A Home Fellowship on Oak Glen Road
Wildwood Calvary Chapel sits along Oak Glen Road on the edge of Yucaipa, a small city tucked into the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains. The church began in 1998 when Chris Fraley, a young pastor with a decade of youth ministry behind him, started a home fellowship in the Wildwood Canyon area. That gathering grew quickly, and within a few years it had moved into its own building, where it now offers five weekend services plus a Wednesday night meeting. Close to three decades later, the church still describes itself as "a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ," with a focus on knowing Christ and being conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Weekend and Midweek Services
Wildwood holds one Saturday service at 5 pm in the Worship Center, four Sunday services at 7:30 am, 9:15 am, 11:00 am, and 12:30 pm spread between the Worship Center and the Courtyard, and a Wednesday service at 7 pm in the Worship Center. Services are designed to be "spiritual, inspirational, and intelligent," with worship led by a band and a substantial teaching portion drawn straight from the text of Scripture. Messages are livestreamed on YouTube, archived in the Subsplash media library, and broadcast on Wildwood Radio to listeners across Southern California and beyond.
Nursery care and children's ministry through fifth grade are provided at every weekend and Wednesday service. Junior High and High School students have their own dedicated programming during the 9:15 am and 11:00 am Sunday services.
Children from Infants Through High School
Children's ministry at Wildwood is divided by age and runs from infancy through twelfth grade. Wildside serves infants through kindergarten in age-appropriate classrooms that use dedicated curriculum, music, crafts, and a structured check-in. Parents of babies under two can sign up for baby dedication through the church office. Wildlife takes children in first through fifth grade and gathers them for Bible teaching, small group time, worship, and prayer. Both ministries actively recruit volunteer leaders and offer roles for teachers, assistants, worship leaders, registration, and children's support.
Middle and high school students meet in their own space during the two larger Sunday morning services. The youth ministry runs retreats and conferences, including an annual Junior High Winter Camp at Mile High Pines and a West Coast Youth Conference held every other summer. A Purpose Conference for first through fifth graders is held each fall.
The Wildwood Women's Center
The Wildwood Women's Center is a free, faith-based mobile pregnancy resource operating under a partnership with Save the Storks. The mobile unit offers ultrasound, pregnancy testing, options counseling, and post-abortion healing for women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy. Practical needs, including maternity and baby supplies, medical referrals, and ongoing support through childbirth, are part of the same care plan. The center is staffed by licensed nurses Janice Passmore and Korine Tyree, supported by Medical, Safety, Discipleship, and Financial teams, and operates with the conviction that expectant moms deserve better choices for their health and a clear presentation of biblical hope.
A Place for First Responders, Seniors, and Those in Grief
Wildwood has long-running ministries for adults in specific seasons of life. Believers with Badges, led by Pastor John Facio, a local community police officer, gathers active and retired first responders and their spouses for fellowship, worship, prayer, and Bible study. The group meets four times a year in Room 303 and is open to law enforcement, fire, EMS, and their families.
Vintage is the church's ministry for adults 55 and older, directed by Pastor Phil Albert. Vintage meets on Mondays at 10 am in the Worship Center for a study through the Gospel of John, with monthly events built around fellowship and food.
Finding Hope is the church's grief support ministry, also led by Phil Albert, designed to walk alongside people who have lost a loved one. Meetings are held in Room 103 at 12:30 pm on scheduled Sundays, alternating with a sermon series and small-group conversation built around God's promises in the midst of suffering.
Married Life, Deaf Ministry, and Home Fellowships
Married Life, led by Pastor Mike Milian, hosts three free dessert events each year for engaged and married couples. Each evening includes worship, Bible study, and time to reconnect across the table.
Deaf Ministry, led by Pastor Kenny Andrews, offers a weekly Bible study taught in American Sign Language on Sundays at 11 am in Room 217. Sessions are also livestreamed on Facebook and recorded on a dedicated YouTube channel for anyone who cannot attend in person.
Home Fellowships complement the main services by gathering members in smaller groups throughout the week for prayer, Bible study, and encouragement.
Teaching, Training, and Bible Study
Expository and topical Bible teaching is central to Wildwood's identity. The midweek service in particular doubles as a "School of Discipleship," where Pastor Tim Hamilton works through books of the Bible at a pace designed for careful study. The men's ministry gathers on Thursdays at 7 am for prayer in the church foyer, then on Thursday evenings at 7 pm in the Worship Center for a men's Bible study currently working through Colossians. A weekly women's Bible study runs during the fall and spring. Both groups publish downloadable study guides and rotate visiting speakers for special events.
Wildwood Christian Academy and the Worship Team
Wildwood Christian Academy operates as a K-12 ministry of the church under Principal Reid Isaac, who also leads the Christian Educators Fellowship, a separate ministry for anyone working in education. Wildwood Worship, the church's worship band, draws from a large pool of musicians and vocalists, and the church's Creative Department oversees graphics, video, sound, and online media. A worship-foyer café is run by a dedicated team of volunteers and operates between services.
Reaching Beyond Yucaipa
Wildwood supports short- and long-term missions, including church plants and relief work through partners in places like Chiang Mai, where the Davis family is serving with Refuge Fellowship Calvary Chapel and beginning a Calvary Bible Institute. Recent team trips have been to Argentina and Trujillo. The church also hosts its own Israel tour every few years; the next one is scheduled for May 11-20, 2027, with Pastor Chris Fraley, and visits the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, the Dead Sea, Masada, the Garden Tomb, and other biblical sites.
Radio broadcasts of Pastor Fraley's messages reach an unusually wide geography: 94.3 FM KHSH in Redlands and 590 AM KTIE in San Bernardino, both daily, 96.1 FM and 1170 AM KCBQ in San Diego and 99.5 KKLA in Los Angeles on weekends, 1100 AM KFNX in Phoenix on Sundays, and 94.9 FM KESU and 107.3 FM KRKW in Kauai, Hawaii, on weekdays. The broadcasts are funded through the church's giving platform with gifts designated to "Radio Ministry."
Getting Connected
Anyone wanting to know more about the church can attend a quarterly Welcome to Wildwood class in Room 103 at 12:30 pm on selected Sundays. The class covers the history and vision of the church, the pastoral staff, ministries, missions, building projects, Wildwood Christian Academy, and ways to get involved. A printable "What's Next" booklet is available online for new believers, and baptisms are scheduled throughout the year. Mobile giving and a church app for iOS and Android are available through Pushpay and Subsplash, and the church maintains an active presence on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
What Wildwood Believes
Wildwood's statement of faith reads first as Calvary Chapel: a belief in one eternal God in three persons, the virgin birth and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, the full inspiration of Scripture, salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone, and the personal, visible return of Christ. The church practices believer's baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper, both open to all believers. Worship is described as "flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit," with strong emphasis on music and on expository and topical preaching. Speaking in tongues is not practiced during Sunday or midweek services or Bible study. The statement affirms the sanctity of human life from conception and the biblical definition of marriage as the covenantal union of one man and one woman.
