Jackson Revival Center sits on Terry Road on the west side of Jackson, Mississippi, where a non-denominational congregation gathers under the banner of being a New Testament Church committed to reconciling people to God through the teaching of Scripture. The church, pastored by Jennifer R. Biard, is a rapidly growing and ethnically diverse congregation drawing families, professionals, and students from across the metro area.
A Family Legacy Behind the Pulpit
Jackson Revival Center was founded by Dr. Raymond O. Biard, and the ministry remains shaped by his family. His daughter, Jennifer R. Biard, was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel in 1996, served as assistant pastor beginning in 2003, and was later appointed Senior Pastor. Before stepping fully into the pulpit, she worked as a Mental Health Technician with the Mississippi State Hospital and as a Day Treatment Therapist and Counselor with the Hinds County Human Resource Agency's Adolescent Offender Program, experience that continues to inform the church's counseling and recovery work.
Pastor Biard's ministry has reached well beyond Mississippi. She has preached and taught in Haiti, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, the Bahamas, England, and France, and has been honored as a 2022 Women's History Month Community Impact Honoree, a 2023 United Way of the Capital Area Woman of Excellence, and the 2023 Pastor of the Year at the Jackson Music Awards. She is a woman driven to love God and to love His people.
Sunday Mornings and Wednesday Nights
The church's worship rhythm centers on two weekly services. Sunday morning worship begins at 9:00 AM and is offered in person at the Terry Road campus and online. A second service runs on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM, also in person and online, during the spring and early fall months. Both services are livestreamed on YouTube, and recordings remain available on the church's channel for those who want to catch up later.
The style pulls on a wide range of arts. The Worship Arts ministry includes a choir, theatre, dance, mime, and a band, so a given Sunday may feature music, movement, and dramatic expression alongside preaching. The atmosphere is welcoming and expressive rather than performative.
Revival Kids, GenNOW, and Little Ambassadors
Children are a visible part of Sunday morning at Jackson Revival Center. Revival Kids meets every Sunday at 9:00 AM for ages five through twelve, except on the first Sunday of the month when children join the main service. A nursery is provided every Sunday for children from six weeks old through age four, so parents can drop off little ones knowing there is a dedicated space for them.
Teenagers are served through GenNOW, which meets on the second and fourth Sundays of the month for ages thirteen through eighteen. A separate Young Adults ministry gives college-aged and early-career members a place to connect with peers in the same stage of life.
A few miles from the main campus, at 519 W. Silas Brown Street, Little Ambassadors Developmental Learning Center operates as a separate nonprofit preschool serving inner-city children in Jackson. The learning center is part of the same family of ministries as the church and shares its phone line (601-948-1875).
Growth Track: Salvation, Baptism, and the Next Step
New and longtime members are invited into the church's Growth Track, a four-part orientation that covers what Jackson Revival Center believes, how it operates, and how to connect with others through small groups. Sessions run several times a year.
For those at the very beginning of faith, the church offers a downloadable Plan of Salvation explaining the basics of becoming a Christian. Baptism is presented as the next step, with online registration available to begin the conversation.
More Than Twenty-Five Ministries Under One Roof
More than twenty-five active ministries operate under the church's umbrella, and the breadth is part of who Jackson Revival Center is. They include Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered twelve-step program, and Grief Share for those mourning a loss. Marriage Ministry supports couples, while the Congregational Care Team and Prayer ministry reach out to members during illness, hospitalization, and other needs.
For children and teens there is the nursery and toddler program, Revival Kids, GenNOW, and Inspiration Station. Men gather through The MoveMENt, women through Joyful Ladies, and seniors through Seasoned Saints. Hospitality covers repast and bereavement meals, and the Food Network helps with food assistance. Other named ministries include the Faith Bible Institute for deeper study, Outreach and Evangelism, Guest Services, Health and Wellness, JRC Legal, Facilities and Maintenance, Media, Parking, Transportation, and Team Connect, the small-groups pipeline. Worship Arts pulls musicians, actors, dancers, mimes, and singers into one umbrella, and CROP, the Congregational Recovery Outreach Program, extends the church's recovery work into the wider city.
A Network of Nonprofits Reaching Beyond the Walls
Outside the church walls, the Biard family has built a small network of community organizations with overlapping missions. Little Ambassadors Developmental Learning Center provides early childhood education in an inner-city neighborhood. Hearts of Compassion Independent Living for Seniors was inspired by the vision of Jennifer's mother, Dorothy L. Biard, and serves older adults. The Corporation for Global Community Development, a separate nonprofit, promotes growth and development in low- to moderate-income communities throughout Mississippi.
Planning a First Visit
Visitors can fill out a Plan Your Visit form so the team can be ready to greet them. Online connection is easy. The livestream runs on YouTube, online giving is available by card or bank draft, and PayPal donations are accepted as well. Recurring gifts can be set up through the church's giving platform. Text-to-give is available by sending the keywords JRCT (tithe), JRCO (offering), or JRCBUILD (building fund) to 28950.
Jackson Revival Center keeps an active presence on Facebook and Instagram, sharing event photos, updates, and short-form videos for members near and far. The church's invitation to any guest is the same: a place to be accepted and encouraged to grow in God's love.
