Lake Havasu Baptist Church has been a steady presence on the north side of Lake Havasu City since 1968, when three couples from the Midwest joined the first wave of congregations to build on land made available by Robert McCulloch. LHBC was one of the first five churches to commit to building in town. More than fifty years later, the church remains a multi-generational body with a simple goal: a place where anyone can come, feel welcomed, feel at home, feel at peace, and most importantly feel the presence of God.
Sunday Worship at 10:30 AM
Worship services are held every Sunday at 10:30 AM. Visitors can expect powerful worship, compelling Bible teaching, and an opportunity to encounter God. The dress code is "come as you are"; jeans and a t-shirt fit right alongside a suit and dress. The relaxed atmosphere extends to children as well, since families are encouraged to bring their kids into the rhythm of the gathering.
Childcare is provided during all Sunday morning programs for nursery and preschool children. Children in kindergarten through 6th grade attend Sunday school at the Kidz Zone counter in the Education Wing, with a secure sign-in procedure designed to keep every child safe.
Midweek Ministries for Every Age
The church's ministry calendar extends well beyond Sunday morning. The Youth Ministry for grades 7 through 12 meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8 PM in a setting that combines teaching, fellowship, and fun. Women's Ministry gathers for a weekly Bible study on Tuesdays at 9 AM, with additional luncheons and conferences through the year. Men's Ministry meets for a weekly Bible study on Tuesdays at 9 AM, alongside men's breakfasts and other events.
Anchor Groups: Life Together
For deeper community, LHBC organizes Anchor Groups, the church's small-group network where members encourage one another, grow in truth, and stand together through the storms of life. The groups are positioned as the primary pathway for people to do life together at LHBC, meeting in homes and at the church throughout the week.
The Meals Ministry
A practical expression of care takes shape through the Meals Ministry, which provides meals to families and individuals going through difficult seasons. Anyone interested in receiving meals can sign up through a form. The ministry also welcomes volunteers who want to help prepare or deliver food.
Baptisms at the Church and at the Lake
Baptism is treated as an outward expression of an inward change, and the church schedules baptisms at two locations: in the church building and at the lake. The lake setting is a fitting option for a congregation in Lake Havasu City.
Next Steps: Connection, Discovery, and Membership
Visitors who want to get more involved can fill out a Connection Card on Sundays (paper copies are also available at the welcome table in the lobby) and receive a free Bible. The Discovery Class walks newcomers through the church's core beliefs, the structure of the church, and what church membership means at LHBC. Those who complete the class can become members of the church, joining a multi-generational family that has served Lake Havasu City for over fifty years.
Statement of Faith and Affiliation
LHBC holds to an eight-point statement of faith covering the Word of God, the Trinity, God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, regeneration, the church, and the last things. The church teaches that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error; that God exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; and that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to establish His kingdom. LHBC is affiliated with Converge Worldwide and is part of Converge Southwest.
Pastors and Servant Leaders
Pastor Zack serves as the head pastor. A husband and father of two originally from Reno, Nevada, he joined the US Coast Guard in order to serve his country. His family enjoys hiking, backpacking, running, camping, and fishing. He graduated from Liberty University and has spent the last several years preaching the gospel, with a heart for the next generation and a passion to see people saved and changed by Christ.
Pastor Scott serves as associate pastor, originally from Tacoma, Washington. He has been married to his wife Kristina since they were 18, and spent over 20 years building houses before transitioning into healthcare as a Physical Therapist Assistant and then into real estate. He has served as a volunteer youth pastor and adult small group leader, with a deep passion for facilitating Bible studies and fellowship. He and Kristina have two adult children and seven grandchildren.
Five additional servant leaders round out the ministry team: Jimmy Soliz, Ken Salter, Gary Crocker, Al Hansen, and Scott Horton.
A Building with Fifty Years of History
The church's home at 2101 N Palo Verde Boulevard shows its history at a glance. The current fellowship hall was the original sanctuary, and the present worship center was built in 1983. LHBC continues to use both spaces for worship, education, and community life, and the layout reflects the growth of the congregation over the decades.
Messages, Giving, and Staying in Touch
Messages are available on the church's YouTube channel, and giving is available online. The church shares its calendar through Church Center and keeps in touch with members through a newsletter signup. Anyone needing prayer can submit a request, and the community can find LHBC on Facebook and Instagram.
