Saturday Morning on Shallowford Road
Hamilton Community Church gathers each Saturday at 11:30 AM at 7997 Shallowford Road in Chattanooga. As a Seventh-day Adventist congregation, the church observes the Sabbath with a weekly worship service that is livestreamed on YouTube for those who cannot attend in person. The service, called the HCC Worship Service, runs roughly an hour and a half and includes music led by the Music and Production ministry team, with musicians, vocalists, and sound and lighting crews working together behind the scenes as well as on the platform.
A Mission to Connect the Disconnected
Hamilton Community Church exists to connect the disconnected to Jesus through loving, serving, and being a grace-filled church family. Over half of the congregation serves in some area of ministry. The church frames itself around six statements of intent: a church that feels like home, unified leadership, fellowship and growth, serving together, reaching the community, and providing a safe place to heal. Bible studies, evangelism events, worship nights, and outreach partnerships run throughout the year.
Tuesdays Around the Table
Every Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 6:30 PM, the church opens its doors for a free Community Dinner open to anyone in the area. Coordinated by Patrick Favors, the weekly meal is built around food and fellowship, and visitors are encouraged to bring friends and family. It is one of the most visible ways the church serves its neighbors on Shallowford Road and beyond.
Life Groups and Bible Studies
Life Groups form the core of the church's ministry for intentional community, spiritual growth, and shared faith. Coordinated by Steve, the groups are designed to help people move from being visitors to being family. Bible studies are available for those exploring Christianity, and baptism classes are offered through the church's membership pathway for those ready to take that next step.
Adventurers and Pathfinders
Children and teens have a long-standing Adventist tradition to grow into at Hamilton. Adventurers and Pathfinders meet twice a month from September through May, building friendships, learning about Jesus, and developing new skills. Sandy James oversees the program, with annual dues of $100 for new Adventurers and $150 for new Pathfinders. Financial assistance is available.
English as a Second Language
ESL classes meet every Sunday at 6:00 PM. The classes are open to anyone in the community who wants to improve their English, regardless of church membership.
Beds for Local Kids
Hamilton Community Church partners with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a volunteer organization that builds, assembles, and delivers bunk beds to children who would otherwise sleep on couches, blankets, or floors. Bob Hirschi leads the local chapter out of the church, connecting volunteers from the congregation and the wider Chattanooga area to this practical outreach.
Becoming Part of the Family
Those exploring Hamilton are invited to take a next step through the church's membership and baptism pathway. Forms are available for those interested in baptism or formally joining the congregation. Giving is supported through the Adventist Giving app, a black box in the lobby, and Cash App at $HCCSDA for loose offerings.
