Springdale Baptist Church stands at 3016 Selma Street in Fort Worth, Texas, where English, Spanish and Vietnamese ministries meet on one campus. It is known for a 10:00 A.M. Sunday worship service shaped by contemporary music and practical, Gospel-centered teaching, along with age-specific ministry from preschool through grade 12. Springdale is a family of worshipers with servants' hearts and a vision to become disciples and make disciples.
Sunday Worship on Selma Street
Springdale's main Sunday gathering begins at 10:00 A.M. at 3016 Selma Street in Fort Worth. The church also provides an online worship option through its Vimeo worship stream. People may participate in the service or sit back and observe, and greeters seek to make visitors feel relaxed, comfortable and welcome.
The worship combines contemporary music with a message grounded in God's Word. Pulpit teaching is biblical, life relevant and practical for everyday life, with each message viewed through the Gospel lens. The recurring emphasis is on God's goodness and the experience of his grace and truth.
Springdale also makes messages available to watch or listen to online through its collection of messages. The teaching is intended to carry beyond the Sunday gathering and help people learn, be encouraged and be challenged by God's Word.
English, Spanish and Vietnamese at One Address
Springdale's first-language ministries reflect the racial diversity in the neighborhood surrounding its campus. Alongside the English worship service, the church offers Spanish and Vietnamese gatherings at the same Selma Street location. These ministries are part of the church's commitment to help people from different backgrounds discover the joy of knowing and serving Jesus Christ.
The Spanish-speaking congregation, Nueva Vida en Cristo, meets for Bible study at 10:00 A.M. in the Family Room. Christian and Yorka lead the ministry with Don Malpass. Its gatherings focus on God and learning to apply biblical truths to daily life, with an emphasis on creating a family-friendly place where Spanish-speaking visitors can feel at home.
The Vietnamese congregation meets for worship from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. in Meeting Room 2, located in the Adult Discipleship Area. Nghia Nguyen has pastored this congregation since 2005. The service combines worship and biblical teaching, including attention to the truth of Scripture, hope and peace through Jesus Christ.
Preschool to Focus: Learning by Age
Springdale's preschool ministry serves infants through kindergarten in a secure children's wing. Parents can drop off their children before joining the 10:00 worship service and use a secure check-in system when they arrive or preregister. The age-sensitive setting is designed to let children experience God with caring leaders while parents focus on worship.
Amplify serves grades 1 through 5 and begins at 10:00 A.M. Students meet in groups by grade: 1 and 2, 3 and 4, and 5. Each Sunday includes caring leaders, a Bible video, meaningful discussions, hands-on crafts, interactive games and time to worship and build friendships. The stated goal is for every child to feel deeply loved by God, valued as having unique purpose and welcomed enough to return each week.
Focus continues the youth journey through grades 6 through 12. The youth ministry wants students to know Jesus Christ and find their purpose, ultimate joy and satisfaction in him. It also seeks to deepen their understanding of God's greatness and encourage the pursuit of godliness. Ryun Torres leads the youth group, which gathers under the name FOCUS.
Family Connect Groups: Discipleship at Home and on Campus
Family Connect, or FC, Groups meet in homes and on the church campus on Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. They are available for all ages and life stages. Their purpose is to help people connect and grow as followers of Jesus through smaller gatherings in which lives, faith and service can be shared.
Three practices shape the groups:
- Meeting and Eating: People share meals, build spiritual bonds and lifelong friendships, pray for one another, and encourage and support one another.
- Sharing: They discuss the weekend message, what they are learning and how God is calling them to grow in faith.
- Serving: They look for opportunities to serve in the community and share the love of Christ.
The church also connects the language of discipleship with Wednesday-night Journey Groups. That path is tied to God's Ways in Springdale's vision and is intended to move people beyond learning about discipleship toward helping others walk with God. The emphasis is on becoming disciple-making disciples who can encourage and serve others.
ReGeneration: A Path to Restoration
ReGeneration is a supportive 12-step journey for people who want to move through struggles and deepen their walk with Jesus alongside others. Separate men's and women's groups meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M., and childcare is provided. The journey operates for about ten months, with a few holiday pauses, and uses a reading book and workbook as participants move through the steps.
