St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church stands at 100 Sixth Street West in Jordan, Minnesota, and has served the community since 1867. The congregation is known for biblical Lutheran worship, education for all ages, and member service, with regular worship on Sunday mornings and Monday evenings.
A Jordan congregation rooted since 1867
St. Paul was formed in 1867 when Lutherans who had settled in the area established a congregation under Pastor Philipp Schmidt. The church belongs to the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), a body it describes as theologically conservative. WELS began in 1850 when three German pastors met in Milwaukee. St. Paul shares its mission to make disciples through the gospel in word and sacrament, win the lost for Christ, nurture believers for Christian service, and give glory to God.
Pastor Jeremy Glowicki has led St. Paul since coming to Jordan in 2012. He studied biblical languages at Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin, and earned a Master of Divinity degree from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 1999. His earlier ministry included three years with an exploratory restart mission in Portland, Maine, and eight years at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Paul.
A biblical church centered on forgiveness
St. Paul describes itself as a biblical church that gives God's word first place in faith and life. It is a Lutheran church that proclaims forgiveness for all through Jesus Christ. Its life is also shaped by three aims: gathering to praise God, being strengthened by his word, and reaching out to those around the congregation in Christian love.

On Wednesdays, the Foundations Class uses Bible stories and basic biblical teachings to train children and teens. Students in grades 3-6 meet from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, while grades 7-8 meet from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
Adult learning also extends beyond the church building. Theology on Tap meets at Mana Brewing at 6:30 PM on the third Thursday of each month, while Reflections Women's Bible Study meets at 7:00 PM on the second Tuesday of each month.
Roots, Woven and service opportunities
Roots Youth Group gives young people ages 13-18 educational, relationship and service opportunities. Woven Ladies Group supports the congregation through projects and fundraising. Members also take part in committee meetings, where they help shape ministry plans, and can sign up for roles that include ushers, acolytes and media booth work. Other volunteer opportunities call on members to use their particular gifts in the life of the congregation.
Offering and online giving
Support for St. Paul's ministry includes cash or checks placed in the offering plate at any service. The congregation also uses Vanco for online giving, with options for one-time gifts and recurring personal accounts. In the Vanco app, the church is listed as "St Paul Ev Lutheran Church," without periods. Gifts can be made through secure online giving.
These ministries connect Sunday and Monday worship with learning, intergenerational fellowship and practical service. St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church's life in Jordan is centered on praise to God, strength in his word and outreach in Christian love.
