Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas: Five Sunday Services, Three Campuses, One Mission

Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas

Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, founded in 1939, exists to lead all generations to love Jesus through five Sunday worship services in English and Spanish, Connect Groups, local and global missions, and ministries for every life stage.

About Park Cities Baptist Church

Five Sunday Services in English and Spanish

On any given Sunday, Park Cities Baptist Church fills its 3933 Northwest Parkway campus with as many as five distinct worship gatherings. At 9:30 a.m., the Great Hall hosts a contemporary blended service that mixes modern worship music with biblical teaching in a more casual environment, while a few steps away the Ellis Chapel offers a traditional service with the church's chorale and orchestra, an intimate alternative for those who prefer hymns and anthems. The 10:45 hour doubles the options: the Great Hall service repeats its blended format, and the Sanctuary service fills the 1,500-seat main worship space with the Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra, presenting majestic choral anthems, hymns of the faith, and a sermon meant to carry worshipers into the week ahead. Each of these four English services is paired with an online stream.

At 12:30 p.m., the Great Hall becomes the gathering place for En Español, a Spirit-led service of worship and biblical preaching led by Dr. Rolando Aguirre. The Spanish-language service is also livestreamed, with its own YouTube channel and weekly podcast, and connects to the broader Spanish-language ministry that PCBC calls Park Cities en Español.

Three Campuses, One Mission

PCBC's Spanish-language work has grown beyond the main campus into two additional locations, all sharing one mission and one staff. The Park Cities campus at 3933 Northwest Parkway is the home base, with the Great Hall, Sanctuary, Ellis Chapel, classroom buildings, gym, and the Commons coffee bar. The Vickery campus, housed at the Vickery Herrera Center in the heart of the Vickery Meadow neighborhood, is led by Amin Calvo and Luisa Angel, who are residents of the community. PCBC en Español also hosts a weekly worship gathering at the Buckner Family Hope Center at Bachman Lake. Together, the three campuses serve a bilingual, multigenerational congregation across North Texas and beyond.

From a White House on Lovers Lane to Northwest Parkway

Park Cities Baptist Church traces its roots to 1939, when a small group of believers dedicated their first offering to missions and launched a church without a pastor and without a building. In 1940, a large white house at 4201 Lovers Lane became the first home of PCBC. As the congregation grew, portable buildings were added to the rear of the property to make room for Sunday school, worship, choir practice, prayer services, sports leagues, and family night dinners. Specialized groups such as Brotherhood, WMU, and the Business and Professional Women's Circle gave men and women of every season places to belong.

On May 9, 1954, the congregation broke ground on the Sanctuary building that still defines the church's skyline, and during the years of expansion it helped found new churches, cared consistently for members, and began an early childhood education program for teachers and parents. From its earliest days, missions were a top priority, and PCBC built relationships with ministries and service organizations in surrounding neighborhoods. More than eight decades later, the church continues to invest in its city and the world while planning a visionary capital campaign to restore its building, serve its community, and reach beyond its walls with the love of Christ.

What PCBC Believes

PCBC's mission is to lead all generations to love Jesus, and the church's beliefs are described as its "true north" and the anchor of all it does. The church holds to one living and true God, infinite in holiness, existing eternally in communion with the Trinity as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It confesses Jesus Christ as the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, crucified and raised, now exalted at the right hand of God as the one Mediator who will return in power and glory. The Holy Spirit is confessed as the one who inspired Scripture, illumines truth, convicts of sin, regenerates believers, and empowers the church for witness and service.

The Bible is received as the divinely inspired record of God's revelation, with God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth for its matter. PCBC practices believer's baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper as the two ordinances committed to the church, and affirms the eternal security of all true believers, who are kept by the power of God through faith. The church's statement about the local church draws directly from the Baptist Faith and Message of 1963, describing a New Testament congregation as an autonomous body of baptized believers, operating through democratic processes under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, with pastors and deacons as its scriptural officers.

