Jubilee Fellowship Church: A Non-Denominational Church in Centennial, Colorado

About Jubilee Fellowship Church

Empowering All Generations in Centennial

Jubilee Fellowship Church sits at 9359 E Nichols Avenue in Centennial, Colorado, on the south side of the Denver metro. The church's mission is simple and stated plainly: empowering all generations to experience life in Jesus. That phrase appears in the staff values and at the top of every ministry description, and it shapes everything from how children's rooms are organized to how global mission trips are run. Jubilee is non-denominational, family-centered, and committed to welcoming first-time guests with the same warmth it offers regular attenders.

A Story That Started in Highlands Ranch

Jubilee was established in 1998 in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Lead pastors John and Chris Leach planted the church with their family, then five children in tow, after God gave them the dream. The first gathering space was a year inside Cougar Run Elementary. As the church grew, the family moved into a storefront for four years, and in 2005 they broke ground on their own building in Lone Tree. From that base, Jubilee helped plant several other churches across the South Denver area. More recently, the congregation has settled into a new building that includes a ministry training center designed to multiply what the church calls the Kingdom of God even further.

The name itself comes from Leviticus 25, the season of Jubilee when, in Scripture, slaves were set free, debts were forgiven, and the blessings of God abounded. It is the same passage Jesus quoted in Luke 4:19 when He proclaimed the time of God's favor. That thread, freedom, restoration, and the overflowing favor of God, runs through everything Jubilee does.

What to Expect on a Weekend

Jubilee holds two weekend services in the Worship Center. Saturday worship begins at 4:00 PM, and Sunday worship begins at 10:00 AM. Both services follow the same rhythm and are livestreamed for those who can't attend in person. The livestream is available on YouTube and Facebook Live, and the chat on Facebook has become a regular place for online attendees to greet each other and pray together.

Lead pastors John and Chris Leach put it this way: "We want every person who walks through the doors of Jubilee, or attends online to feel something special and unique, like no other place on Earth because that's how Jesus wants you to feel. We are a family centered community and offer a place for everyone."

Weekend services include Communion, congregational worship led by the Worship Team, and a message from one of Jubilee's teaching pastors. The current preaching rotation includes John Leach, his sons Daniel Leach and Jake Wood, Kate Matott, JJ Matott, Terry Hilgers, and David Blanchard. Guest teachers like Rita Springer and missionary speakers such as Dan Baumann also appear regularly. Each week a digital note sheet and a PDF of fill-in notes are posted, so attendees can engage with the message in the room or at home.

JKids: Birth Through 5th Grade

JKids meets at the same time as adult services, and the church has put a great deal of thought into how each age engages. Birth through Pre-K rooms are staffed by background-checked volunteers who lead age-appropriate curriculum, interactive worship with songs and movement, and creative Bible storytelling through live teachers and media. A nursing mother's room sits at the back of the auditorium, with a second one in the lobby by the Worship Center entrance.

Kindergarten through 2nd grade environments focus on energetic games, a Biblically-based lesson, and catchy songs that help children connect worship to everyday life. The 3rd through 5th grade room leans into the desire of preteens to belong. Kids build friendships with each other and with invested adults, then take on a Bible lesson that connects to real life. A separate Preteen section points families toward resources that bridge the gap between elementary and middle school.

JKids safety is taken seriously. Every volunteer has cleared a nationwide background check and role-specific training. Toys, classrooms, and supplies are cleaned and sterilized before, during, and after every service. Check-in runs through Planning Center, with each child receiving a name tag listing allergies and a randomly assigned security number; parents receive a matching tag that they show at pickup. If a child needs a parent during the service, the church texts the number on file. The Parent Cue App is offered for free to extend the weekend lessons through the week.

JSM Student Ministries

JSM, or Jubilee Student Ministry, walks with students in 6th through 12th grade. The aim is the same as the rest of the church: to empower every student to experience life in Jesus. Volunteers are a big part of why students feel free to show up as they are, and the ministry is always looking for more. JSM meets on Wednesdays for youth group and runs occasional retreats such as Turn and Burn, a weekend held at Sky Ranch Horn Creek in Westcliffe, designed for students to get away from the noise, build friendships, and come home different.

Freedom Ministries

Freedom Ministries is a deliverance ministry at Jubilee dedicated to helping people find freedom from spiritual bondage. The teams see Christ as the source of freedom from fear, addiction, past trauma, and other oppressions. Several ongoing groups serve specific needs, and all inquiries are kept confidential.

Breaking Chains, meeting Tuesdays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, helps those whose marriages are broken or who struggle with addiction (drugs, alcohol, pornography, gambling). The group's foundation is John 8:36: "So, if the Son sets you free, you are truly free."

Alabaster Vessels, Wednesdays from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, is for women walking through the brokenness of abuse. Drawn from Luke 7:37-50, the group walks participants through the journey from hurt to the value God places on them.

Setting Captives Free runs in two weekly groups, a Wednesday morning group from 10:15 AM to 11:30 AM and a Thursday evening version. Both address unforgiveness, offense, bitterness, betrayal, depression, fear, anxiety, rejection, and abandonment. Isaiah 61:1 is the anchor text.

