Cross City Church: A DFW Congregation with Five Sunday Venues Across Two Campuses

Baptist Church in Euless, Texas

Cross City Church is a multi-generational Southern Baptist congregation in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth area that meets at two campuses, offers services in English, Spanish, and an international venue, and runs ministries for every age from preschool through seniors.

About First Baptist Church of Euless

Five Sunday Venues, One Church Family in the Heart of DFW

Cross City Church has been caring for people in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth area for more than 120 years. Its flagship Euless Campus sits at the corner of Highway 183 and Industrial Boulevard at 1000 Airport Freeway, and from there the congregation has grown into a multi-generational, multi-ethnic, mission-focused body that meets under one roof in five Sunday venues. Across town in the rapidly growing Alliance corridor north of Fort Worth, Cross City also runs an Alliance Campus that meets on Sundays at Haslet Elementary School.

On any given Sunday, the Euless Campus hosts a traditional worship service in English at 8:30 am in the Chapel, a contemporary worship service in English at 11:00 am in the Worship Center, a Spanish-language service called Cross City Español at 11:00 am in the Chapel, and an international venue called The City at 11:00 am designed for cross-cultural worship. The Alliance Campus meets at 9:30 and 11:00 am. Connection Groups for all ages meet at 9:30 am on the Euless Campus, weaving Bible study, fellowship, and class-style community into the rhythm of the morning.

REAL People, REAL Hope, REAL Life

The church's vision is captured in three short words: real people finding real hope and experiencing real life in Christ. The team at Cross City describes itself as authentic rather than perfect, multi-generational and diverse, and eager to welcome anyone who walks through the door. The vision is anchored in Romans 15:13: "Now may the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

The mission statement is short and direct: lead all people to follow Jesus. The strategy that supports it is a four-part rhythm known as REAL: Relate, Engage, Adopt, and Lead. Relate focuses on the great commandment of loving God and neighbor. Engage drives obedience to the great commission. Adopt urges the church to lovingly welcome and walk alongside new believers. Lead is the call to actively serve, intentionally replicate leaders, and stay eternally minded.

A 120-Year Heritage in the Mid-Cities

Cross City traces its roots back more than a century in the Mid-Cities area between Dallas and Fort Worth. The Euless Campus has grown to host five simultaneous Sunday services across multiple venues, and the Alliance Campus launched to reach the fast-growing region north of Fort Worth where new residents are arriving from across the country and the world. Under the leadership of Lead Pastor John Meador, who has served since 2006, the congregation has leaned into its role as both a local presence and a church with a global footprint.

Pastor John has pastored churches in Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas since 1985 and now leads a staff that includes executive pastors for ministries, finance and administration, and communications and technology. He and his wife Kim have been married for over 45 years and have six grown children and one granddaughter. His recent book, God's Not Done With You, shares how God brings people through painful seasons, and his Walk in the Truth podcast extends his teaching beyond the Euless campus.

What to Expect on a First Visit

Guests who plan a visit will find a Guest Central desk just inside the West/Guest Entrance of the Euless Campus. The desk is staffed to help with directions, family questions, and information about kids and student programs. Free parking is available on campus, and parking maps are published online for the contemporary worship service, the traditional service, the international service, and the Spanish service.

Sunday dress at Cross City ranges from casual to business casual; there is no dress code. The traditional 8:30 am service in the Chapel leans toward classic hymns and a quieter atmosphere, while the 11:00 am contemporary service in the Worship Center uses a full band and modern worship songs. The international venue, The City, is designed for cross-cultural worship with its own band and a multiethnic feel. Childcare is not available during the 8:30 am traditional service; preschool, kids, and students are best served at the 9:30 and 11:00 am hours.

The Alliance Campus at Haslet Elementary School offers a warm, come-as-you-are environment with programs for Cross City Kids (grades K-5) during the services, preschool care from birth through kindergarten, and a student ministry called The Garage that meets Wednesdays. Services are streamed live online each Sunday.

Kids from Birth Through Preteen

Cross City Kids serves children from birth through sixth grade with an emphasis on safety, fun, and Bible-rooted teaching. A check-in system, screened volunteers, and thoughtfully designed procedures aim to keep children secure, and a special-needs ministry welcomes kids of all abilities, asking families to reach out before the first visit so the team can prepare.

