A Family-Centered, Multicultural House on East Holt in Pomona
The Fountain Church International sits in a long, low building on East Holt Avenue in Pomona, California, just a short drive from the 10 freeway in the heart of the Inland Empire. From the outside, the building is unassuming, set among the auto shops, small markets, and quiet residential blocks that line the corridor east of downtown. Inside, however, the atmosphere is anything but quiet. The Fountain describes itself as a "family-centered, multicultural ministry" that "encourages long-lasting friendships and community relationships through fellowship, outreach, and just plain fun." The church's motto, repeated often by Senior Pastor Bishop Jarron C. O'Neal, is the line that ties the whole ministry together: "Everything You Need Is in the Fountain."
On any given Sunday morning, the parking lot fills with families, couples, and friends heading into the sanctuary for what the church calls its Sunday Morning Celebration. The service is designed to be a worship and "word encounter" that touches the matters of the heart, and visitors are welcomed with an open invitation: "We pray that you enjoy our services and leave feeling loved, encouraged, and wanting more." Bishop O'Neal has led the congregation since 2007, and the church he pastors - with his wife, Lady Crystal O'Neal, at his side - has become a hub for weekly worship, daily prayer, marriage ministry, youth and young adult gatherings, men's and women's fellowships, and a flagship annual conference that draws people from across the country.
The Senior Pastor and the Co-Founding Family
Bishop Jarron C. O'Neal is the senior pastor of The Fountain Church International. A native of the Inland Empire, he has served as the church's lead pastor for more than seventeen years and is referred to throughout the church simply as "Bishop." His messages, sermon series, and online Bible studies form the teaching backbone of the congregation, and the church's app and social media channels are built around his preaching. He and his wife, Lady Crystal O'Neal, are often seen ministering together, and Lady Crystal leads the IMAGE Couples Ministry, a marriage and dating ministry for adults.
The church was co-founded by Dr. Saundra O'Neal, often referred to as Prophet Saundra O'Neal. She is the mother of the late Pastor Saundra O'Neal's birthday is celebrated by the church each year, and her teachings are woven into the rhythms of the house. Dr. O'Neal hosts The Healing Lectures during seasonal emphasis weeks, leads prophetic teaching at the church's annual Prophetic Zone International Conference, and is a featured speaker and conference host. The Fountain's Co-Founder is honored each year on Founder's Day, observed each May.
The Fountain celebrated its 34th birthday in May 2021 and its 35th in May 2022, making 1987 its founding year. The building at 1100 East Holt Avenue has served as the home of the church through decades of growth, a building that the leadership team refers to as the Main Sanctuary.
The Sunday Rhythm: Sunday Morning Celebration and Sunday Night Live
The Fountain's weekly worship schedule centers on two Sunday services. The first, the Sunday Morning Celebration, gathers the congregation at 10:00 a.m. each week. The service is held in person at 1100 East Holt Avenue and is broadcast live on the Fountain app and on Facebook, with the broadcast also carried on YouTube. The morning gathering combines congregational worship, prayer, and a sermon from Bishop O'Neal. There is no fixed end time listed for the morning service, but it typically runs through the late morning.
The second Sunday service is Sunday Night Live, which begins at 6:00 p.m. and includes the celebration of communion. Sunday Night Live is held in person in the Main Sanctuary and is also livestreamed. The service has a more intimate, devotional feel, and communion is observed as part of the gathering. Communion elements are distributed at the church periodically through Communion Drive-Thru events held in the church parking lot on East Holt Avenue.
The Fountain is intentional about extending the worship experience to people who cannot attend in person. Every service is broadcast on the church's app and on social media, allowing members at home, in the hospital, or traveling to stay connected to the pulpit. Sermon recordings are also archived and made available through the church's Messages page, where the most recent message series from Bishop O'Neal are featured.
Rock w/ Me Wednesdays and the Wednesday Bible Study
On Wednesday evenings, The Fountain hosts what has become one of its signature online gatherings: Rock w/ Me Wednesday Bible Study. The teaching time begins at 7:30 p.m. and is led by Bishop O'Neal. The broadcast is online only and is available on the Fountain app, YouTube, and Facebook. The study is conversational and teaching-driven, and it has built a steady online audience of regulars and visitors who tune in from across the country.