A 12-week Spiritual Warfare Class is offered twice a year, in the fall (August through mid-November) and the winter-spring session (early January to late July). It runs from 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM or 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM in the Training Center Classrooms and feeds into the S.W.O.D. Team, the Spiritual Warfare Offensive/Defensive Team, which meets the last Tuesday of every month from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Men's Ministry

The Men's Ministry at Jubilee is a year-round community built around Bible study, breakfast, and shared activities. Fall and spring Bible studies address real-life issues and create space for vulnerability. Recent offerings include "Sexual Integrity in a Fallen World" on Tuesday evenings and "Timeless Truths: A Study on the Book of Hebrews" on Wednesday nights. A long-standing monthly Men's Breakfast meets the first Saturday of each month at Benedict's Restaurant in Greenwood Village from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Golf nights at Top Golf and bowling nights give men regular, easy ways to connect. Fired Up is a Saturday morning group that meets the needs of men in transition: divorce, job loss, military separation, retirement. The Men's Gathering is a quarterly evening of worship, encouragement, ministry time, and a meal in the Jubilee Youth Room.

Women's Ministry

Women's ministry offers several Bible studies each season. Fall studies rotate between morning and evening groups in classrooms around the building. Current offerings include a Thursday evening Mentor and Discipleship study, a Thursday morning Secret Garden Bible Study in the JSM Room, and the Thursday morning Jubilee Mom's Bible Study in Classroom 3. The Jubilee Mom's Ministry also meets as a community group on the third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM in the Jubilee Church Lobby. The Women's Christian Book Club gathers on the last Sunday of every month from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Storey House. Becca Storey fields questions about ongoing studies including Ezekiel, Warring with Wisdom, Not a Fan, Find Your People, Unsinkable, and others.

Missions: Local and Global

Missions at Jubilee is led by Pastor Saby Thomas and Associate Missions Pastor Ryan Joseph. Saby grew up in a Christian family in India, came to faith young, served with Operation Mobilization in India, and pastored an Indian church in Lakewood before planting Hands of Mercy Ministries with his wife. Ryan spent years with YWAM, led teams to India, Turkey, Oman, and South Africa, and now serves as the on-call pastor and events coordinator.

The church runs a calendar of short-term trips each year, including Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Panama, Kenya, India, and a regular Jubilee Local Mission Trip that heads into downtown Denver. Trips partner with long-term missionaries and ministries: Child Beyond International in Guatemala, YWAM and the Gephart family on Hispaniola, Lost Children of Peru, New Life International House of Prayer Ministries in Panama, HEART in Kenya, and Hands of Mercy Ministries in India.

Locally, Jubilee supports Bridge of Hope Greater Denver (single mothers and their children moving out of homelessness), Open Door Ministries (practical help for homeless and low-income neighbors in urban Denver), 20D Ministries (street ministry in Denver), Alternatives Pregnancy Center, and MasterWorX, a quarterly gathering for Christian business professionals. Jubilee also has a growing Local and Global Partners network that includes David and Donna Blanchard with Victorious Christian Harvesters, Jan Thompson with Christopher's Hope Ministry in Haiti, Franklin Bryant with YWAM Louisville, and Olivia VanGels serving with YWAM in New Zealand.

The 15-week Perspectives course, run on the church campus with Pastor Saby Thomas as the contact, walks through the Biblical, Historical, Cultural, and Strategic dimensions of God's global purpose. It is a popular on-ramp for those considering longer service.

What the Church Believes

Jubilee holds a balanced evangelical statement of faith. Members affirm unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials, and love in all beliefs (a paraphrase of Ephesians 4 and Romans 14). The Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God and the supreme and final authority in matters of faith and life. Salvation is by grace through faith in the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, was raised from the dead, and now sits at the right hand of the Father as true God and true man.

God is one and reveals Himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit fills each believer at salvation as a source of strength, assurance, and wisdom, and distributes spiritual gifts for the common good when exercised in balance and order. The church universal is made up of all who acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior and is called to identify regularly with other believers. Water baptism by immersion and Communion are both practiced as ordinances of faith, baptism as a public profession of faith and Communion as a remembrance and celebration of what Christ accomplished on the cross. Jubilee also affirms the personal, imminent return of the Lord and the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust.

Resources for the Whole Family

Every member of the Jubilee family gets free access to RightNow Media, a streaming library of more than 25,000 Bible-study videos for every age, family, small group, and student. Whether someone is using a series for personal devotions or working through a study with a JGroup, the resource is designed to support growth every day of the week.

Pastoral counseling is available through Jubilee, and prayer requests can be submitted online. The church also hosts a Testimony wall and shares a podcast with both audio and on-demand video on YouTube, going back several years, with links to even older messages through the iTunes archive.

Serve and Belong

Volunteers are the engine at Jubilee. Guest Services teams cover hosting, greeting, ushering, and the parking lot. The Coffee Bar team, or Bean Team, is more about people than coffee. JKids and JSM welcome leaders who want to invest in the next generation. The Worship Team, Production and Tech Team, Prayer Team, Security Team, Facilities Team, and Stewardship of Service (S.O.S.) helps ministry all have room for new faces. Freedom Ministries trains volunteers to walk alongside those coming out of bondage. The All-Stars Club serves individuals with special needs and gives their parents and caregivers a night of rest. Angel Tree blesses children of incarcerated parents at Christmas.

The Jubilee Business Directory

One distinctive piece of life here is the Business Directory, a list of businesses run by people who are part of the Jubilee family. Categories run from real estate brokers and mortgage lenders to event planners, photographers, physical therapists, HVAC specialists, jewelers, and life coaches. Members are encouraged to support one another's work and to register their own businesses to be included.

Non-Cash Giving and Legacy

Jubilee accepts giving online, by mail, or in person at the church office, and the church also supports non-cash gifts. Members can donate stocks, bonds, and mutual funds directly; give property such as homes, cars, motorcycles, boats, jewelry, or artwork; donate cryptocurrency including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin; name Jubilee as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or as part of estate planning; and make qualified charitable donations from an IRA. A Legacy Commitment option is available for those wanting to extend their generosity across years.