On Sunday mornings, preschoolers (birth through kindergarten) meet from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm in a dedicated area where they play, build friendships, and learn about Jesus at an age-appropriate pace. Children in grades 1 through 4 attend Kids Connection at 9:30 am, where Bible Drill literacy skills and Wonder Ink lessons come together, then move to Kids Worship at 10:45 am for a service tailored to them. Preteens in grades 5 and 6 gather at 9:30 am for an interactive hour with games, object lessons, and discussion, and may attend worship with their parents at 11:00 am or participate in Bible Drill.

On Wednesday nights, the kids' ministry offers three midweek tracks that run from 6:30 to 8:00 pm: Identity (drama, art, science, and service projects that apply Sunday's lesson), Shout! (a music and creative-movement track that leads worship at Christmas and in spring), and Precept (inductive Bible study for young readers). Parents attending an adult Equip class on Wednesday nights can reserve a spot for their preschooler in care that includes Pajama Jam, the youngest kids' choir.

The City: Student Ministry for Grades 7-12

The student ministry at Cross City, branded The City, has its own dedicated space at the Euless Campus built with students in mind. Basketball, volleyball, video game systems, pool tables, and a café share one floor where students can hang out before and after programming. On Sundays, students join Connection Groups from 9:30 to 10:30 am and are encouraged to sit together in the 11:00 am worship service. On Wednesdays, MDWK runs from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with worship, teaching, and time with friends, and the City Café is open afterward for snacks (cash only).

At the Alliance Campus, student ministry is called The Garage, with food, games, and worship on Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Both venues teach students about Jesus, the Bible, and how God has a plan for their lives, with the goal of helping them become the kind of people who bring change to their homes, schools, and communities.

Adults: Connection Groups, Equip Classes, and Special Focus Ministries

Adults at Cross City have two primary on-ramps: Connection Groups and Equip Classes. Connection Groups meet on Sunday mornings and during the week in homes, restaurants, and online. They range from single adults and single parents to young marrieds, parents of preschoolers, parents of students, adults 50 to 64, and adults 65 and over, plus men's, women's, and bilingual and Spanish-language classes. Most Sunday-morning groups meet from 9:30 to 10:45 am.

Equip is the church's seasonal Wednesday-night class menu, running in the fall and spring semesters with options like Divorce Care, Grief Share, Financial Peace, Bible Study Fellowship, Precept studies, marriage classes, and a rotation of topical electives. ESL classes meet on Wednesday evenings and on Sunday mornings in a Connection Group format. Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered recovery program for hurts, habits, and hang-ups, meets Wednesdays at 6:00 pm in Room 192, with a large-group gathering followed by gender-specific small groups.

Several adult ministries reach specific audiences. Men meet for Man to Man on Tuesday mornings at 6:00 am and for Man Up on Monday nights once a quarter. Women gather for Bible Study Fellowship, Precept classes, topical studies, and a Ladies Fall Craft Fair each November. Singles 30 and older meet in dedicated connection groups, including a class for single parents. Seniors 65 and over enjoy trips, fellowship, and classes shaped around legacy and friendship.

Marriage, Family, and Special Seasons

Cross City invests in marriages through date nights (such as evenings at Dave & Buster's), conferences, mentoring, and marriage-focused Equip classes. The church also runs a Parent-Child Commitment service each fall where parents publicly promise, before God and the church family, to raise their child in faith. Divorce Care and Grief Share offer seasonal support groups during the Equip semester for people walking through separation or loss. Embrace Grace provides a support group for young, expecting mothers.

Families exploring adoption or fostering can plug into a foster and adoption ministry, and widows find care through a widow ministry. First Fitness combines physical fitness, self-defense, and spiritual milestones. A counseling center offers Christ-centered counseling for individuals, couples, and families, and the church makes Right Now Media available for free to every member and attendee.

Kidscape, Cuppa, the Library, and the Lionheart Building

Several on-campus amenities give Cross City a community-center feel. Kidscape is a free indoor play area with a three-story play structure and a toddler soft play zone, open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 to 5:00 pm, with party reservations available for members on Saturdays. Cuppa is the church coffee shop, serving drinks Sunday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The library hosts story times and serves as a quiet space. The Lionheart building is home to the special-needs ministry referenced in the kids' ministry. A preschool program welcomes young children during the week as well.

