A Healing Community in Aurora
New Nation Church gathers at 2001 Jamaica Street in Aurora, Colorado, with a vision that places healing and empowerment at the center of everything it does. The church describes itself as a healing community transforming unhelpful spiritual, relational, career, and healthy lifestyle patterns, rooted in the Word of God, intentional loving relationships, spiritual formation, and education. Its motto, Empowering Ten-Thousand Families to Prosper, captures both the heart of the ministry and the scale it is reaching toward.
Sundays: Bible Study and Worship
Sunday mornings at New Nation move from study to celebration. Bible study begins at 9:30 a.m., offering a teaching time that walks through a structured curriculum. Lesson titles have included Before God Said a Word, One Accord One Place, Renewing the Mind, Do You Want to Be Made Well, Liberty to the Captives, Put on the Whole Armor, and You Shall Be Witnesses, taught by Dr. Arthur A. Porter Sr. Worship follows the Bible study, with the service starting at 11:15 a.m. Visitors are warmly invited to join in person at the Jamaica Street location. Sermon recordings are posted to the church's YouTube channel, so those who cannot attend can follow along at home.
Wednesday Night Empowerment
Midweek, the church gathers again for the Wednesday Night Empowerment at 7:00 p.m. Participants are described as a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, quoting 1 Peter 2:9. The Wednesday gathering is positioned as an equipping time, a place to pursue spiritual growth, share in conversation, and strengthen the relationships the church calls the backbone of transformation.
Morning Prayer and Friday Fellowship
Morning Prayer takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 a.m., giving early risers a chance to begin the day in prayer. Fellowship Groups, known as E-Groups, meet on the third Friday of each month from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. These small groups gather around shared interests, Bible studies, and activities, and are described as the place where life change and spiritual growth happens at New Nation.
Children and Youth
New Nation has built a full pipeline of ministries for the next generation. Little Light of Promise serves toddlers and nursery-age children up to four years old. Children of Promise welcomes kids ages five through eleven, with children's church held in a dedicated area every Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. Joshua Generation II ministers to middle school students, and Joshua Generation focuses on high schoolers, with programs designed to build spiritual stability through study, Scripture meditation, and prayer.
Beyond Sunday programming, the church partners with the Youth Success Program, a tutoring initiative that supports students academically. The message throughout these ministries is consistent: walk alongside families, teach biblical truth, and provide role models who show young people what it looks like to follow Jesus.
Men, Women, and Family Ministries
For adults, the church has organized distinct ministries for men, women, couples, and singles. Man of Image exists to build brotherhood and solidarity among the men of the church and to help them understand their role as men of God at home, on the job, and in the community. Women of Thirst Quenchers ministers to women in Aurora, Denver, and beyond, and includes signature events such as the Diva Diamond Christmas Party and Encounter Retreats.
Married and single adults each have ministries built around workshops, retreats, and programs for growth and empowerment. Mentor ministries round out the picture: Son of Image helps boys ages eight through eighteen grow with male mentors, while Daughters of Thirst Quenchers offers the same kind of supportive, accountable community for girls in the same age range.
The Empowerment Course and Pathway to Purpose
One of the more distinctive offerings at New Nation is the Empowerment Course, a purpose-focused experience with follow-up discussion. The course addresses how trauma affects the soul and walks participants through safety, compassion, mind transformation, and a clear understanding of purpose. The church teaches that trauma, violence, alone-ness, and loneliness are at the root of much illness, depression, addiction, suicide, and premature death, and frames the course as a transformational environment built on vital relationships.
For those ready to commit to membership, Pathway to Purpose (P2P) introduces newcomers to the church's vision, mission, and purpose. New members are strongly encouraged to attend the class, which equips them to live in a way that God is glorified and they are blessed to live free of stress, strain, and worry.
Service Teams
New Nation lives out the conviction that everyone contributes to its vision. Four main teams carry out this vision: Prayer (Intercessors, Prayer Chain, Prayer Group), Worship (Greeters, Ushers, Praise Team), Fellowship (the full slate of children's, youth, men's, women's, married, and single ministries), and Education (Pathway to Purpose and Sunday School). An Evangelism Team adds Bridge Events such as the Labor Day Bar-B-Q, Hallelujah Night, community outreach, and the Christmas Toy Giveaway, along with Publications and Public Relations.
Intercessors lead prayer during services and pray with people at the close of gatherings. The Prayer Chain is a volunteer network that prays for urgent needs by phone. Ushers welcome the congregation, help with seating, collect the offering, and assist in emergencies. The Praise Team's commitment is summed up in John 4:23-24: worship the Father in spirit and in truth.
Giving and Worship
The church teaches that tithing - giving the first ten percent - is an act of worship anchored in Malachi 3:8-10 and 2 Corinthians 9:6-8. Offerings above the tithe are welcomed as well. Each Sunday, time is set aside during worship to receive an offering, and online giving is available for those who prefer it. The church teaches that giving with a heart focused on excellence is giving from a mental disposition of love and intensive emotional attachment for God and His future Kingdom, pursued with promptness and excitement.
Reaching the Community
Bridge Events are the church's main avenue for reaching beyond its walls. The Labor Day Bar-B-Q, Hallelujah Night, community outreach efforts, and the Christmas Toy Giveaway are designed to evangelize and bring together the community of unbelievers and the church. Underneath all of it runs the conviction expressed in Romans 12:5-6: many members form one body in Christ, each using the gifts grace has given.
From Sunday Bible study and worship to Wednesday empowerment, Tuesday and Thursday morning prayer, and Friday fellowship groups, the rhythm of life at New Nation Church in Aurora ties every gathering back to the same purpose: to empower every person spiritually, relationally, educationally, and physically, and to see ten thousand families prosper.
