A Family Church on San Marcos Boulevard
Greater Emmanuel Grace Apostolic Church stands on West San Marcos Boulevard on Tucson's west side, a Pentecostal house of worship in Pima County. The church describes itself as a family church proclaiming that Jesus is God and teaching that all must be baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the Holy Ghost. Greater Emmanuel Grace is a church that loves everyone, the rich, the poor, and the brokenhearted, full of praise, faith, and hope.
An Apostolic Faith
The congregation holds to classic apostolic doctrine. Members believe that a person must be born again of water and Spirit to enter the Kingdom of God, and that salvation comes through godly sorrow, baptism in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins, and the gift of the Holy Ghost. From there, believers strive to live free from sin. The church also points to the scripture that calls the saints to lift up their hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord, an invitation echoed at every gathering.
Sunday Mornings at the Church
Sunday morning worship begins at 10:30 AM. Christian Education for adults and elementary children meets at 9:30 AM each Sunday, with young adults and toddlers joining in person on the first and second Sundays of the month.
Bible Class and Prayer Through the Week
Bible Class gathers on Wednesday at 7 PM, with the first Wednesday of each month held in person and the remaining Wednesdays meeting over Zoom. Prayer continues on Thursday at 7 PM on Zoom, and on the first Saturday of each month the church gathers in person for prayer at 9 AM.
Pastors Leading the Congregation
Bishop Arthur L. Pierce serves as Senior Pastor, supported by Associate Pastors Pastor Gayle Younger, Pastor Cynthia Henry, and Pastor Marshall Gantt II. Lady Lorraine Pierce serves as Assistant Pastor and leads the Women's Ministry. Pastor Kevra Rich serves as Executive Pastor and Minister of Music.
Ministries for Every Age
Six ministries shape the life of the church. The Men's Ministry is led by Pastor Marshall Gantt II, and the Women's Ministry is led by First Lady Lorraine Pierce, who hosts periodic conferences and ongoing updates for women in the congregation. The Music Ministry, led by Minister of Music Pastor Kevra Rich, brings together the choir under Choir President Pastor Gayle Pierce-Younger, Praise and Worship Leader Sister Taiylore Younger, Music Director Brother DeMarques Wilson, and a Choir Assistant.
The Youth Ministry is led by Brother DeMarques Wilson, and the Christian Education Department is led by Superintendent Elder Darrie Phelps, grounded in the conviction of holding high esteem for God, for the Church, and sensing the need for a life experience of God through growth, maturity, and opportunity for service through knowledge toward Jesus Christ. The Usher Board, led by Sister Sharon Harris, supports worship services week by week.
Music at the Heart of Worship
The music ministry exists to glorify God, to let God speak to the congregation, and to edify one another, guided by a written code of conduct. Praise and worship carries an expressive, hands-raised style, with singers and musicians drawn from the choir.
Staying Connected and Giving
The church shares updates on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, and sermons and music are available on its YouTube channel. Online giving is available through Givelify, and event registration runs through Tithe.ly.
