Rooted on Richmond Avenue Since 1982
International Christian Center sits on Richmond Avenue in the heart of Staten Island, a New York City borough the church has called home since 1982. With the motto "Reaching the City and Touching the World for Jesus," ICC runs three Sunday morning services in English, a Friday night gathering, and a growing Spanish-speaking ministry called ICC Ministerio Hispano. From its Central campus on Richmond Avenue and a North Shore location on Broad Street, the church has become one of the borough's most visible Pentecostal congregations, livestreaming services each week and sending mission teams as far as Romania and Mexico.
Services in English and Spanish
ICC Central, the main campus at 1501 Richmond Avenue, holds three Sunday morning services at 8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 12:00 p.m., along with a Friday night service at 7:30 p.m. A Spanish-language congregation meets on Sundays as well. ICC Ministerio Hispano gathers at 2:00 p.m. at the Central campus and at 6:00 p.m. at the North campus at 175 Broad Street. ICC also livestreams its weekly services online, and giving is available online through Pushpay, with separate giving pages for the English and Spanish congregations.
What ICC Believes
ICC preaches what its leaders describe as a Bible-centered message. The church holds that the Old and New Testaments are "verbally inspired by God," the only written revelation from God to humanity, and the infallible and authoritative rule of faith and conduct. From Acts 4:12 and John 14:6, ICC teaches that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone. From Matthew 28:18-20, the church takes its marching orders to make disciples, baptize, and teach. Services are marked by an expectation that the Holy Spirit is at work; the church describes its mission as being "led and empowered by the Holy Spirit," and weekly gatherings are framed around proclaiming the Gospel and seeing lives changed.
A Pastoral Team Led by the Squibbs
Lead Pastors Ronald and Emma Squibb oversee the congregation. Spanish ministry is led by Pastors Ricardo and Carmen Cruz. Children's ministry is in the hands of Janet Cruz-Diaz, who serves as Children's Pastor, while Sammy and Darlene Cruz pastor the youth and young adult ministries. Precious Sterling leads Women's Ministry, and Willie Morales leads the Men's Ministry under the banner "Man of Faith." Lyndsey and Amy Martinez direct the Marriage Ministry, Shanika Robinson serves as Ministry Advancement Coordinator, and Samuel Owusu-Sekyere directs the Bridge Group.
Kids, Youth, and Young Adults
ICC runs age-specific ministries for nearly every stage of family life. ICC Kids provides a place for children to learn Scripture through engaging lessons in a safe environment. ICC Youth is built around helping teenagers form authentic relationships while finding their identity in Christ. ICC Young Adults gathers college-age and twenty-something members of the church to navigate the transitions of early adulthood under biblical teaching. Each program is staffed by a dedicated pastor or director.
Men, Women, Marriage, and the Bridge
Adult ministry at ICC is built around a handful of focused communities. Men's Ministry, branded "Man of Faith," meets as its own ministry with its own events. Women's Ministry is led by Precious Sterling, and the Spanish Women's Ministry is led by Carmen Cruz. Marriage Ministry is led by a husband-and-wife team, Lyndsey and Amy Martinez. The Bridge Group, directed by Samuel Owusu-Sekyere, offers another smaller community within the larger church. Together these ministries give adults several paths into closer fellowship.
School of the Spirit and Next Steps
A signature teaching ministry is the ICC School of the Spirit with Pastor Ron, a recurring Wednesday evening class running from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ICC also runs First Step Classes for newcomers interested in learning the basics of church membership and faith. Recurring weekly groups include Grief Share, which meets Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. for those walking through loss, and Crochet and Knitting, a Saturday morning gathering held 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. that doubles as fellowship. Water Baptism services are scheduled periodically and require a prerequisite class beforehand.
Missions Beyond Staten Island
Although the church calls Staten Island home, ICC is committed to a wider geography. Members gather for a Mexico Missions Trip mandatory meeting and a Romania Missions Trip informational meeting, organizing short-term outreach trips in addition to local work. ICC also runs Kingdom Builders, a community-building initiative that includes an evening gathering called Kingdom Kafe and a fall Kingdom Builders Banquet held off-site on Staten Island. The church supports its missionaries and outreach projects through online giving.