The church anchors its daily life in five values: Christ centers PCBC, Scripture guides it, cultural engagement propels it, serving defines it, and God's glory drives it. Coöperatively, PCBC partners with Texas Baptists and the Dallas Baptist Association, and supports more than a dozen local and global mission partners directly.

Connect Groups: Sunday School for Every Stage

Connect Groups are the small-group heartbeat of PCBC, a larger-church answer to Sunday School with classes for every age and stage of life. On Sundays at both 9:30 and 10:45 a.m., adults gather in classes such as Berean, Common Ground, Courageous Moms, Esther Women, FamilyFirst, Impact, Journey, Koinonia, Legacy, Neurodivergent Families, Newlywed, Presley, Seekers, The Bridge, The Vineyard, and Young Families. Specialized groups include Berean Men's, Berean Women's, the Kibby Krowd, and Common Table. Single Adults find classes like Single Focus and The Bridge, while younger adults are drawn to Journey, Common Ground, and The Garden.

For preschoolers and children, Connect Groups meet as Babies, Toddlers, 3s-K, Wee Worship (3s-K at 10:45), and Kids Connect for 1st through 5th graders. Students meet as Middle School and High School at 10:45 a.m. The church's Neurodivergent Families group, meeting biweekly at 10:45 a.m., welcomes families with neurodivergent loved ones.

Next Gen: Preschool, Kids, and Students

PCBC's Next Gen Ministries walk with families from the cradle through high school graduation. The Preschool Ministry, under Preschool Minister Lisetta Layer, cares for newborns through kindergarten in age-appropriate spaces each Sunday morning. Babies and toddlers hear God's Word through songs and Bible reading, while preschoolers gather for story, small group, and multi-media Wee Worship. The Babies and Toddlers nursery meets at 9:30 a.m.; preschool classes for 3s-K meet at 9:30 a.m., with Wee Worship at 10:45 a.m. The MomCo, formerly MOPS, gathers moms of young children on alternate Mondays during the school year in The Loft for mentorship, teaching, and community.

PCBC Kids, led by Kids Minister Rebekah Mompremier, invites 1st through 5th graders into Kids Connect at 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. The earlier hour focuses on Bible navigation, memory verses, and engaging learning styles using Bible Studies for Life; the later hour cultivates peer and leader relationships through Hyfi by Lifeway, with a large-group Bible story and small-group table time. Wednesdays bring GROW Kids for Music, Missions, and Movement from September through April. A quarterly New Christian Class helps children explore baptism, and the Kids Ministry Associate Noah Campbell helps families talk about daily prayer.

Students in middle school and high school meet on Sundays at 10:45 a.m. and gather midweek through Crew, a network of in-home small groups hosted by PCBC families across the Dallas area. Boys' and girls' Crew homes meet on weeknights across the metroplex, with co-ed groups meeting on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Reed Building. Taylor Lowrey serves as Student Pastor, and a High School Worship Team called Thee Band leads worship throughout the year.

College & Career, Single Adults, and Adults 55+

Young Adults find a home through the College & Career ministry led by Young Adult Connections Pastor Caleb Rhoades, while the Single Adults ministry offers monthly Build Up events that mix fellowship with fun - pickleball and pizza, pumpkin carving, Friendsgiving, and a young adult Christmas party. Groups such as Single Focus, Act II, and The Bridge provide Sunday morning community for singles in their 20s, 30s, and beyond.

Adults 55+ enjoy a robust rhythm of their own, with groups such as Legacy, EN-Joy, Compass, Esther Women, Global Friends, and the Noteables Choir, a Boomer/Senior Adult choral ensemble that sings at the DBU annual Novell Slater Hymn Sing, the Everlasting Choir Festival, and joint programs with the Edgemere Choir. Joint Effort, a year-round low-impact exercise class led by Laurie Tharp, meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. in the gym, with adapted exercises for a range of fitness levels.

