A Church on South Mission Road
Victory Outreach Tucson gathers on the south side of Tucson, Arizona, at 3999 South Mission Road. Pastored by Sal and Laura Perez, the church is part of Victory Outreach International, a worldwide ministry that began in 1967 when Sonny and Julie Arguinzoni started reaching out to people struggling with addiction and brokenness in East Los Angeles. From those humble beginnings, the ministry has grown into an international network of churches, rehabilitation homes, and training centers, all oriented around what the organization calls a message of hope and plan of Jesus Christ.
Sunday Mornings and Wednesday Nights
The church gathers for worship every Sunday at 9:45 AM and again on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 PM. Both services include children's ministry, so families can come together. The address is 3999 South Mission Road in Tucson, and the church can be reached at 520-623-7270 or votucsonaz@aol.com. Office hours run from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The mailing address is 220 West Prince Road in Tucson.
Pastors Sal and Laura Perez
Pastors Sal and Laura Perez have been in ministry together for 28 years, with 25 of those years spent serving the city of Tucson. They have been involved with Victory Outreach for more than 34 years. Pastor Sal is a graduate of the Victory Education Training Institute and a licensed minister certified in religious studies. He is also a well-known gospel recording artist whose testimony travels through word and song to audiences across the United States and abroad.
The couple loves to meet the needs of the people in the city of Tucson. From the homeless, to the addict, to the young person or the broken family, Pastors Sal and Laura serve each and every person out of a genuine and unconditional love of Jesus Christ. They are particularly passionate about working with couples and families, restoring and strengthening bonds that have been tested by life's struggles.
A Mission of Hope
Victory Outreach describes itself as an international church oriented Christian ministry called to the task of evangelizing and discipling the hurting people of the world with a message of hope and plan of Jesus Christ. That call, the organization teaches, involves planting and developing churches, rehabilitation homes, and training centers in strategic cities around the world. The goal is to inspire and instill within people the desire to fulfill their potential in life with a sense of dignity, belonging, and destiny. Throughout the years, Victory Outreach has striven for excellence, reorganizing its corporate structure to facilitate growth and providing ongoing training for its pastoral staff.
G.A.N.G.: Reaching the Next Generation
Children from birth through age ten join the G.A.N.G. ministry, an acronym for God's Anointed Now Generation. The church invests in every child who walks into the classroom, believing each one is the future and legacy. Each class offers fun, age-appropriate biblical teaching. The children's program is available at every weekly service, giving parents a chance to invest in their child's spiritual growth at the same time they worship.
Tucson X and Third Wave Wednesday
For students and young adults, the church runs Tucson X, a ministry dedicated to developing the personal lives of young people. The program reaches a wide spectrum of young people, from urban youth to church kids, all unified under a shared vision. The young people of Victory Outreach focus on evangelism, Bible study, and prayer, and the zeal that flows from their gatherings tends to draw others in. Midweek, Third Wave Wednesday brings the same generation together around the meaning behind their name: God's Anointed Now Generation.
L.I.F.E. Groups Across Tucson
L.I.F.E. Groups are the church's small-group ministry, meeting in various locations around the city. The four pillars of the ministry are building relationships within the local church, learning the Word of God, discovering spiritual gifts, and finding a place to serve. L.I.F.E. Groups give people a way to connect beyond the Sunday gathering and grow together in faith through shared study and fellowship.
Men and Women in Ministry
Victory Outreach Tucson's men's ministry challenges men from every walk of life to reach their full potential in Jesus Christ. The ministry gathers through men's breakfasts, prayer groups, and informal times of conversation over coffee. Its goal is to instill the qualities that shape godly men in the home, the community, the church, and wherever God calls them. Friendships formed through the ministry come with a purpose.
The women's ministry, known locally as #UWIM Tucson (United Women In Ministry), carries the same call as the broader Victory Outreach United Women In Ministry International. The ministry works to evangelize and disciple, to train, develop, inspire, and instill within women the desire to fulfill their potential in life with dignity, belonging, and destiny. It also serves as a financial support base for world missions and partners with the international vision of Victory Outreach.
Victory Home: A Year-Long Path to Recovery
Victory Home is a Christian recovery home sponsored by Victory Outreach Tucson. It is a live-in, twelve-month Christian care home for adult men aged 18 and older who are dealing with drug or alcohol problems. The program is designed to reclaim, redeem, and restore lives that have been consumed by addiction or other substance abuse. Rather than relying on clinical treatment, Victory Home draws on the Word of God, prayer, and positive decision-making to walk residents through a journey of change.
Each Victory Outreach Recovery Home is free of charge and operates without government funding, relying solely on the support of the local community. Residents live in a 24-hour home environment for the entire year. The Tucson home is located at 220 West Prince Road and can be reached at 520-690-0596.
Rooted in Tucson, Connected to the World
From Sunday worship on Mission Road to Wednesday evenings and the work of Victory Home on Prince Road, Victory Outreach Tucson carries a vision that began in East Los Angeles in 1967 and now reaches into cities around the world. In Tucson, that vision takes shape through the leadership of Sal and Laura Perez, a committed congregation, and ministries that reach across generations, from infants in G.A.N.G. classrooms to men rebuilding their lives at Victory Home.
