Worship Schedule
Israelite Church of God in Christ gathers on Sundays and Wednesdays at 123 Security Boulevard in southeast Colorado Springs. Sunday School meets at 10 a.m. over Zoom, followed by Morning Worship at noon in person and online. Wednesday brings two prayer and teaching times: a Mid-Week Morning Refill at 10 a.m. (virtual) and a Mid-Week Evening Refill at 7 p.m. (in person and online). The congregation has carried its Pentecostal worship on the city's southeast side for more than half a century, founded by Bishop Roosevelt Dunn and Mrs. Dunn and continued today by their son, Pastor Earnest M. Dunn, and First Lady Dorcia Dunn.
What the Church Believes
The church confesses a classic Pentecostal faith. Members hold that the Bible is the inspired and only infallible written Word of God, that there is one God eternally existent in three persons, and that repentance and faith in the blood of Jesus Christ is the only means of being cleansed from sin. They affirm that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is essential for personal salvation and that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body through believing prayer. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask, and the sanctifying power of the Spirit enables Christians to live a holy and separated life. The church also looks for the blessed Hope - the rapture of the Church of God at Christ's return.
Membership, Discipleship, Partnership
Everything at Israelite COGIC is built on three commitments. Membership rests on the consistent teaching of the Word through Sunday School, Bible Study, and Sunday Morning Worship. Discipleship extends that teaching through daily television and radio broadcasts, strategic evangelism across Colorado Springs, and a livestreaming center that carries the gospel onto social media. Partnership takes the church outward through relationships with Home and Foreign Missions, the children's outreach Little Theo's World, and Care Portal.
Kingdom Life Small Groups
Kingdom Life is the church's small group ministry, with settings for children, youth, young adults, singles, married couples, the divorced, seniors, men, and women. The women's group, called Girl Talk, is led by First Lady Dorcia Dunn. The men's group, called The Locker Room, is led by Elder Billy Williams. Both groups meet under the wider Kingdom Life umbrella.
Little Theo's World
Children are nurtured through Little Theo's World, the church's children's ministry led by Sister Felicia Johnson. It is also one of the church's named mission partnerships, extending the congregation's care for families both locally and abroad.
Open Hands Food and Clothing Pantry
The Open Hands Food and Clothing Pantry opens to the public on the first and third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Missionary Tarrial Harding oversees this neighborhood outreach, which provides both groceries and clothing to anyone in need.
Care Portal and Mission Partnerships
Through Care Portal, Elder Corey Davis Sr. helps connect the church with underserved families in the Colorado Springs area, addressing tangible needs identified case by case.
Decision Time Broadcast
Decision Time Enterprises is the media ministry of Israelite Church of God in Christ. The Decision Time program airs daily on television and radio stations across the country, carrying Bible teaching to listeners and viewers well beyond Colorado Springs.