The ministry focuses on a supportive environment and solutions to real-life struggles as offered by God through Jesus Christ. Participants hear testimonies from people who have been impacted by the journey. ReGeneration gives the church's broader small-group and discipleship emphasis a distinct restoration ministry for people seeking healing and freedom.
Five Connections That Shape Springdale
Springdale's vision is to become disciples and make disciples through five connections: God, his Family, his Work, his Ways and his Mission. Each connection describes both a spiritual practice and the way the church intends to live out its mission.
- God: The church connects with God by loving him with all heart, soul, mind and strength. That love is expressed through lives, collective worship, music, prayer and time in God's Word.
- His Family: Connection with God's Family means loving one another as Jesus loves us, remaining devoted to the Word, sharing life and meals, and praying for one another.
- His Work: People use their resources, personal gifts and service to work with and build up the family of faith.
- His Ways: Christ followers grow in the way of Jesus and come alongside others so they can learn to follow him with his thoughts and in his ways.
- His Mission: The church uses its resources and gifts to serve those outside the family of faith with the Good News of Jesus Christ, which leads not only to a better life but to new life.
What Springdale Believes
Springdale's beliefs are based on the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ. Its core teachings can be summarized in six areas:
- The Bible: The 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are held to be the complete Word of God, inspired by the Spirit of God as originally written and final in matters of faith and conduct.
- God: Springdale believes in one God, the holy, sovereign and eternal Creator, existing in three equal Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ: It affirms the deity of Jesus Christ, including his eternal existence with the Father, work in creation, virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, ascension, mediatorial ministry and personal return.
- The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is affirmed as divine and personal. The church teaches that he convicts concerning sin, righteousness and judgment; regenerates, indwells, seals, sanctifies, illuminates and comforts believers; baptizes them into Christ; gives spiritual gifts; and fills those who are yielded to him.
- Mankind: Adam is described as divinely created in God's image. Through disobedience he fell from that state, and his posterity inherited spiritual depravity and guilt before God, bringing physical and spiritual death.
- Salvation: Salvation is taught as the sovereign grace of God. Christ voluntarily suffered for sinners, justification is by faith alone in his sacrifice and resurrection, and those God calls are preserved and ultimately perfected in the image of the Lord.
Biblical Teaching for Real Life
Springdale's message ministry places a high priority on biblical preaching and practical teaching. Past message series have explored God's character, misleading assumptions, discipleship, biblical stories of restoration, Jonah, the seven deadly sins, regeneration, the Holy Spirit and the relentless love of God. Special messages also feature different speakers.
Across these subjects, the pulpit emphasis remains connected to the church's wider purpose: helping people understand grace and truth, see life through the Gospel, follow Jesus and become people who can serve and encourage others. The emphasis is not limited to information from the pulpit but continues through worship, small groups, family ministry, language ministries and support for spiritual restoration.
Mission From Fort Worth to the World
Springdale uses the word glocally to describe its desire to share the Good News both locally and globally. It teaches that Jesus did not give the church a mission so much as form the church for his mission, using Matthew 28:19-20 and the call to make disciples of all nations. This mission flows through the church's five connections, especially God's Work, God's Ways and God's Mission.
Locally, that commitment is expressed through Family Connect service opportunities and the English, Spanish and Vietnamese gatherings that share the Selma Street campus. Globally, missions remains central to Don Malpass's ministry, while Rey Martinez's role explicitly includes missions. Their work emphasizes using personal gifts, helping people follow Jesus, making disciples and developing servant leaders who can continue the mission.

Springdale's leaders describe themselves as family servant leaders. Their roles connect missions, discipleship, worship, language ministry and age-specific formation.

Together with Don Malpass, they lead the Sunday Spanish Bible study and emphasize biblical teaching, service and helping people discover what God has for them.
At Springdale, those ministries are joined by one shared identity: becoming disciples and making disciples through connection with God, his Family, his Work, his Ways and his Mission. On Selma Street, that identity is lived out through worship, multilingual gatherings, age-specific learning, Family Connect discipleship, restoration ministry and leaders centered on missions and servant leadership.
