Five Campuses Across Arizona
Radiant Church is an Assemblies of God congregation that has grown into a five-campus family stretching from the Phoenix west valley to the pine country of northern Arizona. Its main campus, at 15522 West Paradise Lane in Surprise, is the founding location and the only one that streams its services live. From that base, the church reaches into a 55+ community in Sun City, a Spanish-speaking neighborhood in El Mirage, the north Phoenix suburb around Deer Valley, and the small mountain town of Williams, where a separate Bible study and men's, women's, and youth gatherings run alongside the Sunday service.
The church's mission is summed up in three lines: Worship God, Build Family, Reach People. Everything from the kids building to the recovery ministry to the mission teams in Guadalajara and El Salvador rolls up under that banner. Pastors Caden and Hope Metcalf lead the church with that vision in view, and a deep bench of staff and volunteer leaders carries it out across the campuses.
Sunday at the Surprise Campus
The Surprise campus runs two identical Sunday services at 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., with a livestream of the gathering for those joining from home. The Surprise location is also the only one that offers the midweek service, held Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and accompanied by a kids service at the same hour for birth through fifth grade.
What makes a Surprise Sunday distinctive is the breadth of what happens in one place. ASL interpretation is available for the deaf community, and CLUB210, the special needs ministry, opens its doors during the 10:45 a.m. service in the main building. The Kids Ministry runs during both Sunday services, and a fully staffed nursery welcomes children from six weeks old. Baptisms are scheduled on the second Wednesday of each month during the 6:30 p.m. midweek service, with a brief 5:30 p.m. orientation in the Kids Building for those registered.
For visitors who want to ease in before walking through the doors, the church offers a Welcome Home Dinner each year - a free evening with the pastors and team, free childcare for ages six weeks through fifth grade, and a chance to hear the heart behind the church.
El Mirage: All Services in Spanish
The El Mirage campus, located inside El Mirage Elementary School at 13500 North El Mirage Road, is the Spanish-language heart of Radiant. Two Sunday services - 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. - are offered entirely in Spanish, with Radiant Kids programming available for the same age range as the Surprise campus. The El Mirage campus is the place to send Spanish-speaking friends and family who are looking for an Assemblies of God church on the west side of the metro.
Sun City, Deer Valley, and Williams
The Sun City campus at 10701 West Boswell Boulevard exists specifically to serve the 55+ community in and around the retirement hub of Sun City. A single 10:00 a.m. Sunday service gives the older adults in the area a place to worship without driving into Phoenix proper, and a dedicated seniors ministry is tied to the campus.
Deer Valley, the North Phoenix campus at 2820 West Rose Garden Lane, also meets once a week on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Like the other campuses, it offers Radiant Kids during the service and acts as a host site for Growth Track.
The Williams campus, two hours north of Flagstaff at 100 Pinecrest Trail, has the most varied weekly schedule of the satellite locations. Sundays include a 10:00 a.m. worship service and youth group on the first and third Sundays from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays bring a 6:00 p.m. Bible study. On the third Saturday of the month, the men gather at 8:00 a.m. and the women at 10:00 a.m. The campus also partners with St. Mary's Food Bank on the first Wednesday of each month and runs a community service day in partnership with the City of Williams on the third Sunday. For anyone living in the Williams area, this is a full slate of ministry, not a once-a-month meeting.
Radiant Kids and CLUB210
Radiant Kids is the children's ministry for kids from six weeks old through fifth grade, and it is led by Pastors Kevin and Brandi Melton. The Meltons have been part of Radiant for more than seventeen years, raising their own three children through the ministry before stepping into the leadership role. Their philosophy is simple: church should be fun, engaging, inspiring, safe, and centered on God, with the Bible as the only textbook.
Programming is divided between early childhood (six weeks through preschool) and elementary (kindergarten through fifth grade). Early childhood introduces the basics - God loves them, they are a special creation, and Jesus wants to be their best friend - through Bible stories, songs, and activities. Elementary engages the kids with age-appropriate Bible lessons, worship, prayer, scripture memorization, small group discussion, and a steady stream of fun. Safety is taken seriously: every volunteer clears a background check, wears a Radiant Kids badge, and uses a name tag system that matches children to a parent-issued pickup tag. A text alert system is in place for emergencies during a service.
