Worship on Sundays and Wednesdays
Grace Pointe Assembly of God gathers at 1605 S. Baker Blvd. in Carthage, meeting as a family three times a week. Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:30 AM, followed by Sunday morning worship at 10:30 AM and a Sunday evening service at 6 PM. The church describes itself as contemporary and centers its life on following Jesus and the Word of God.
Wednesday evenings bring the congregation back together at 6:30 PM for discipleship, with classes and small groups running alongside age-specific programs for kids and students.
GP Kids: Learning the Bible by Heart
Children's pastor Justin Bellah leads GP Kids, the ministry for children ages 5 through 10. He teaches Scripture through illustrations and is often surrounded by a pack of kids who have come to know him as a steady, hands-on teacher. GP Kids meets for Sunday School at 9:30 AM and again on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM.
The ministry draws on trusted programs from the broader Assemblies of God family: BGMC and JBQ build biblical literacy and a heart for missions, while Girls Ministries and Royal Rangers give boys and girls their own discipleship paths. Parents can text "RIDE" to 417-465-3453 to arrange a ride for their children.
GP Students: Middle and High School
GP Students is Grace Pointe's ministry for middle and high schoolers, with Sunday School at 9:30 AM and Wednesday night discipleship at 6:30 PM. The church describes it as a community where students can be themselves while discovering who God created them to be, focusing on prayer, the truth of God's Word, and a Christ-centered life rather than Sunday-only religion. Age-appropriate teaching is paired with activities that build lifelong friendships.
Pastors and Family
Lead pastors Jeremiah and Rachel Johnson oversee the congregation. The church's welcome carries a simple message: "Here at Grace Pointe you are family."
Part of the Assemblies of God
Grace Pointe is affiliated with the Assemblies of God, a Pentecostal denomination founded in 1914 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and now the world's largest Pentecostal body. The church holds to the Assemblies of God's core doctrines, position papers, and statement of fundamental truths.
Outreach and Missions
Throughout the year, Grace Pointe runs a variety of creative outreaches and missions trips to reach Carthage and the world beyond. A church bus picks up anyone who needs a ride to services, with families and individuals filling out a bus form online. Services are livestreamed on Facebook for those who cannot attend in person, giving is available online, and a Plan a Visit link walks newcomers through what to expect.
