Crosspoint Church sits on South Stonebridge Drive in the Stonebridge Ranch master-planned community of McKinney, Texas, where it has ministered since 1996. Known locally for its NextGen focus, its weekday preschool, and a GLOCAL missions footprint that reaches from McKinney's food pantries to the Amazon basin, the church runs two Sunday morning services and a full slate of midweek gatherings for the whole family.
Three Decades on Stonebridge Drive
Crosspoint began in 1996 as Stonebridge Drive Baptist Church and took its current name to express a simple conviction: that the most meaningful life is found where God's story and an individual's story intersect. The church celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2026 with a six-week sermon series looking back at heritage, people, leadership, faithfulness, impact, and future. Mark Turman, the church's inaugural pastor, returned to preach the message on leadership.
Crosspoint is a Southern Baptist congregation that aligns its Statement of Faith with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. It is affiliated with the Collin Baptist Association, and its preschool uses the Baptist Way Press Curriculum. The church is governed by a team of elders, currently Tom Austin, Mike Gandy, Ross Gillispie, Randy Masey, and Kyle Wilson, who serve alongside Senior Pastor Daniel Messina and the rest of the pastoral staff.
Sunday Mornings: Worship and LIFE Groups
Two identical service hours run on Sunday morning at 9:15 AM and 10:45 AM, with the earlier service also livestreamed on the church's YouTube channel. Each gathering lasts 65 to 70 minutes and follows a familiar arc: praise songs, a brief greeting time, a Bible-saturated message, and a closing set of songs. Communion is observed on the fourth Sunday of each month.
Concurrent with each service hour, Crosspoint runs its on-campus LIFE Groups, the church's equivalent of Sunday School. Groups are sorted by life stage and meet in various rooms around the campus; additional LIFE Groups meet off campus during the week in homes across the area. LIFE Groups are described by the church as the primary place where community, friendship, and spiritual growth happen.
What a First-Time Visitor Finds
Crosspoint suggests arriving 10 to 15 minutes early, especially for families who need to check children into the Children's Building, which sits across from the Main Building. The worship center is set up to let guests choose a seat where they feel most comfortable. Service hosts are stationed around the building to help newcomers find classrooms, the nursing mother room (room 104), and other spaces.
Children from birth through pre-K receive care during both service hours. Children in kindergarten through 5th grade are encouraged to join their families in worship during either hour they attend and then to join the grade-appropriate LIFE Group when their parents head to theirs. Sixth through 12th graders worship with their families and then move to Studio 412, directly behind the Main Building, for age-specific LIFE Groups from 10:45 to 11:45 AM.
NextGen: Kids, Students, and the 2050 Vision
Crosspoint organizes its ministry to children and students under a single NextGen banner, with a long-horizon goal: kids and students are to love and live for Jesus in the year 2050 and beyond.
Children's ministry, led by Children's Ministry Director Lindsey Deitch and Elementary Coordinator Ashleigh Ruzicka, runs in the Children's Building during both Sunday services for birth through 5th grade. Infants and toddlers receive individualized attention, including feeding schedules and regular diaper changes; the church is sensitive to allergies, food sensitivities, and other needs. The Pathway midweek program runs on Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7:45 PM for kindergarten through 5th grade, with grade-specific Bible teaching, memory verse drills, and game time. Children earn "Pathway Bucks" for verses memorized and spend them at the Pathway store on store nights; free pizza is served. Childcare for 0-5 year olds is provided during the same hour so parents can attend an adult study.
Student ministry, directed by Sam Kaestner, walks 6th through 12th graders through a Belong, Believe, Become curriculum. Wednesday nights bring 6:00 to 6:30 PM pre-party (pizza and snacks in the cafe), followed by large-group teaching and small-group time from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Sunday morning LIFE Groups in Studio 412 combine large-group teaching with same-grade, same-gender small group breakouts. Periodic D Groups run at various points during the school year for students who want a deeper dive into Scripture. The student ministry also runs an annual Carpe Diem winter retreat and a summer camp, along with mission trips.
Wednesday Nights Around the Table
During the school year, Wednesday nights at Crosspoint function as a one-stop evening of studies for the whole family. Adults pick from three tracks at 6:30 PM: a women's Bible study (a daytime 9:30 AM option is also offered), a men's Bible study, and a combined discipleship study. Couples can enroll in ReEngaged, a marriage enrichment class, at 6:15 PM. On the first Wednesday of every month, the church gathers for Prayer Night from 6:00 to 6:30 PM before the studies begin.
Women's Ministry and MOMCo
Crosspoint Women offers one-day events, months-long Bible studies, and ongoing prayer groups designed for women in every season of life. The ministry also runs Selah Sessions, an informal discussion-based circle built around the prayers of the saints, with multiple days and times available. A monthly Bunco Night provides fellowship off the Bible-study track.
For mothers of young children, the church hosts MOMCo (formerly MOPS), a non-profit program that meets the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month from 9:30 to 11:45 AM. Each meeting includes coffee, a potluck breakfast, a craft, a speaker, a devotion, and table discussion with a mentor mom assigned to each group. Childcare is provided for children from birth through age five. The 2026-2027 season runs from August 28, 2026, to April 23, 2027, under the year's theme, Good Company.
