A Small Congregation on Laskey Road
Fairgreen Presbyterian Church sits at 3220 W Laskey Road on the north side of Toledo, a single-story building with a parking lot off Fairgreen Drive in the rear. The congregation is small but steady, shaped by its Reformed Presbyterian identity and by a steady rhythm of hospitality and outreach that has made Carol's Cupboard food pantry and the Blessing Boutique known throughout the neighborhood.
Sunday Mornings at Ten
Worship begins at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday in a sanctuary that the church describes as designed to create a spiritual environment and bring out the best in those who gather. The Bible is central to the preaching, and the goal is to make the Good News accessible and practical for daily living as well as for eternal outlook. A fellowship time with refreshments follows the service, giving the congregation a chance to build community over coffee and conversation. The service is also livestreamed on YouTube for those who cannot attend in person.
Wednesday Afternoons in the Lounge
On Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m., the church opens its lounge for Bible study. All are welcome, and the gathering has the feel of a long-running small group rather than a lecture, a chance to work through Scripture together in the middle of the week.
Carol's Cupboard and the Blessing Boutique
Outreach is at the heart of Fairgreen's life. Carol's Cupboard, the church's Feed Your Neighbor Food Pantry, distributes food on a regular schedule, and a photo ID is all that is needed to receive help. Alongside the pantry, the Blessing Boutique offers free clothing to anyone in the community who needs it.
These two ministries anchor a wider mission effort that includes Matthew 25 Outreach, support for homeless shelters, a community garage sale, an annual women's retreat, and the seasonal Christmas Wonderland project. A Congregational Life Committee helps coordinate the many volunteer hands that keep these programs running.
A Statement of the Reformed Faith
Fairgreen describes its Presbyterian identity as a way of being Christian, grounded in the Reformed tradition and guided by the Holy Spirit. The church's own creed puts it plainly: it believes that Jesus Christ calls each person by name and that, through the Holy Spirit, believers receive salvation, peace, forgiveness, and healing. In response to Christ's love and sacrifice, the congregation seeks to be Christ to the stranger, to live a life of prayer, to learn from God's Word, to serve neighbors as themselves, and to share Christ as a friend. The Good News, the creed affirms, is not just for the congregation but for all of God's children, in all places, for all time.
Visiting Fairgreen
First-time guests enter from Fairgreen Drive and park in the lot behind the church, where handicap-accessible spaces are available. There is no dress code; the simple invitation is to come as you are. The building is handicap accessible, and a fellowship time after worship offers a natural place to meet members over refreshments.
Supporting the Work
Donations can be dropped off in person during a service or at the office. Online giving is available, including through Zelle using the church's email address and through bank bill pay set up with the church as the vendor.
