families, community and world into devoted followers of Jesus Christ through the Word of God."
Leroy Community Chapel, often shortened to LCC, is organized as an independent, autonomous and self-governing body. The constitution describes its affiliations as voluntary partnerships with churches of "like faith and practice" to further the cause of Christ. Governance rests with a Board of Elders, supported by a lead pastor and pastoral staff who carry out day-to-day ministry.
Sundays at 10:00 AM
Sunday is built around two anchors: a Family Hour at 9:00 AM and the Corporate Worship Service at 10:00 AM.
During the 9:00 hour, children move into age-specific programming. Children's Church runs from 9:00 to 9:55 AM for kindergarten through grade 5, with stories, crafts, games, songs and snacks. Nursery and Pre-K childcare is available throughout the morning, from 9:00 to 11:20 AM. Adults who want to dig into Scripture attend A.C.E., the Adult Christian Education program, which meets in the sanctuary from 9:00 to 9:45 AM.
At 10:00 AM the whole congregation gathers for the Corporate Worship Service in the Chapel sanctuary. K-5 children begin the hour in the sanctuary with their families and are dismissed at about 10:20 to the kids' wing for Bible-centered lessons tailored to their age.
Worship at LCC is congregational singing led by a worship team that practices Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM and again at 7:30 AM on Sundays. Teaching is built around the Bible as the "greatest source of truth." Services are also livestreamed on YouTube for those who cannot attend in person, and a sermon archive goes back several years.
Kingdom Kids and Unify Students
LCC runs two parallel tracks for younger members.
Kingdom Kids is the umbrella for nursery through fifth grade. Sunday mornings follow the schedule already described: Children's Church at 9:00 AM, sanctuary time with family at 10:00 AM, and a separate kids' wing dismissal at about 10:20 AM. Wednesday nights add three clubs during the school year: GEM for girls in K-5 in the Chapel Kids' Wing, Tree Climbers for boys K-2 and their dads in the Cornerstone, and Stockade for boys in grades 3-5, also in the Cornerstone. All three meet at 6:30 PM. Debby Ulle directs Children's Ministries.
Unify serves students in grades 6 through 12. The flagship gathering is Abide, which takes place on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the Cornerstone Student Center during the school year. Abide includes worship, teaching, small groups and fellowship, with the stated aim of instilling "a love for Christ and His Church in the students of Leroy Community Chapel through consistent discipleship and gospel-based teaching." Joshua Ramirez, Associate Pastor, oversees the ministry. Each student is required to submit a yearly release form covering activities for the ministry year.
Mid-Week Ministries on the Chapel and Cornerstone Campuses
Wednesday night is a working evening at LCC. Mid-Week Ministries run from 6:30 to 8:00 PM and bring together several groups on the same night: Abide for students, Boys Club for children, Connections for women, GEM for girls K-5, and a Men's Bible Study. The shared schedule lets families arrive once and find a program for nearly every age.
Three separate Bible studies for men meet during the September-to-May season: a Wednesday study at the Chapel from 6:30 to 8:00 PM (focusing on the Gospel of Mark), a Friday study at 6:00 AM at Quail Hollow Golf Club, and a Saturday study at 6:30 AM at the Chapel. No registration is required.
Women's ministry, called Connections, also meets Wednesdays at 6:30 PM at the Chapel, with Bible and book studies, teaching and fellowship. Lauren Aey directs Connections, with Kaari Schroeder as co-director.
Life Groups, A.C.E., and Discipleship for Adults
Beyond Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, LCC encourages adults to join a Life Group. Life Groups meet about every two weeks to pray, study the Word, fellowship, serve and care for one another. The stated goal is "life change through discipleship" - being increasingly conformed to the image of Christ through close, committed relationships.
A.C.E. (Adult Christian Education) meets Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 9:45 AM in the Chapel sanctuary. Various teachers within the congregation lead sessions on biblical passages, topics and book studies aimed at helping believers understand the relevance and application of God's Word today.
Other adult discipleship options are Champions (a ministry listed alongside Students and Children for stages of life), and prayer and care pathways that run through the church office and elder board.