Men's Ministry
Men of Crosspoint gather on Friday mornings at 6:30 AM at Market Street in McKinney for Bible study, currently working through the book Inexpressible: Hesed and the Mystery of God's Lovingkindness. A monthly men's breakfast is held on the second Saturday of each month at 7:30 AM in Studio 412. The Wednesday night men's Bible study adds a third touchpoint during the week.
Marriage Ministry
Crosspoint's marriage ministry is built around the conviction that marriage is a biblical institution established by God between one man and one woman, as the church's bylaws state. Its vision is to cultivate, strengthen, and celebrate the covenant of marriage in the life of the church. The ReEngaged Wednesday night class is the ministry's flagship offering. The ministry also promotes marriage retreats such as FamilyLife's Weekend to Remember, the Love Like You Mean It cruise, and Blended and Blessed, and points couples to outside resources including FamilyLife Today, Authentic Intimacy, and the Family Life podcast.
Missions: Local and Global
Crosspoint uses the word GLOCAL to describe its combined focus on local and global outreach. The church sends short-term teams each year to partners around the world. In 2026, trips were scheduled to Camaguey, Cuba; Campo Bom, Brazil; Romania and Hungary; Lima, Peru; and Osaka, Japan. Each trip has a designated contact and commitment deadline.
On the home front, Crosspoint supports a wide network of McKinney-area ministries. Longtime partners include the McKinney Food Pantry, Community Lifeline, Direction 61:3 (foster and aged-out youth), Habitat for Humanity of Collin County, Hope Women's Center, One Heart McKinney, Naomi Press Elementary School (through McKinney ISD REACH mentoring and STEM mentoring), Shiloh Place (for single mothers), and Texans on Mission (formerly Texas Baptist Men). Crosspoint's missions ministry equips members with branded "service shirts" so members are easily recognized during community projects and operates a volunteer elementary mentoring program in partnership with local schools.
Crosspoint Clubhouse Preschool
Crosspoint runs its own weekday preschool for children ages 1 through 5, called the Crosspoint Clubhouse. The school operates Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the McKinney ISD calendar, with the school year beginning after Labor Day and ending before Memorial Day. The program weaves Christian values through school-wide monthly themes, Bible characters, art, dramatic play, music, science/nature, and group time. Students age two and up receive weekly art and Bible classes, and children age three and older attend a weekly chapel. Two school-wide programs each year, one at Christmas and one in the spring, are held in the main Worship Center. Director Jillian Laatsch oversees the program; teachers are trained in child development, safety, CPR, first aid, and creative teaching.
Lifelong Family Support
Crosspoint maintains a parent resource page built around 3 John 1:4 ("I have no greater joy than to hear of my children walking in the truth"). It offers a Family Support Toolkit, free Phase Profile Cards available on the Family Resource Wall in the lobby of the Main Building, and recommended reading and podcasts across topics including parenting through different ages, special needs, technology use, and discipline. The recommended resources include books from authors such as Matt Chandler, Sissy Goff, Jana Magruder, Melissa Kruger, and Paul David Tripp, alongside podcasts like Raising Boys and Girls, Pardon the Mess, the Family Discipleship Podcast, and the Connected Families podcast.
What Crosspoint Believes
Crosspoint's Statement of Faith follows the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. The church teaches that God exists eternally as three co-equal persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - who together are one God; that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the sacrifice for sin, rose again physically, and will return to reign as King of Kings; and that the Holy Spirit lives in every believer from salvation, giving spiritual gifts and power for daily living. The Bible is treated as God's Word, written under the Spirit's guidance and without error in its truth.
Salvation is a free gift received by faith in Jesus Christ, not earned by self-improvement or works. Those who genuinely trust Christ are eternally secure in that salvation, held by God's grace and power. Each person is created to exist forever, either eternally separated from God in Hell or eternally in union with God through forgiveness and salvation.
Getting Connected: Entry Point, Text Codes, and the App
Crosspoint runs an Entry Point class several times a year for newcomers and prospective members, covering the church's vision, mission, and culture; its statement of faith; the three essential functions of the church (Glorify, Grow, and Go); and what membership involves. Childcare and lunch are provided. The class typically meets on a Sunday from 11:45 AM to 1:30 PM in rooms 203/204.
For those who prefer texts, the church operates a keyword system: texting NEW to 79717 connects you with the church, PRAY submits a prayer request, FAMILY registers for Entry Point, LIFE points you toward a LIFE Group, BAPTISM begins the baptism process, and GIVE walks you through online giving. Codes for men, women, and missions are also available. The Crosspoint McKinney app, available on the Apple App Store, carries devotionals and church news. Members also have free access to Right Now Media, a streaming library of Bible-study videos.

Daniel Messina serves as Senior Pastor and oversees the team. David Jordan is Executive Pastor; David Parmar leads Discipleship; Tyler Frank oversees NextGen across kids, students, and preschool.
