A Family-Focused Ministry on Main Street
Latrobe Community Ministries sits at 440 Main Street in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, where the tagline "Doing Life Together" shapes everything from Sunday services to Wednesday night dinners. The ministry describes itself as family-focused, welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds, and centered on building strong relationships as the congregation grows in faith and serves its community together. Online giving is available through Tithe.ly, and the church office can be reached at (724) 537-8141 or mainoffice@latrobecm.com.
Sunday Mornings at Two Services
Worship is held twice on Sunday morning at the Latrobe campus. The 8:00 a.m. service features anthems sung by the LCM Choir, and the 11:00 a.m. service includes a children's dismissal during the message so kids can head to their own lesson in the Kids Ministry wing. Both services are livestreamed on the church's YouTube channel, and the same channel hosts an archive of past sermons for anyone who wants to revisit a teaching.
At 9:30 a.m., between the two services, Sunday School gathers for children in the Kids Ministry wing.
Wednesday Family Night
Every Wednesday evening, the church gathers at the Latrobe campus for Family Night, a midweek rhythm of food and formation that runs from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. A free dinner is served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and Bible study classes for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade, youth in sixth through twelfth grade, and adults run from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Two adult class options are offered, and the dinner and classes are open to anyone, whether they have attended the church for years or are walking in for the first time. The Wednesday Hotdog Lunch, held during the summer, is a similar casual weekly meal focused on fellowship.
Kid City: Disciples from the Start
Kid City is the children's ministry from birth through fifth grade, held in the Kids Ministry wing. The wing's doors stay locked while children are in session to keep everyone safe. The ministry runs from a four-part vision shaped by the church's larger call to make, mature, mobilize, and multiply disciples of Jesus Christ in the Latrobe community and beyond. In Kid City, Make means teaching the Word of God clearly and consistently, creating a culture of prayer and worship, and walking with children over the long term. Mature means emphasizing relationships over rules, growing in faith through community and intentionality. Mobilize means modeling what it looks like to share God's love and giving kids practical tools to share the Gospel with friends and strangers. Multiply means equipping children to live out their faith as a light in the world, showing them that one spark can start a revival of people surrendering their hearts to the Lord. Sunday programming includes Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and a children's lesson at 11:00 a.m. (after dismissal from worship). Wednesday night classes for kindergarten through fifth grade run from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Kid City partners with parents to help children know Jesus personally, follow Him daily, and share His love with others.
Foundation 267 for Teens
Foundation 267 is the youth ministry for students in sixth through twelfth grade. The name reflects the church's desire to help every graduating senior leave with a firm foundation of faith built on a relationship with Jesus Christ. The youth leader team focuses on community, intentional relationships, and accountability, walking alongside teenagers through their middle and high school years. Foundation 267 Nights gather on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., and the youth room serves as a regular hub for teen fellowship throughout the week.
Small Groups and the LCM Choir
Small groups of six to twelve people meet throughout the week for fellowship and Bible study. The ministry emphasizes that life groups are an essential part of the church's model, so each member of the congregation can be known and loved at a personal level. Each week small groups study a passage from the previous Sunday's sermon, allowing the congregation to dig deeper into the same Scripture together. Recent series have moved through Colossians, 1 Corinthians, John, Revelation, and Hebrews, covering passages like "Anchoring Our Faith" from Colossians 1, "The Good Shepherd" from John 10, and "The Resurrected Savior" from Revelation 1.
The LCM Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the choir room next to the sanctuary, with the season running from September through Mother's Day. Anthems are shared at the 8:00 a.m. service each week, and the choir prepares a Christmas Cantata each fall. Ellen Piper coordinates the choir program.
Meals That Bring the Community Together
Hospitality at Latrobe Community Ministries often shows up in the form of food. On the third Tuesday of every month from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., the New Derry Campus hosts a free community meal, with everyone invited to come hungry and bring a friend. Wednesday night dinners at the Latrobe campus are open to anyone who attends Family Night, and the summer Hotdog Lunch has become a weekly tradition. The ministry frames its work with a verse from Proverbs 19:17: "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed." Volunteer groups meet throughout the year to extend the church's reach into the wider Latrobe community, from helping at the meals to serving in other outreach efforts, and the office can connect anyone who wants to serve with the right opportunity.
