Come & See in Trabuco Canyon
Trabuco Presbyterian Church sits on Las Amigas Drive in the rolling hills of Trabuco Canyon, where it has become a steady Sunday morning gathering place for families across Orange County. The church's motto - "a church where you can know God, be known, and make a difference" - is lived out in a single Sunday service at 9:30 AM that draws worshipers into the sanctuary and, through livestream, into living rooms near and far.
Sunday Worship at 9:30 AM
Each Sunday the sanctuary fills for a service that includes meaningful music, prayer, and a biblical message intended to encourage everyday life. The TPC Worship Band leads the congregation in a blend of contemporary and traditional Christian music, and Pastor John McKeague preaches from the pulpit. Services typically last about one hour.
First-time visitors are greeted at the Welcome Table on the patio, where a team is ready to answer questions and help newcomers find their way. The service is also livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook, and past sermons are archived for those who want to catch up later in the week.
What to Expect with Kids and Students
TPC takes seriously the care of its youngest worshipers. Children are always welcome to remain in worship with their families, but during the 9:30 AM service several age-appropriate options are available:
- Nursery & Family Worship Room - a warm space near the sanctuary entrance where families with babies and young children can watch the service online while children play nearby.
- Little Lambs - a teacher-led class for strong walkers through age 3, with art, music, Bible stories, and play.
- Kids Growing Faith - for children 4 years old through 6th grade. After the first two worship songs, kids are dismissed to classes filled with Bible teaching, games, and creative activities.
All Kids Ministries staff and volunteers are CPR and First Aid certified and background checked, and the church follows established safety procedures so parents can worship with confidence.
On Wednesday evenings, Pathfinders brings the same age group together from 5:30 to 7:00 PM for an energetic midweek program that includes dinner and dessert, music, games, Bible stories, science, and hands-on creative activities. Pathfinders runs every Wednesday except the last of each month and costs $5 per evening when families register for a multi-week session.
Students in junior high and high school have their own rhythm. On Sundays from 9:30 to 10:30 AM they gather for Bible study and bagels, with the first Sunday of each month set aside for staying in worship together for communion. On Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 PM they return for a midweek space of worship, games, and small groups, with a shared dinner on the last Wednesday of the month.
Life Groups for Every Stage
Beyond Sunday mornings, TPC's Life Groups form the connective tissue of the congregation. The groups are intentionally varied so that nearly anyone can find a place to belong:
- Tuesday Morning Women's meets at 9:30 AM via Zoom.
- Tuesday Morning Men's gathers at 6 AM.
- Thursday Morning Men's meets from 6:30 to 7:30 AM in the MPR.
- Moms Growing Faith meets on campus Thursday mornings with childcare provided.
- Young Adults (ages 18 to 30) meets on alternating Sunday evenings at 6 PM for food, devotion, and fellowship.
- Reading and Discussion Group (RAD) meets on alternating Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 PM via Zoom and is open to couples.
- Kingdom Values Women's Book Club meets the second Monday evening of the month in the MPR.
- A fall Wednesday night Bible study runs for several weeks each autumn in the sanctuary narthex.
Each fall the church also hosts a New Members Class following the worship service for those interested in joining or learning more about TPC and the Presbyterian tradition.
Music and Prayer
Music is a central part of TPC's identity. The Worship Band is made up of dedicated volunteers who lead the congregation in both contemporary and traditional Christian worship, supported by an accompanist. No prior experience is required - a willing heart and a desire to serve are all the band asks of new musicians and singers.
On Thursdays from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Pastor John and Leanna Rozean lead a weekly prayer gathering over Zoom. Participants lift up one another, the local community, the nation, and the world, and may join with or without their video on, arriving and leaving as their schedules allow.
Family Ministries and TPC Preschool
Family Ministries is the umbrella under which Kids Ministry, Student Ministry, Young Adults, and Moms Growing Faith all operate. Its purpose is to walk alongside children, students, young adults, and moms as they grow in faith together, creating Christ-centered communities where relationships form, faith is nurtured, and lives are shaped.
TPC Preschool is part of that same commitment to families. The preschool is directed by Kathy Vanderhoff and operates as a separate ministry of the church, sharing the campus with the rest of the congregation.
Deacons and Pastoral Care
The Deacon Ministry leads and serves the church by caring for those in need, nurturing community, and committing to faithful prayer. The parish system assigns deacons to particular portions of the congregation so that every member is known and looked after. Cindy Manes serves as the current Deacon Moderator.
Missions: Local and Global
TPC's call to share the good news of Jesus Christ extends well beyond its own campus. The church supports a number of international mission partners, including Gary and Lori Cowman with Wycliffe Bible Translators in South Africa, Elmarie and Scott Parker with the PC(USA) in Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria, and a Southeast Asia partnership in Thailand.
Closer to home, the church supports the Village of Hope and Orange County Rescue Mission, Operation Christmas Child shoebox collections in Orange County, the Solano Food Bank, special projects with First Presbyterian Church of Santa Ana, the Bags of Hope Homeless Ministry, Northeast of the Well, an Afghan Refugee Family Sponsorship, and AgeWell. Opportunities are designed to fit a range of schedules, financial situations, and physical abilities.
Giving
TPC offers several ways to support its ministries. Gifts and recurring donations can be made online through the church's secure giving platform, set up through online banking bill pay, sent through Zelle using zelle@trabucopres.com, or mailed directly to the church office. All giving information is kept confidential.
Staff and Leadership
The church is led by Head Pastor Rev. Dr. John McKeague. The rest of the staff team includes Leanna Rozean as Director of Family Ministries, Dave Roberts as Director of Worship & Music, Caleb Henry as Director of Youth Ministries, Kathy Vanderhoff as Preschool Director, Megan Richards as Director of Communications, Michele Johnson as Office Manager, Cheri Steele as Business Manager, Dominique Mosqueda as Nursery & Childcare Provider, and Kalyan Subramanyam as Accompanist. The deacons serve under Moderator Cindy Manes, and Robert Owen serves as Membership Elder.
