Sunday Starts with Coffee and Donuts
Sunday begins at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and donuts. Sunday morning Bible study follows at 9:45, and the main morning service begins at 10:45. At 5:30 p.m., Westover gathers for an evening prayer service, with children's activities happening at the same time. Sunday services are streamed each week on Facebook so people who cannot attend in person can still hear the Word preached.
Wednesday Begins with the Community Meal
The Wednesday Community Meal starts at 6:00 p.m., followed by the evening service and children's activities at 6:30. The meal is one of Westover's regular ministries and outreaches, making hospitality a regular part of the church's midweek rhythm.
The Wyatt's Memorial Playground and Children's Activities
Westover has a playground named for Wyatt, and it supports the church's growing children's ministries. Children have activities at 5:30 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, alongside the prayer and evening services. The church's staff also includes a youth minister and youth director, while Dan Davis serves as music minister.
What Westover Teaches
Westover believes that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and that salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone. The church exists to bring glory to God by preaching and teaching the Word of God, training disciples, and leading broken and hurting people to Christ. It describes eternal life as intimately knowing and having a relationship with the Creator God.
Its stated pattern is to love as Christ loved, walk closely with God, keep its focus on things above rather than things below, and run the race set before it.
Outreach That Reaches Beyond Worship
Westover's ministry life reaches well beyond worship. Its missions and outreaches include Samaritans Purse, Vacation Bible School, Missionary Giving, Jail Ministry, Rodeo4Jesus, Quilting Ministry, Nursing Home Evangelism, Stone Brook Church, the Wednesday Community Meal, TRUCHOICE Pregnancy Resource Center, Young Adult Bible Study, and WMU.
Rodeo4Jesus at the Red Arena
Rodeo4Jesus offers free horseback riding at 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays at Red Arena, 6880 FM 621, Martindale, Texas 78655. Its mission is to lead hurting and struggling people to a loving God and help them understand God's calling. Senior Pastor Jeff Latham was raised around cattle and horses in Southern Blanco County and learned to ride on small bulls and untrained horses. He and the church began the ministry after training a wild horse, selling it, and giving the proceeds to launch Rodeo4Jesus.
The church also offers a simple two-page Bible study for people who want to understand life with Jesus, to read at their own pace. Rodeo4Jesus gives Westover a distinct setting for its mission to preach and teach the Word, train disciples, and lead broken and hurting people to Christ.