Cross City Español and Cross City International

Cross City Español gathers at 11:00 am on Sundays in the Chapel at the Euless Campus under the leadership of Español Pastor Misael Rivera and Ministry Assistant Florelvia Delgado. The Spanish-language ministry describes itself as a family church of real people who gather to enjoy fellowship with others who share hope in Jesus Christ, preach the Word of God in a healthy and solid way, and offer Bible teaching in connection groups for all ages. The Español service is livestreamed each Sunday, and a Centro de Bienvenida Norte (North Welcome Center) outside the Chapel helps guests find their way.

Cross City International, led by Campus Pastor Ed Kho, meets at 11:00 am in The City. The international venue is intentionally multiethnic and welcomes people from many language and cultural backgrounds. Together with the English and Spanish services, the international venue gives the Euless Campus five Sunday venues meeting under one roof.

Missions Here and Around the World

Missions are central to the church's identity. Locally, Cross City partners with Mid Cities Women's Clinic, 6 Stones, and KiDs Beach Club, and the congregation fills Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes each fall. Globally, the church supports short-term mission trips and a long-term partnership in Kenya, where a campaign sought to raise $500,000 for clean water and the gospel. A Missions Sunday each fall highlights the church's participation in the Great Commission across all five venues, and a digital missions book shares stories and opportunities from around the world.

Two giving tracks keep the work funded. Designated giving to Cross City Missions supports local and global partners and sends teams on the road, while giving through the Cooperative Program supports Southern Baptist missions and ministry work across North America and beyond. Members and guests can give online, by text (text GIVE to 817-646-2922 followed by the amount), by mail, or in person at giving boxes or in the offering bags.

What Cross City Believes

Cross City Church holds to the full doctrinal statement of the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). Seven beliefs are considered essential foundations. The Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, and the supreme and final authority in doctrine and practice. There is one God in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - co-existent, co-eternal, and co-equal. The Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death on the cross, was buried, and rose bodily, and is the only means of salvation. The Holy Spirit is a person who convicts, regenerates, seals, indwells, and fills believers. Human beings were created in God's image but fell into sin and are in need of salvation, and marriage is a lifelong union between one man and one woman as God designed it. Salvation is the sovereign gift of God, received by personal faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for sin, apart from works. The church looks for the future, visible, and bodily return of Jesus Christ to rule the nations and establish His kingdom on earth.

Leadership and Staff

John Meador serves as Lead Pastor with overall vision for the church. Executive pastors Jeff Rees (Ministries), John Mann (Finance and Administration), and Josh Merriott (Communications and Technology) round out the senior team. Brad Riley leads worship as Worship Pastor, with Worship Associates Andrea Crichton, Jana Harwell, and Jax Rounsavall; Brad Powers directs media. Kent Wells pastors the Alliance Campus, Ed Kho pastors Cross City International, and Misael Rivera leads Cross City Español. Aisea Babcock is Next Steps Pastor, Greg Garcia is Student Pastor, Kari Brimacombe is Kids Minister, Alex Farr is Young Adult Pastor and oversees Men's Ministries, Tara O'Shields serves as Young Adult Associate and Women's Minister, Mark Moore is Senior Adult Minister, and Gloria Irving is Missions and Benevolence Minister.

Next Steps, Volunteering, and Getting Connected

Cross City organizes the on-ramp into church life around a series of next steps. A new family can start by attending a service, finding a Connection Group, attending a Next Step Class, serving on a volunteer team, and considering baptism and membership. The Spanish-language ministry offers a parallel Real Membership Class for those who would like to join by profession of faith or letter. The counseling center, prayer ministry, and Right Now Media library round out the resources available to anyone who walks through the doors.

Office hours at the Euless Campus are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm (phone only). The phone number is 817-267-3313, and the email is [a href="mailto:"][/a]. Whether someone has been a member for decades or is walking in for the first time, the church's heartbeat is the same: real people, finding real hope, and experiencing real life in Christ.