CLUB210, the special needs ministry, is the part of Radiant Kids designed for individuals with special needs of any age and their families. The name comes from Ephesians 2:10 - "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus" - and the program's mission is to lovingly share Jesus, to help every CLUB210'er become all God has created them to be, and to include them in serving within the church body. CLUB210 is open during the 10:45 a.m. service on Sundays at the Surprise campus, in the main building, with trained and loving staff ready to walk alongside families.
Next Gen: Middle School, High School, and Young Adults
The Next Gen building at the Surprise campus is the home for grades 6 through 12. The weekly rhythm is built around a split schedule: middle school gathers at 10:45 a.m. and high school at 6:00 p.m. on Sundays. Combined middle and high school services happen on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Once a quarter, the church holds a ONE NIGHT service that brings the youth and young adults together for a single, larger gathering.
Summer intensives round out the year. Kids Week in mid-June takes kindergarten through fifth grade to the Surprise campus for three days. Youth Camp in late July moves grades 6 through 12 to Granite Hills Campground with guest speaker Billy Willis. The Young Adult Weekend in late May takes the 18-to-29 crowd to the same campground for a long weekend of teaching and connection.
Radiant Young Adults serves ages 18 to 29 with monthly services and weekly life groups. Past monthly gatherings have been held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m., and life groups meet on multiple days - including a Thursday group in Peoria and a Friday group in Surprise. The Young Adults team is also active on Instagram at @radiant.ya, where a life group interest form in the bio is the easiest way to get plugged in.

Radiant Recovery
Radiant Recovery is a Jesus-centered, free program that meets at the Surprise campus for anyone looking for healing, hope, and freedom from life's struggles. Each evening begins with worship and a short message, then moves into breakout groups focused on grief, divorce, addiction, trauma, and codependency. Support is also available for kids and youth, and childcare is provided. Newcomers can join at any time - you don't have to start at week one.
The program is built around a participant workbook that can be purchased on site and uses Radiant's own recovery curriculum centered on the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Confidentiality and anonymity are promised and protected. The meetings happen in the NextGen Building at 15522 West Paradise Lane.
Two guiding scriptures shape the tone of the program. Romans 15:13 ("I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him") and 1 Peter 2:9-10 ("You are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession") frame recovery as a place to take off the mask and let others know who you really are. It is not therapy, not a place to find a dating relationship, and not a place for perfection or a quick fix. It is a safe place to share, a place to belong, a place to learn and demonstrate genuine love, and a possible turning point in a life.
Life Groups and Growth Track
Life Groups are the small-group backbone of the church. Each group is roughly 6 to 20 people who meet in homes or other community spaces on a regular basis with the stated purpose of "doing life together." There are groups for every stage of life, and a Group Finder on the church's online platform is the easiest way to find a match. Life Group leaders are equipped through a toolbox of resources, including attendance tools, the latest sermon, group questions, and access to Right Now Media.
Growth Track is the church's three-week introduction for newcomers and new believers. Over three one-hour sessions - Know God, Discover Your Purpose, and Make a Difference - participants take spiritual gifts and personality assessments, learn about Radiant's values, vision, ministries, and events, and find a serve team to join. Growth Track meets the first three Sundays of each month during the second service at El Mirage (in the cafeteria) and Surprise (in the Growth Track Room). At Deer Valley (in the Choir Room) and Sun City (in the Conference Room), it runs during the regular service time. Miss a step? You can jump back in the following month.
Other next steps include a free Welcome Home Dinner for newcomers, a baptism class for kids on the first Wednesday of each month, and the Growth-Track-to-serve-team pipeline that turns new believers into Radiant volunteers within a few weeks.
The Midweek Service, Baptism, and Communion
Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. on the Surprise campus are the spiritual midweek anchor for the church. The midweek service is shorter and more focused than a Sunday morning, and it is where baptisms are scheduled. Adults and kids register in advance, arrive at 5:30 p.m. in the Kids Building for check-in and a brief orientation, and are baptized during the service itself. Kids follow a separate path: a Kids Baptism Class is held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m., and baptism registration opens each month after the class has been completed.
