Wake Chapel Church serves Raleigh from two locations, 3805 Tarheel Club Road and 4509 Bland Road, and is known for pairing Bible-centered worship with advocacy for health care, education, and employment. Its motto, “A Faith Community That Cares,” places the focus on help, hope, and healing while drawing people to Jesus Christ.

Wake Chapel Church and Wake Chapel North are both listed under the same Raleigh church and share its phone number and general email. Their addresses are:
- Wake Chapel: 3805 Tarheel Club Road, Raleigh, NC 27604. Sunday worship takes place here at 9:00 a.m.
- Wake Chapel North: 4509 Bland Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
At the Tarheel Club Road location, the Life Enrichment Center provides the setting for children’s worship. For questions about worship, joining a ministry, or getting involved, Wake Chapel lists 919-872-7776 and info@wakechapel.org.
Sunday Worship and Tuesday Bible Teaching
Sunday worship begins at 9:00 a.m. at 3805 Tarheel Club Road and is livestreamed at the same time on YouTube and Facebook. On Tuesday, Bible Teaching begins at 7:00 p.m. through YouTube and Facebook. These are the church’s clearest recurring rhythms for visitors: a live Sunday service at the Tarheel Club Road location and a live Bible teaching each Tuesday.
- Sunday, 9:00 a.m.: In-person worship at Wake Chapel, with a simultaneous livestream.
- Tuesday, 7:00 p.m.: Bible Teaching through YouTube and Facebook.
Sunday worship is identified as an in-person service at Wake Chapel, while the Tuesday gathering is Bible Teaching. Both are live, and the church says people may join at each of its services. The live worship can be watched on either platform.
What to Expect on a First Visit
Wake Chapel says church life extends beyond a Sunday service and wants each visitor to feel at home. At the 9:00 a.m. service, people are greeted with smiling faces as they come through the doors.
- Each visitor receives a contact card to complete and hand in before leaving.
- After the service, visitors are directed to a central location, where they receive a small token of appreciation.
- Children in grades K-12 can join the Thrive Worship Experience at the same time as Sunday worship.
- People may join the church at a service or through the administrative offices.
Thrive for Children and Youth
Thrive is Wake Chapel Church’s name for its children’s and youth work. The Thrive Worship Experience welcomes students in grades K-12 to the Life Enrichment Center for the 9:00 a.m. Sunday worship time. Thrive Youth Ministry is open on the first and third Sundays. The church’s description emphasizes that there is something for every age within this ministry.
Advocacy for Health Care, Education, and Employment
Community advocacy is Wake Chapel Church’s stated hallmark, with health care, education, and employment at its center. The mission is expressed through four core commitments:
- Leading people to Jesus Christ so that He is glorified.
- Ministering to the total needs of men, women, and families of all cultures.
- Providing opportunities for spiritual, health-wise, and economic empowerment and growth.
- Developing a welcoming environment that encourages active participation by all disciples.
The church also says it supports community members as they work to surpass barriers and limitations. It presents its ministries as a way to build strong and healthy people through fellowship, evangelism, worship, discipleship, and service. The aim is to bring encouragement and support to local and global communities and to create places of help, hope, and healing.
Bible Based, Bible Bearing, Bible Believing, and Bible Behaving
Wake Chapel Church states that it is guided by the Holy Spirit and seeks to fulfill the ministry of Jesus Christ through obedience to His commandments, charitable service to the needy, responsible stewardship, Christian education, salvation, faith, and prayer. Its doctrinal statement includes these core teachings:
- The Bible: The church holds to the verbal inspiration and authority of the Bible.
- God and Christ: It believes in one God in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ is affirmed as God incarnate, the ultimate sacrifice for humanity’s salvation, crucified, buried, raised from the dead, and now at the Father’s right hand as Intercessor.
- Sin and salvation: Sin entered the world through disobedience and separated mankind from God, with repentance as the vehicle for restoration and forgiveness. Salvation involves repentance, faith, conversion, adoption, regeneration, justification, sanctification, propitiation, substitution, reconciliation, and other redemptive processes that provide atonement for sin.
- Holiness: Holiness is not described as a religion, denomination, or church, but as a lifestyle in which inward change is revealed through ethical behavior.
- The Holy Ghost and spiritual gifts: Receiving Jesus Christ as Savior is followed by being filled with the Holy Ghost and praying for empowerment for kingdom building. Spiritual gifts are to be tempered by love and the fruit of the Spirit.
- Lord’s Supper and baptism: The church holds the Lord’s Supper in belief and teaches water baptism by immersion after repentance. Baptism does not save; it identifies the believer with Christ in death and resurrection. Baptism is in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
- Christ’s return and eternity: Wake Chapel Church believes in the pre-millennial Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the church’s translation to meet Him in the air, a thousand years of reigning with Christ on earth, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal life with Jesus Christ or eternal punishment for the wicked dead.
Together, these teachings form the church’s stated framework for worship, discipleship, service, and the work of bringing help, hope, and healing to its community.
Ministries Built Around Fellowship and Service
The ministries are described as connecting people with the Word of the Lord. At the center is the mantra “A Faith Community That Cares”; to put it into practice, Wake Chapel says it must develop leaders, support its ministries, and aid communities through evangelism and involvement.

This ministry fosters the development of Christian male role models by teaching the importance of work and attending to the needs of less fortunate people.

Its work is rooted in Ephesians 4:2-3, emphasizing humility, gentleness, patience with one another’s faults, unity in the Spirit, and a bond of peace.
The ministry offers premarital counseling, table talks, quarterly ministry outings, and planning committee meetings. A planning committee meets after service on the second Sunday of each month. Chris and Shane Glover serve as ministry coordinators, while Ricky and Dayatra Matthews serve as ministry leads. Information about the ministry is available at couples@wakechapel.org.

It encourages people to discover talents they did not know they had or develop talents that have remained dormant. Writing, photography, painting, and other forms of creative expression are among the areas highlighted.
