Truth Trackers, Children's Church, and FBC Youth
Children's Church offers classes for all ages with the Generations of Grace Curriculum. Children learn important truths from the Bible, are encouraged to apply God's Word, and receive take-home lesson sheets. The church requires a background check for every volunteer and trains staff to care for children appropriately.
On Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m., Truth Trackers welcomes children from age 3 through sixth grade. The group learns Bible truths and memorizes Scripture through sessions built around Bible verses, with crafts, games, and encouragement to complete devotions. Truth Trackers does not meet during the summer.
FBC Youth Meets in the Teen's Room
Students in grades 6 through 12 are welcome every Sunday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. in the teen's room off the gym. The time includes Bible study, worship, prayer, and fun, and the youth ministry also offers a monthly activity.
Men and Women Meet for Bible Study
Men meet every other Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Women meet every other Thursday in sessions at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. These groups are part of the church's ongoing Bible study ministry, alongside adult classes in the all-age Sunday School gathering at 9:45 a.m.
What First Baptist Church Teaches
The church affirms that the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings, and of supreme and final authority in faith and life. It confesses one eternal God existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is held to be truly God and truly man, begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
The church teaches that the Lord Jesus died for sin as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who place faith and trust in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. It also affirms the resurrection of Christ's crucified body, His ascension, His present life as High Priest and advocate, and the personal pretribulation and premillennial return of Jesus Christ. Those who receive Christ by faith are born again by the Holy Spirit and become children of God. The church further affirms the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, everlasting blessedness for the saved, and everlasting conscious punishment for the lost.