Missions Near and Far
Mission giving is woven into the life of the church. The constitution specifies that if LCC ever dissolves, its property and assets would be distributed among the missionaries it currently supports on monthly support, "with the intent that said missionaries receive their support in ministry for up to four years."
Current mission partners include:
- Dave and Ginger Muchmore, who began working in Haiti with Crossworld Mission in 1981 and now serve primarily stateside while their daughter Judy and her husband Manis remain in ministry in Haiti.
- Courtnee White, who has moved into the Administration of Transformational Prayer.
- Rod and Mayra Fry, church planting in Mexico City since 1997 and currently developing their third plant in Ixtapaluca.
- Project Hope for the Homeless, a Northeast Ohio shelter that has helped about 10,000 children and adults since 1993, with 76 percent of guests transitioning to housing or treatment within an average of 31 days.
- Hannah's Home, a local pregnancy and parenting resource. LCC was recognized in 2025 as the largest church contributor to its Baby Bottle Campaign.
- John and Sue Cutlip, missionaries with Open Air Campaigners in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, sharing the gospel in public spaces.
- International Justice Mission, a global organization working to protect people in poverty from violence across 20 countries.
- Lake County Jail Ministry, which LCC supports through funding, visitation, discipleship and volunteers. Elder Tom Chapman previously served the organization as Chaplain for 25 years.
- Mike and Becky Crandall, serving with Cru Ministries in Orlando, focused on university students.
- Dave and Jen Carroll, who have ministered in Uganda for the past 28 years and are well known at LCC.
Statement of Faith
LCC's Statement of Faith is built on eight articles.
The church holds to the verbal plenary inspiration of the original-language Scriptures as the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. It teaches one God eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - with Jesus Christ as the promised Son of God, born of the virgin Mary, living a sinless life, crucified as a sacrificial substitute, raised from the dead, ascended to the Father's right hand and personally returning in power and glory.
Salvation is described as the gift of God brought by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Through Christ, the guilty is declared not guilty, the believer is sanctified and eternally kept by God. The church looks to the return of Christ for judgment, the resurrection of all people, eternal life for believers and everlasting punishment for the unpersecuted.
The Church is commissioned to "preach the gospel to every creature" and "make disciples of all nations." LCC celebrates two ordinances: baptism, as a symbol of cleansing and new identity, and the Lord's Supper, as a symbol of commitment to the work of redemption.
The constitution's Article IX, on gender, marriage and sexuality, teaches that God creates human beings as male or female in His image, that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage. LCC only conducts or hosts marriages that fit this definition.
Leadership at LCC
Jeff Pierce serves as Lead Pastor and Joshua Ramirez as Associate Pastor. Debby Ulle directs Children's Ministries, and Tabitha Hiltner serves as Office Ministries Director.
The Board of Elders includes Matt Sleek as Head Elder (2023-2026), Andy Brown (2024-2027), Chuck Tribuzzo (2024-2027), Tucker Barlow (2025-2028) and John Baron (2026-2029). Carolyn Remington serves as Finance & Facilities Coordinator, Sophia Suggs as Graphic Designer & Office Administrative Assistant, Doug Love on the Facilities team, and Tucker Barlow as IT Manager.
Worship Style and Facilities
The main campus on Painesville-Warren Road consists of two buildings. The Cornerstone, the first building on the right when entering from the road, holds the main office and the Youth Room. The larger Chapel, set further back, is where worship services are held and where A.C.E. and many adult ministries meet.
Visitors are welcomed by the Welcome Team, which staffs the main entrance doors and a Welcome Center desk in the foyer. Coffee is offered and questions are answered before and after the service.
Giving and Getting Connected
Giving can be done in person by cash or check at a drop-off location in the back of the sanctuary, online through an electronic giving platform, or by mail to the church office. First-time visitors are not expected to give.
Beyond the pews, getting connected runs through several paths: a guest form online, baptism sign-up, a prayer request form, a Life Group interest form, a baptism inquiry and a "Story" form for sharing a personal journey. The church also gathers each week online through its livestream and maintains a sermon archive going back to the summer of 2026, with services available on YouTube.
