Hamilton Hills Church meets at 10293 East 126th Street in Fishers, Indiana, a Hamilton County suburb north of Indianapolis where a two-tiered Sunday gathering welcomes neighbors who are curious about faith, returning to it after a long break, or already deep into following Jesus. The church's motto, "Life is messy. Everyone is welcome. Anything is possible," shapes everything from how newcomers are greeted to how Scripture is taught. Its stated purpose is to multiply authentic, Christ-centered communities that equip people to bring the Good News to those in the front row of their lives, what the church calls an Oikos, the Greek New Testament word for household or inner circle. Three Sunday services plus a Tuesday rhythm of prayer and fasting structure the week around a steady diet of Scripture, worship, community, and service.
Sundays at 9:15 AM and 10:45 AM
Hamilton Hills offers two morning services each Sunday, at 9:15 AM and 10:45 AM, in the worship center on 126th Street. Each service runs about 60 to 75 minutes and blends uplifting music with a message that connects faith to everyday life. The atmosphere is relaxed. People show up in everything from jeans and t-shirts to business casual, and visitors are encouraged to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to grab a coffee, check in kids if needed, and find a comfortable seat, though nobody minds if you slip in a few minutes late. The service is livestreamed on the church's YouTube channel and into a family room just outside the auditorium, where parents can step out with little ones without missing anything.
HH Kids through HH Students
A continuous track of age-appropriate ministry runs alongside Sunday gatherings. Parents find welcoming volunteers at the check-in area, and the rooms are designed so children feel known and safe.
HH Kids welcomes children from toddler through elementary age during both Sunday services. The aim is to inspire a new generation to deepen their understanding of Jesus, make lasting friendships, and have a blast every step of the way. Each Sunday includes age-appropriate Bible storytelling, interactive games, crafts, and a worship time built around music and movement. Activities are designed not only to engage children but to help them see how biblical truths apply to daily life. Parents receive resources and updates to keep faith conversations going at home.
HH 56 is the junior high ministry for fifth and sixth graders, meeting at 10:45 AM on Sunday mornings. The room is built around team challenges, group competitions, and energetic games that break the ice and spark friendships. Leaders model Christ-like behavior and call the space a No Judgement Zone, where students can express thoughts, ask hard questions, and share struggles without fear of criticism. Students who are still figuring out who they are and what they believe are welcomed as they are.
HH Students gathers separately on Sunday nights from 5:00 to 7:00 PM for seventh through twelfth graders. The Student Director, Ryan Lopez, leads a community that anchors itself in three values. Spiritual Formation, the conviction that everyone is being shaped by something and the goal is to be shaped together into the likeness of Jesus. "Anyone Alone is an Emergency," a non-negotiable commitment to a culture where every student is seen, known, and valued. And fun, taken seriously through games, hangouts, and big events that draw students into community. Parents can sign up for regular email updates to stay in the loop on what is coming up.
Family Values: Discovery, Renewal, Generosity, Multiplication
Hamilton Hills describes its culture around four family values that show up in the language used across the church.
Discovery happens here. The church believes faith is a journey and wants to be a safe space for people at any stage of it. Whether someone is asking tough questions or trying to deepen their grasp of Scripture, the invitation is the same: from curious to committed, you belong.
Renewal happens here. Life wears people down, but the church teaches that God brings new life and fresh beginnings. That shows up in hope for difficult seasons, restored relationships, and spiritual breakthrough that members say they experience together rather than just talk about.
Generosity happens here. Generosity is more than finances; it is a way of living with open hands. Members serve neighbors, support global missions, and give through Hamilton Hills so resources reach the broader mission of making Jesus known in the city, the country, and beyond.
Multiplication happens here. The church is committed to helping others discover Jesus and to equipping them to share their faith. The Oikos concept frames mission as investing in the people closest to you, family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors, so the impact multiplies outward rather than simply adding up inside the walls of a building.
What Hamilton Hills Believes
The church holds to a concise set of Christian convictions that shape its teaching and ministry.
- God. One God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ. The Son of God, fully divine and fully human, who came to save humanity through His life, death, and resurrection.
- Holy Spirit. Empowers believers for Christian living, guiding and equipping the church for ministry.
- The Bible. God's inspired and authoritative Word, revealing His will and purpose for our lives.
- Salvation. By grace through faith in Jesus Christ, available to all who believe.
- The Church. The body of Christ, called to worship, serve, and spread the message of the gospel.
- Baptism and Communion. Baptism as an outward expression of faith, and communion as a remembrance of Christ's sacrifice.
- Eternal Life. The return of Jesus Christ, eternal life for believers, and the promise of a new heaven and new earth.
Family Advocacy Ministry: Showing Up for Vulnerable Kids
Hamilton Hills partners with Hands of Hope through its Family Advocacy Ministry, known as FAM, to support at-risk children and families in the community. The work is hands-on: preserving foster, kinship, and biological families by meeting real needs, so children can experience the love of Jesus and see renewal in their own homes.