Before the Wednesday Bible Study, the church gathers for a brief Wednesday Night Corporate Prayer at 7:00 p.m. The prayer gathering is open to the public and is held in person and on Zoom. It lasts roughly twenty-five minutes, ending at 7:25 p.m. to clear the way for the Bible study that follows. For those who cannot attend in the evening, the church also offers a Mid Day Watch Prayer every Wednesday at noon, a Zoom-based gathering for an hour of midday prayer and reflection.
Daily Prayer and the Friday Noon Corporate Prayer
Prayer is not a once-a-week activity at The Fountain; it is woven into the daily calendar. The church's tagline "All In The Fountain" shows up in the church's social media handles and in the way members describe their prayer commitment, and the prayer calendar reflects that. In addition to the Wednesday Mid Day Watch Prayer and Wednesday Night Corporate Prayer, the church gathers online every Friday at noon for the Friday Noon Corporate Prayer. The Friday gathering is held on Zoom and runs for one hour, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Zoom link is available through the Fountain app and on the events calendar.
For those who want a more intensive prayer experience, the church periodically hosts a Prayer Marathon, an extended in-person and online prayer gathering held in the Main Sanctuary. The Fountain also sets aside special times for seasonal prayer, including a Good Friday celebration and a National Day of Prayer gathering, both of which combine teaching, worship, and prayer.
SURGE Youth Ministry and the Next Generation
The Fountain takes the next generation seriously, and SURGE is the church's youth ministry for students in the sixth through twelfth grades. SURGE meets throughout the year with a regular rhythm that includes SURGE Tween Talk (grades 6 to 8) on select Wednesday evenings, SURGE Teen Talk (grades 9 to 12) on other Wednesday evenings, and SURGE Share, a youth-led worship and teaching time held on the second Wednesday of each month. SURGE Share and the various SURGE talks are held on Zoom, with the link distributed through the Fountain app and the SURGE Youth Team's email at surge@allinthefountain.com.
SURGE is more than a midweek meeting. The ministry organizes an annual calendar of events, including beach bonfires, holiday parties, winter retreats, and back-to-school gatherings. The youth team is led by a group of adult leaders and is overseen by the senior pastor. Parents are kept in the loop through parent meetings, and the church takes seriously the spiritual formation of its middle school and high school students. Vacation Bible School, held during the Prophetic Zone International Conference each summer, is also a part of the youth and family calendar, with programming for Pre-K through 5th grade held during the conference morning sessions.
Children's Ministry: Storytime and Children's Church
For the church's youngest members, The Fountain offers a dedicated children's ministry that has continued to grow in the years since the congregation moved out of the COVID-19 season. Children's Storytime is held every Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom. The hour is designed for children in Pre-K through 5th grade and includes age-appropriate teaching, stories, and a time of interaction. The Zoom link is available through the Fountain app under the Events tab.
On Sunday mornings, the church hosts Children's Church at 8:45 a.m., just before the main worship service begins. Children's Church is offered to children in Pre-K through 5th grade, giving parents the option of dropping their children off for an age-appropriate program before joining the main sanctuary for worship. Children's Church programming is planned and led by the Fountain Children's Ministry team.
IMAGE Couples Ministry
Marriage and dating relationships are a particular focus at The Fountain, and the IMAGE Couples Ministry is the church's primary ministry to married couples, engaged couples, and seriously dating couples who are wearing a ring. The ministry takes its name from the idea that marriage is an image of the relationship between Christ and the church, and it hosts regular gatherings designed to strengthen relationships, build community, and provide teaching on marriage from a Christian perspective.
IMAGE has hosted a variety of events over the years, including Virtual Date Nights during the pandemic season, Relating by Design teaching nights, Kickback Meet and Greets for new couples to connect with the ministry, and a fall Kickback, Meet & Greet for new members of the ministry. The ministry uses the dedicated email image@allinthefountain.com for questions and is led by Lady Crystal O'Neal. The leadership team plans gatherings for the Future Center space inside the church and often combines teaching with shared meals, games, and fellowship.
Revolution Men and Fearless Women
Two long-standing ministries provide dedicated space for the men and women of the church. Revolution Men is the men's ministry, and it gathers men of the church for fellowship, teaching, and service. The ministry hosts regular meetings, including a Gathering event held in the church's Future Center, and organizes outings such as the Super Bowl party and prayer breakfasts. Revolution Men takes seriously the call to raise up men as spiritual leaders in their homes, workplaces, and the broader community.
