International Gospel Outreach Church and Ministry Training Center has called Smyrna, Georgia home since 1985, when Australian-born Robin Hancox and his wife Cheryl moved to Atlanta and planted what would become a spirit-filled congregation. Tucked into a corporate plaza on the east side of Smyrna, IGO Church gathers Sunday mornings for live worship, dynamic preaching, and an atmosphere Senior Pastor Robin Hancox describes as "continually charged with the presence of God."
A Ministry Planted in 1985
Robin and Cheryl Hancox arrived in the Atlanta area in 1985 and established IGO Church with a clear vision: to create "a place where folks could find God without excuses." The couple, both originally from Australia, has shepherded the congregation for more than three decades. Pastor Robin's earlier evangelistic work took him to the Philippines and beyond before the focus settled on Smyrna, and what began as a small gathering has grown into a church and ministry training center bearing both names. The "Ministry Training Center" portion of the name reflects IGO's commitment to equipping believers for practical Christian work, not just Sunday attendance.
The Spirit-Filled Focus
IGO teaches a deliberately simple, present-day faith. "We focus on the now rather than a historic study of the yesterdays of the Bible," the church explains. Worship at IGO blends praise and worship, preaching, and what the congregation calls a refreshing atmosphere - a charismatic expression of Christian faith that leans on the Holy Spirit for both comfort and challenge. The church maintains a strong emphasis on prophetic scripture, with Pastor Robin's teaching preparing "remnant believers for the work of the ministry" before the return of Christ. IGO holds to the truth that "the truth shall make you free," quoting John 8:32 as a ministry touchstone.
Sunday in Smyrna
Sunday mornings begin with an in-person service at 10:30 a.m. at IGO's home on Corporate Plaza Parkway SE. A livestream follows at 11 a.m. for those joining from home, hosted on YouTube and through the church's online broadcast page, where a sermon archive is also available. The Smyrna address is 2250 Corporate Plaza Parkway SE, Suite 101, Smyrna, GA 30080. The service is structured around praise and worship, the preaching of the Word, and what the church calls a continual awareness of the Holy Spirit's presence.
Books, Broadcasts, and a Wider Reach
Pastor Robin is also an author. His published works include "The Inner Voice of the Deceiver," "Destiny Robbers...How to Redeem Your God Ordained Destiny," and "The Trap of Offense...(Why offended folks fail God.)" Outside the pulpit, he is an instrument-rated pilot who enjoys flying and time spent near the ocean, interests he and Cheryl share together.
IGO has extended its reach into secular media, using video and broadcast platforms to share testimonies of healing, deliverance, and freedom from financial and emotional bondage. The church frames this work as confronting "evil on every front" through the preaching of the gospel in Smyrna and around the world. IGO supports international missions, and a Q&A feature invites visitors to submit questions directly to Pastor Robin about prophecy, the end times, and Christian living.