Men's, Women's, and Marriage Ministries

PCBC's Men's Ministry exists to make disciples who make disciples, gathering men in Connect Groups like Berean Men's, Men's Group, and Young Men, plus a Thursday men's Bible study with Travis Cook. Men's serve days and a daily Scripture reading text prompt ("DWELL" to 74899) help men walk through Hebrews 12:1 together.

The Women's Ministry, led by Minister to Women Lenette Lindsey, offers a steady stream of Bible studies and gatherings: Berean Women's, Esther Women, Naomi & Ruth, Courageous Moms, Thursday Morning Ladies' Bible Study, Breakfast Blend, Women's Game Night, and seasonal dinners and retreats. Spanish-language women's connection happens through Elegidas: Grupo de Mujeres, which meets every other week across the metroplex, and through special events like Evento para Mujeres and the Taller para Parejas marriage workshop.

Music and Worship Arts

The worship gatherings at PCBC are built to exalt God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and to challenge people to follow Jesus every day. The Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra lead the 10:45 Sanctuary service, accompanied by an annual performance of SAVIOUR: A Modern Oratorio. The Great Hall Band leads the contemporary 9:30 and 10:45 services. Adult handbell ensembles of beginner and experienced ringers rehearse Mondays under Beverly Golden, and the Noteables Choir sings for the 55+ community under Barbara Loest. Music extends to Next Gen through a Student Worship Team called Thee Band, GROW Student Worship Team, and a Worship Lab for High School Students. Children in 1st through 5th grade learn music and worship through instruments and singing, and preschoolers experience developmentally appropriate musical activities with Penny Peek, NextGen Music & Arts Coordinator.

Sports and Recreation

PCBC's Sports and Recreation ministry turns the gym into a hub for community. An Adult Basketball League runs Mondays and Thursdays from September through November for men's, women's, and coed teams at competitive and recreational levels. Open Court Pickleball welcomes players Tuesdays from 6:15 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Holy Yoga, a low-impact class combining stretching with prayer, breath work, and worship, meets Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. in The Pit under the gym. Joint Effort offers gentle strength and balance training on Tuesdays and Thursdays for adults of every fitness level, and a Mommy and Me Exercise Class led by Dr. Courtney Warner, PT, DPT, PCES, welcomes moms in any stage of pregnancy or postpartum for safe core, pelvic floor, and mobility work.

Care, Counseling, and Prayer

PCBC's Pastoral Care ministry walks alongside members in every season. Dr. Jack Martin leads hospital visits, in-home ministry, and a 13-week GriefShare group using materials from Church Initiative. A 13-week DivorceCare group is also offered. For counseling, PCBC partners with The Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology, which places counselors on the PCBC campus five days a week. Prayer requests are received 24/7 through Barbara Loest and a prayer team that begins interceding the moment a request is received. A benevolence ministry reaches out to practical needs through 214-860-1545, and Wedding and Funeral Coordinator Valerie Bergstrom helps families plan services, including inurnment in the on-campus Columbarium and Memorial Garden. The ministry to In-Home Members keeps members who can no longer attend connected through calls, cards, flowers, and visits.

Local Mission Partners Across Dallas

Across Dallas, PCBC partners with twelve local ministries whose common goal is building relationships and investing in lives in practical ways. For the Nations Refugee Outreach welcomes refugees from across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East through educational programs and community outreach. Thrive Women's Clinic offers compassionate care, counseling, and encouragement at no cost to women facing unplanned pregnancies. ACT works to restore communities by empowering residents to stand against crime and injustice. Cornerstone Crossroads Academy provides Christ-centered education for urban youth. Men of Nehemiah rebuilds the lives of men and families affected by addiction, homelessness, and cycles of poverty. Our Calling serves individuals experiencing homelessness and reconnects broken families. Brother Bill's Helping Hand ministers in West Dallas and Oak Cliff with food, healthcare, education, and faith programs. The Buckner Family Hope Center at Bachman Lake strengthens families and supports vulnerable children and adults. Cornerstone Baptist Church serves meals, clothing, and essential care to those experiencing homelessness in South Dallas. Practice Ministries equips families to grow in faith through free, age-appropriate Bible study resources. Vickery Meadow Food Pantry provides food, clothing, housing assistance, healthcare, and employment resources, and Dallas Christian Women's Job Corps and Interfaith Family Services round out the network with workforce readiness, transitional housing, and family stability programs.

