Lakeview Baptist Church at 2599 N Swinton Ave in Delray Beach, Florida, is known for a relaxed, friendly worship gathering shaped by blended music and practical, relevant messages. Its weekly rhythm includes worship at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, a Wednesday potluck and Bible study, and Haitian and Spanish ministries led by pastors Leslie Lafleur and Dario Acuna.
Sunday Worship at 11:00 a.m.
Lakeview describes each weekend gathering as relaxed and friendly, with exciting, blended worship music and a practical, relevant message. Sunday worship is held every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. People can wear whatever feels comfortable: the church says its services include everything from casual clothes to business dress. The emphasis is not on appearance or what someone wears, but on Jesus.
A Wednesday Meal, Bible Study, and Prayer
The Wednesday evening pattern begins with a potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m. Worship, devotion, and prayer follow at 6:15 p.m. Lakeview combines the shared meal with learning and fellowship, giving the middle of the week a regular time to assemble, study, and pray.
Haitian Ministry Led by Leslie Lafleur
The Haitian ministry meets on Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon under Leslie Lafleur. Originally from Haiti, Leslie began in ministry in 1983 at United Evangelique Church in the Turks and Caicos Islands. About two years later, he moved to the Bahamas and served at Bahamas Baptist Church. After moving to Florida, he served at Ebenezer Baptist Church before coming to Lakeview. He has spent many years in ministry to the Haitian community.
Spanish Ministry Led by Dario Acuna
Dario Acuna is pastor of the Spanish Ministry, Light for the Nations Baptist Church, at Lakeview. The ministry shares the church's property and serves the Spanish community. Dario began in ministry in 1988 and married Elizabeth in February 1989. They spent five years in seminary in Cuba, where he earned a bachelor's degree in theology from Evangelical Seminary of Theology in Matanzas in 2000. He was ordained a Methodist pastor that year. After serving in Cuba through 2003, the couple moved to South Florida, where Dario pastored several churches before joining Lakeview's Spanish ministry.
Reaching Up, In, and Out
Lakeview exists to glorify God and exalt Jesus Christ through three connected directions. Reaching up is worship and prayer: giving sincere, heartfelt praise through singing, prayer, and calling on God, with the goal of a deeply personal connection with the Lord. Reaching in is discipleship and fellowship within the Lakeview family, described as assembling, learning from one another, meeting needs, and bringing every believer toward maturity in Jesus Christ. Reaching out is evangelism and ministry: telling others what God has done, making disciples through the gospel in word and deed, and meeting needs through love, service, and benevolence.
The mission is grounded in Psalm 100:2's call to worship with joyful songs, John 13:35's command to love one another, and Matthew 28:19-20's instruction to go and make disciples of all nations.