Communion is observed as a regular part of worship, and the church teaches the classic Pentecostal view of communion as a symbol of the believer's sharing in the divine nature of Christ, a memorial of His suffering and death, and a prophecy of His second coming.
Beliefs and the Assemblies of God
Radiant is an Assemblies of God church and adheres to the AG's 16-point Statement of Fundamental Truths. The church describes the Bible as the all-sufficient rule for faith and practice, verbally inspired by God, infallible, and authoritative. God is one, eternal, and revealed in three Persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man, the only one who can reconcile people to God.
The church teaches that sin has separated each person from God, and that repentance, faith in Jesus, water baptism, and the baptism in the Holy Spirit are the means of salvation, healing, and power for Christian living. The initial physical evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. The church also holds to divine healing as an integral part of the gospel, the imminent rapture of the Church, the visible millennial reign of Christ, the final judgment, and the promise of new heavens and a new earth.
On the ordinances, Radiant practices baptism by immersion for all who repent and believe, and observes the Lord's Supper - bread and the fruit of the vine - as a memorial, a symbol, and a prophecy until Christ returns.
Local Outreach and Global Mission
Outreach at Radiant takes two main shapes: local serve weekends and global mission trips. The REACH Weekends calendar is built around six annual touchpoints - a Night to Shine prom for people with special needs in February, a spring serve event in May, a Back to School drive in July, a partnership with the Sojourner Center in September, Fall Family Night in October, and the Christmas Experience in December. Fall Family Night is the biggest: a free community event on the Surprise campus with trunk-or-treat, carnival rides, a petting zoo, midway games, bounce houses, laser tag, a zip line, face painting, and food trucks. Canned food donations collected that night go straight to Radiant Community Services.
On the global side, the church sends short-term mission teams of seven to ten days each year. Recent trips have included Guadalajara in November - working alongside missionaries Chris and Julie Abiuso in kids ministry, orphanages, and church building projects - and El Salvador in 2027 - partnering with missionaries Kenton and Eunice Moody in Santa Ana for kids ministry, outreach, home building, and serving at La Puerta Abierta Church. The church also partners with Convoy of Hope, a ministry that feeds and disciples over 600,000 children each day and has responded to more than 80,000 disasters worldwide, and with the Fire Bible project, which distributes study Bibles to leaders in restricted and underserved regions.
Radiant Community Services is the church's local benevolence arm, partnering with the food bank and other resources to help families in need in the west valley.
Giving, the App, and Staying Connected
There are several ways to support Radiant financially. Online giving is available through the church's secure giving page, with options for one-time gifts and recurring giving. By text, sending the word "GIVE" to 623-254-5217 designates a tithe offering. By mail, gifts can be sent to the main office at 15522 West Paradise Lane, Surprise, AZ 85374. Crypto gifts are accepted through a dedicated Overflow portal, and gifts can also be made during any weekend worship experience at any location.
The Radiant Church app - available in the iOS App Store, Google Play, the Amazon Appstore, and on Roku - is the everyday touchpoint for members and regular attenders. It carries the latest messages, an events calendar, a connect card, a prayer request form, a help form, and tools for Life Groups and Growth Track. Messages are also posted in full to the church's YouTube channel, where an extensive library of past sermons and small-group discussion guides is available.
Office hours at the Surprise campus run Monday and Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office is closed on Fridays and Saturdays, and Sundays are reserved for the campus service times. For anyone with questions, the main number is (623) 975-2662 and the main email is info@radiantchurch.com.
A School of Ministry and a Long-Term Vision
One piece of Radiant's investment in the next generation that often goes unnoticed is the Radiant School of Ministry, a training program designed to raise up leaders from within the church family. It sits alongside Next Gen Summer as part of the church's broader commitment to developing people, not just filling seats. Combined with Growth Track, the Summer camps, and the many serve teams that run a Sunday morning from parking to kids check-in, it points to a church that sees discipleship as a long walk, not a one-time decision.
From a Surprise campus on Paradise Lane to a meeting room in Williams, Radiant Church is built around the same three-part mission that has shaped it from the start: worship God, build family, reach people. The doors are open across five campuses, in two languages, with a place for kids, students, young adults, married couples, singles, seniors, and anyone who needs a fresh start.