At the heart of this local work is the Vickery Herrera Center in Vickery Meadow, where PCBC en Español leads a clothes closet and household goods distribution on first and third Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m., a mobile food pantry on Tuesdays and Thursdays, furniture pick-up and delivery, Sunday worship childcare, weekly ESL, Bible studies, parenting, sewing, and cooking classes, and a Love Vickery prayer group that gathers on the first and third Mondays at 8:30 a.m. PCBC members serve, give, and pray alongside these partners year-round, with a regular Men's Serve Breakfast, Kids' Serve Day, and PCBC Fall Serve 2026 pulling the whole church into shared service.

Global Mission Trips and Partners

Beyond Dallas, PCBC sends short-term mission trips through partnerships with ministries that have been thoroughly evaluated by PCBC staff and leadership. South Texas trips, offered at no fee, include building beds for families, hosting Baptist Students Ministry nights for college students, serving at the Rio Grande Valley Food Bank, and praying and worshiping with believers in the region.

Internationally, PCBC partners with Potter's House International Guatemala, where teams serve through medical and dental clinics, Vacation Bible School, construction, teacher training, and prayer walks. In Kenya and East Africa, African Christian Outreach and Lighthouse for Christ bring relational discipleship, leadership development, eye clinics and surgeries, pastor training, and Bible studies. In Peru, Everknown ministers to orphaned and vulnerable children in the Cusco region through holistic care, young adult transitions, and gospel-centered community engagement. PCBC also partners with Greater European Mission to expand gospel impact throughout the United Kingdom, supporting food pantry outreach, sports camps, and neighborhood evangelism, and supports several local churches throughout the Caribbean through Vacation Bible School teams, youth camps, and summit trips for pastors and seminary students. In Asia, the church engages in church-planting and humanitarian efforts across multiple regions. Recent trips have included Southeast Asia, the Career Coaching UTRGV BSM Trip, the Caribbean Basin Summit, and others.

Church Planting in Dallas-Fort Worth

Through the Church Planting Center (CPC), PCBC partners with Texas Baptists to identify, equip, and support leaders called to plant new churches across North Texas. Dr. Kelly Hamilton serves as Director. Planters enter approximately six months of hands-on training in vision casting, leadership development, team building, financial planning, preaching, discipleship, and worship leadership, learning from PCBC pastors and Texas Baptist leaders. The CPC primarily supports churches affiliated with Texas Baptists, providing funding, training, coaching, and practical resources as planters move from early vision to long-term sustainability.

Facilities: Weddings, Funerals, the Columbarium, and Rentals

PCBC's campus opens its doors to the community for life's biggest moments. Weddings at PCBC take place in the Sanctuary, with the Marriage Ministry helping couples plan and prepare. Funerals and memorial services can be held in the Sanctuary or Chapel, and the on-campus Columbarium and Memorial Garden offers inurnment options for those who wish to be remembered on the church grounds. The Sanctuary seats 1,500, the Great Hall 900, Fellowship Hall 250, the Commons and The Loft 200 each, the Choral Hall 150, and the Activities Parlor, Ellis Parlor, and Classrooms serve smaller gatherings.

Outside of Sunday and Wednesday ministry, PCBC rents its spaces to other groups, with requests reviewed by PCBC Senior Leadership. All activities must align with the church's beliefs and purpose, and PCBC does not offer rentals on Sundays or Wednesdays. Weddings, funerals, baptisms, Child Dedication services, Discover Classes, the N.T. Wright conference, and countless Connect Groups, Bible studies, and rehearsals fill the campus each week.