Four teams make up FAM. The Connection Team walks alongside families in need, offering encouragement and practical support. The Transportation Team helps move larger items such as furniture into the homes of families receiving help; volunteers need a truck and the ability to lift heavier items. The Encouragement Team creates gift baskets and writes heartfelt notes to families and child welfare workers to lift their spirits during hard seasons. The Inventory Team sorts and organizes donations, preparing items for delivery to children and families.
The ministry accepts donated children's and teen clothing and shoes (newborn through age 17), coats, hats, gloves, diapers and wipes, high chairs, booster seats, strollers, car seats (new only), bedding, cribs, twin and full beds, mattresses, and dressers, all in clean, good condition.
The Deacon Team and Caring for One Another
A team of deacons serves Hamilton Hills by walking alongside individuals and families through life's challenges, the practical, the spiritual, and the financial. The Greek word for deacon, diákonos, simply means servant, and that calling shapes the team's work. The deacons are Chris Kosegi, John Aoun, Todd Busman, Tom Covey, Nate Dennis, Seth Hartzell, Blake Hays, Jim McCord, Kyle Ray, and James Stembel.
When someone in the church family has a need, whether prayer or a visit, meals, home assistance like snow removal or lawn care, a conversation with a pastor, or financial help, they can confidentially request support through the deacon team.
Serving Through the Dream Team
Generosity is one of the church's core values, and serving is one of the main ways people get involved. The Dream Team gathers volunteers across several ministry areas. The HHKids Team invests in the next generation through the nursery, children's worship, and Sunday classes. The First Impressions Team, including a coffee team, creates a warm welcome by greeting, assisting with parking, and helping newcomers find their way. The Production Team runs audio, video, lighting, photography, and videography to support services and online teaching. The Prayer Team supports others through intercession and encouragement. The Worship Team leads congregational music through singing, instruments, and vocal support. FAM supports vulnerable children and families. Small-group hosts create Connection Groups that help newcomers get plugged in.
Volunteers complete an interest form, meet with a ministry leader, attend any necessary training, and shadow an experienced volunteer before stepping into their own role. Scheduling is flexible: volunteers approve their own schedule each week, and they can block out dates or decline requests to serve at any time.
A Tuesday Rhythm of Fasting
On the first and third Tuesday of every month, Hamilton Hills observes a church-wide fast. Members commit to fasting either for a single meal or for the entire day, dedicating that time to prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal. Each week during the fast, prayers are focused on a specific people group, lifting them up before God for grace, protection, and transformation.
The church treats the practice as a collective rhythm rather than a personal discipline, one that draws the congregation into dependence on God and unity around shared mission. It is paired with a wider thread of prayer events throughout the year, including Prayer and Worship Nights where families are encouraged to come together.
Teaching in Series, Archive Online
The teaching ministry at Hamilton Hills centers on extended sermon series that move book by book or theme by theme through Scripture. Recent series include Consider This (a walk through Jesus' words about the lilies, the ant, and the heavens), Love Where You Live, The Path, Exodus, I Doubt It, Burn the Ships, Mountaintops, and The Talk. Matt Thistle, the church's Vision and Teaching Pastor, preaches most weekends, with other pastors and visiting speakers filling the pulpit through a summer Friends & Family series.
A teaching library stretches back several years and is freely available online. Visitors who want to get a feel for the church before showing up can watch a recent service on the church's YouTube channel.
Hamilton Hills Preschool
Hamilton Hills runs its own preschool on the same 126th Street campus, serving families in the Fishers area with an early childhood program rooted in the church's faith and community. The preschool operates as a separate organization, with its own online presence for enrollment and information.
Generosity and Giving
Hamilton Hills teaches that members should give through the church, not just to it, so that generosity supports the greater mission of making Jesus known in the city, the country, and beyond. Giving can be done online through a bank account, the most cost-effective option, set up as a one-time or recurring gift. Cash and checks can be placed in offering boxes at the back of the worship center, dropped off at the church office during regular business hours, or mailed to 10293 E. 126th Street, Fishers, IN 46038.
Leadership and Governance
Matt Thistle serves as the Vision and Teaching Pastor. Scott Mercer leads Spiritual Formation and Missions. Brad Thuerbach oversees Worship and Care. Ty Hill leads the church's Lawrence Campus. Jordan Kasitz directs HH Kids, with Kirsten Lopez serving as HH Kids Assistant. Denise Thistle leads the Women's Ministry, which gathers through Sisterhood events. Ryan Lopez is the Student Director for HH Students. Sydnie Watts leads Production, and Lauren Roberts leads Connections.
A board of elders provides spiritual oversight: Tom Salsbury, Tim Miller, Seth Wilson, Matt Thistle, Jamie Buening, Ryan Schaadt, and Darrell Howard. A deacon team of ten serves the practical, spiritual, and financial needs of the church family. The Teaching Pastor and other pastors teach and preach each week, and the church operates a second campus in Lawrence under Ty Hill's leadership.
Two Sunday morning services on 126th Street, a Sunday night youth gathering, a first-and-third-Tuesday fast, and ministries spanning from toddlers to the Family Advocacy Ministry make up the steady weekly rhythm at Hamilton Hills Church. The front-row mission, reaching the people closest to you with the love of Jesus, runs through every program, classroom, and team.