Fearless Women is the women's ministry, and it provides women of the church with opportunities for fellowship, teaching, and outreach. The ministry hosts regular Fearless Women gatherings, a Girls' Night In event, and seasonal activities, all designed to encourage and equip women in their faith and life. The ministry operates under its own email address, fearless@allinthefountain.com, and is open to women of all ages.
IGNITE Young Adults
For young adults ages 18 to 28, The Fountain hosts IGNITE, a ministry that combines fellowship, teaching, and service. IGNITE gathers for Mix & Mingle events, outings like the fall beach bonfire at Huntington State Beach, and seasonal activities. The young adult ministry uses the email ignite@allinthefountain.com for questions and is led by a team of young adult leaders. IGNITE's calendar includes outreach events, social gatherings, and worship nights, and it partners with the larger church for special services and seasonal emphasis weeks.
Prophetic Zone International Conference
Each summer, The Fountain Church International hosts Prophetic Zone International Conference (PZCI), the church's annual conference that has grown into one of the signature events in the church's calendar. The conference runs over several days in July and is held at 1100 East Holt Avenue in Pomona. Programming typically includes morning and evening services, prophetic teaching, worship, and dedicated tracks for youth and children. A Night of Worship is held in partnership with guest artists such as Todd Dulaney, and the School of the Prophets, led by Dr. Saundra O'Neal, has become a featured pre-conference intensive for those with a prophetic calling.
Registration for PZCI is free for general admission, and dedicated registration is available for the School of the Prophets, Vacation Bible School, and the youth track. The conference email is pzci@allinthefountain.com, and hotel partners offer special rates for out-of-town guests. The Prophetic Zone has become a draw for people from across the region, and it is the largest annual event on the Fountain's calendar.
Outreach Across Pomona: Food, Toys, and Backpacks
The Fountain's ministry extends beyond the walls of the building. The church hosts an annual Christmas Food and Toy Giveaway, a drive-thru event held in the church parking lot in December that provides food and toys to families in the Pomona community. The church also hosts a Back to School Backpack Giveaway each August, providing backpacks and school supplies to elementary and high school students. Both events are free and open to the community, and registration is handled through the church office.
The Fountain also maintains a strong online presence for members who cannot attend in person. The Fountain app, available for both iOS and Android, provides the weekly sermon, a calendar of events, registration links for special events, giving tools, and access to the livestream. The church is also active on Facebook and Instagram, where event updates, encouragement, and sermon clips are shared regularly.
New Members, Foundation Doctrine, and Joining the Fountain
For those interested in making The Fountain their church home, the church offers a New Member's Orientation and Foundation Doctrine class. The two-part class is held on select Saturdays throughout the year, with sessions on New Member's Orientation and Foundation Doctrine, both required for completion. The class is held in person at the church and on Zoom, and the Zoom link is emailed upon registration. The Foundation Doctrine class covers the basic beliefs of the Christian faith as understood by the Fountain community, and the New Member's Orientation provides an introduction to the church's mission, vision, and ministries. Both sessions must be completed to receive the New Member and Foundational Doctrine certificates.
What The Fountain Believes
The Fountain Church International identifies as a non-denominational, evangelical, charismatic Christian church. The Fountain's statement of faith affirms the core Christian doctrines of the Trinity, the deity of Jesus Christ, the death and resurrection of Christ, the work of the Holy Spirit, the authority of Scripture, and the call to follow Jesus in everyday life. The Fountain's teaching emphasizes the prophetic ministry, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, and the importance of prayer and fasting as part of the Christian life. The 21-Day Daniel's Fast, observed at the start of each year, is one example of the church's commitment to the spiritual disciplines.
Leadership, Elders, and the Ministry of Helps
Bishop O'Neal leads a team of elders, ministry leaders, and staff at The Fountain. The Ministry of Helps, a dedicated volunteer and service team, supports the weekly services and the church's many events. The Ministry of Helps hosts orientations for new volunteers, an annual holiday party, and a RESET training event for leaders and staff. The church also has a small but active team of administrative and program staff who keep the daily operations of the church running smoothly.
The Fountain Arizona
In addition to the Pomona campus, The Fountain has a sister congregation in Arizona, also called The Fountain. The Fountain Arizona carries the same family-centered, multicultural vision and operates with its own social media presence and event calendar. Members of the Pomona church often partner with the Arizona congregation for special events, conferences, and trips.
