Just north of Tulsa along 129th East Avenue, Owasso First Assembly has gathered for worship on the same site for decades, drawing families from across the Owasso community with the simple words Welcome Home. Pastor Bruce McCarty has led the church since 2001, and today Owasso First - often shortened to OFA - describes itself as a multigenerational church committed to connecting people with Jesus through authentic, biblical community. Sunday mornings bring live worship and teaching; Wednesday evenings open the building for small groups, Bible studies, and a thriving youth service. Alongside its English-language ministry, OFA also gathers as OFA Hispano under a dedicated Hispanic pastor, reflecting the breadth of the surrounding community.
What to Expect on a First Visit
OFAs Plan Your Visit program is built around a single idea: take the stress out of arriving at a new church. Guests who fill out a short form online can preregister their children for OTown Kids, and a host waits at the entrance to walk them through the campus. A Guest Experience team staffs a Guest Central station in the Main Lobby before and after each service to answer questions and hand out a small gift for first-time attenders.
The dress code is intentionally casual. Suits and ties share the room with shorts and t-shirts, and the welcome extends to anyone regardless of their story, doubts, or struggles. Services last a little over an hour and include live worship designed to lift high the name of Jesus, followed by teaching that the church describes as compelling, authentic, and firmly rooted in the Word of God. Sundays at 10:30 am
Sunday is the focal point of the week. The main worship service meets at 10:30 am in person and online, with a livestream that brings the same teaching and worship to viewers across Owasso and beyond. Before the service, at 9:30 am, the building fills with Christian Living Classes for adults and the OFA Youth Sunday Morning Class in the Youth Building.
For families, OTown Kids runs alongside the main service at 10:30 am, with age-appropriate Bible teaching, games, worship, and small groups for children from nursery age through fifth grade. Each child is checked in through a detailed process on the first visit, designed so parents can worship without worry. The nursery itself is divided into four classes based on age and development, and a team of friendly volunteers helps place each child in the right room.
After the main gathering, OFA Youth meets again at 6 pm for a Sunday Night Group, where middle and high school students gather in homes for food, friendship, and conversation. Contact for that gathering is handled through the youth office.
Wednesday Nights at OFA
Midweek at Owasso First begins at 6:30 pm and turns the building into a campus of overlapping communities. Men and women meet separately for Bible studies; community groups gather around shared interests; OTown Kids welcomes children again for an evening program; and the OFA Youth midweek service fills the youth space with praise, worship, and a teaching aimed at 6th through 12th graders. Christian Living Classes continue at 9:30 am on Sundays for those who prefer a more structured hour of study.
The midweek rhythm is a deliberate extension of OFAs philosophy that faith grows best in community. Most groups meet on church grounds, although some community and interest groups meet in homes throughout the area. The groups page lists four broad categories: Community Groups, Interest Groups, Serve Groups, and Wednesday Groups, with Christian Living Classes as a fifth option on Sunday mornings. Anyone interested can fill out a short form online and be matched with a group that fits.
OTown Kids
OTown Kids is the childrens ministry of Owasso First Assembly, designed to help kids connect to Jesus through age-appropriate environments. The ministry partners with parents to see children know, worship, and serve Jesus while building meaningful friendships with peers and volunteers. Programs run on Sundays at 10:30 am and Wednesdays at 6:30 pm.
Three distinct classrooms serve the children of Owasso First. The Nursery welcomes infants through preschool with four classes divided by age and development. Preschool rooms give younger children space to play games, create art, sing along with energetic worship, and learn Bible stories tailored to their stage. K-5th graders meet in their own space for friendship, worship, small groups, and teaching aimed at showing them who God is and what the Bible says. Child safety is a priority, and a detailed check-in process on the first visit reassures parents that their children are well cared for.

OFA Youth
Middle school and high school students at Owasso First find three weekly touchpoints designed to help them connect to Jesus and build friendships that become family. The Sunday Morning Class meets at 9:30 am in the Youth Building for a short teaching and discussion centered on Gods Word. The Sunday Night Group meets at 6 pm, typically in a host home. The Wednesday midweek service at 6:30 pm brings students together for fun, time with friends, and a message from the Bible that connects with their stage of life.

Groups, Men, and Ladies
Small groups sit at the heart of life at Owasso First. The Groups ministry exists to help people find authentic biblical community, and four flavors of group meet across the week. Community Groups are the main pathway for people to do life together; Interest Groups gather around shared hobbies and seasons; Serve Groups focus on living on mission together; and Wednesday Groups meet on church grounds in the midweek window. Christian Living Classes at 9:30 am on Sundays add a more classroom-style option.
OFA Men exists to challenge and equip men in every season of life. A weekly Mens Bible Study meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, and the ministry also hosts periodic events that encourage men to fellowship and serve side by side. Mens Ministry is led by Staff Evangelist Neil Kennedy.
OFA Ladies is designed for women of all ages to grow in their walk with the Lord together. A weekly Ladies Bible Study gathers on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, and the ministry hosts special events throughout the year. Both mens and ladies ministries flow into the broader groups culture at OFA, where serving together is presented as a natural outgrowth of belonging.
OFA Hispano
Under the leadership of Pastor Francisco Monroy, OFA Hispano serves the Hispanic community connected to Owasso First. The ministry reflects the congregations broader vision of welcoming people from all walks of life and providing a safe place to experience life change through biblical community. Services and gatherings are held in Spanish, complementing the English-language ministries of the church.
What OFA Believes
Owasso First Assembly holds to the Assemblies of God statement of faith, sometimes called the 16 Fundamental Truths. The church teaches that the Bible is Gods accurate, authoritative, and applicable Word; that one God exists eternally in three Persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and that Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man, the only one who can reconcile us to God. Communion is observed in remembrance of his sinless life, atoning death, and resurrection.
The church teaches that sin has separated each person from God and that forgiveness comes through repentance, faith in Jesus Christ, and submission to his will. Baptism in water and being filled with the Holy Spirit are taught as part of a holy, fruitful, and Spirit-empowered life. OFA also teaches that God has equipped every believer and gathered the church as his living body to worship him, strengthen the church, and share the Gospel in the local community, and that Jesus Christ will return as promised to rule and reign, with the wicked judged and the righteous entering a new heaven and a new earth.
Serve, Missions, and Pizza with the Pastors
Saved people serve people - that is the refrain on the Serve page. Owasso First maintains a broad set of volunteer teams across Guest Experience, Campus Support, OTown Kids, Xtreme Youth, Music, Media and Production, and Groups. Each team has a clear role, from being the first to welcome guests and help them find a seat to operating cameras, lights, and sound for worship.
The Missions ministry supports outreach beyond Owasso, and a dedicated Missions page describes the churchs efforts to share the Gospel locally and globally. Beyond Sundays and Wednesdays, Owasso First offers several ways to stay engaged. The Church Center app puts events, giving, group sign-ups, and the OTown Kids check-in process in one place. Messages are posted to a YouTube playlist, and a printed sermon notes archive is available for those who like to follow along on paper. Right Now Media is offered as a free resource with more than 20,000 discipleship videos for kids, youth, parents, couples, college students, single adults, and working professionals.
A prayer page invites anyone with a prayer need to submit a request that the staff, deacons, and prayer team will personally pray over. Giving is available online, through the Church Center app, by text message, or by mail. Baptism services happen three or four times a year and are presented as the natural next step after a decision to follow Jesus. Child dedication is offered for parents who want to publicly commit to raising their child in Gods ways, with each family receiving a personalized dedication certificate, a Bible, and a small toy.
