A Pentecostal Home on West 18th and in Junction City
Willamette Christian Center has been part of the Eugene community since 1941 and now extends a welcome into two places at once. The Eugene Campus sits at 2500 W 18th Avenue, on the corner of 18th and Hawkins, and the Junction City Campus meets at 1080 Laurel Street. Sunday mornings begin at 10:00 AM in both rooms, and the service is also carried online so that friends near and far can worship together.
Come as You Are
The church describes itself as a casual, welcoming environment where a person can come relaxed or dressed up, with anything from flip-flops to a suit. Many people arrive thirty to sixty minutes early to grab a drink from Buna Cafe, where complimentary coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and pastries are served. Newcomers are guests of the house, though donations are welcome. Kids check-in opens at 9:45 AM for the Sunday program.
Worship at Willamette is led by rotating teams of musicians. The church invites people to lift their hands, sit, stand, or clap - whatever feels right - and frames the gathering as a place to worship together. Each service carries a Biblically focused, practical teaching that the church hopes helps listeners discover a relationship with God and build a lifestyle of spiritual growth.
The Next Generation: Kids, Students, and College
Willamette invests heavily in children, students, and young adults, calling them "an essential part of the Church today," not just its future. The Kids Ministry serves birth through 5th grade on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM in both campuses, with lessons built around Bible verses, Bible points, and stories reinforced through activities. A mid-week program for kids four years old through 5th grade meets on the Eugene Campus on Wednesdays; dinner is at 6:00 PM and the gathering runs 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the A and B Wings, entered through the Cross.
Student Ministry gathers middle and high schoolers (grades 6 through 12) on Wednesday evenings at the Eugene Campus. Dinner is at 6:00 PM and the gathering runs 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the B Wing. The mission is to make fully devoted followers of Christ in age-appropriate ways.
For college students, a team from Willamette is connected with Chi Alpha at the University of Oregon. The group worships together on Thursdays at 7:00 PM in Anstett 195, with small groups, friendship, and faith at the center.
Groups and Classes Through the Week
Beyond Sunday services, the church runs a wide menu of weekly gatherings. Celebrate Recovery meets Thursdays at 6:00 PM on the Junction City Campus as a safe place to find community and freedom from hurts, habits, and hangups. Wednesdays at 6:30 PM host a trio of groups on the Eugene Campus: a Young Families community for parents of toddlers and teens, a Grief Share group for those walking through loss, and a Women's Bible Study. Small groups meet at various times throughout the week, in homes and on campus, for community and faith growth.
The Willamette Pathway
The church offers a clear next-step track it calls the Willamette Pathway. A Welcome Party happens on the first Sunday of every month after the service, with food, fun, and a relaxed environment where newcomers can meet the pastor and team and hear the heart and vision of the church. The Discovery Workshop runs four times a year in two parts, meeting in the Church Office Living Room on the Eugene Campus, with a spiritual growth assessment and a personal mission map. Grow + Serve gathers four times a year around culture, community, and commissioning, including prayer and anointing nights, vision-sharing potlucks, volunteer appreciation, and team trainings. New Builders, the path to ownership and leadership, meets three times a year in February, August, and September.
What Willamette Believes
Willamette Christian Center holds to the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God. At the core: one God who exists in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - infinite, eternal, and all-powerful. Jesus is the eternal Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, died on a cross to pay the penalty that separated humanity from God, and rose again to reconcile people to their Creator. The Holy Spirit is given to every follower of Christ to guide, comfort, convict, and adopt them into God's family, and the baptism in the Holy Spirit is part of God's plan for every Christian, bringing spiritual gifts and power for witness and service.
The Bible, composed of 66 books written over thousands of years by dozens of authors, is described as the authoritative and inspired Word of God, telling one seamless story of redemption. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus' sacrifice, which is also described as the means by which divine healing is made available as an integral part of the gospel. The Church is the Body of Christ, with Jesus as its head, called to glorify God, make disciples, and meet the needs of the world, including through water baptism and communion. The church looks to the return of Christ, a final judgment, and eternal life with God for those who have accepted Christ.
