On the corner of College Parkway and Hillcrest in Frisco, Texas, sits a single-story building that has been home to Faithbridge Presbyterian Church since 2004. The congregation was chartered by Grace Presbytery in 2001 and moved into its present home three years later, when founding members wrote prayers for the new community on the building's support beams. Today the church is known across Frisco and the surrounding Collin, Denton, and Dallas County communities for its straightforward motto - Love. Serve. Affirm. - and for being a congregation that openly welcomes people of every age, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious background, political party, and bank balance.
Love. Serve. Affirm. - The Heart of the Congregation
The church's mission statement is the three-word motto that appears across its welcome materials: Love. Serve. Affirm. In its own description, Faithbridge follows the God who, according to Scripture, is love; proclaims God's son Jesus as the one true Messiah who came to serve and save humanity; and follows Jesus in affirming God's love for all people without exception. Members draw power for this work through Christ's Spirit, who lives in them, and they gather as a faith community to encourage and support one another in their relationships with God and with each other.
Faithbridge is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States, and is a member congregation of Grace Presbytery. The church is also a member of the Post Evangelical Collective, a network that connects, cultivates, and resources post-evangelical churches. Faithbridge describes itself as affirming of all people and including members of the LGBTQ+ community in its church family, and it continually strives for greater diversity as it partners with Christ toward the fulfillment of a kingdom of love, peace, and justice.
Sunday Worship at 10:30 a.m.
Sunday morning worship begins at 10:30 a.m. Most people arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. to greet one another and grab a cup of coffee. The service is contemporary in tone, led by a Praise Team that invites people to sing along and clap to music that is meant to speak to the soul. Visitors are greeted with the phrase come as you are, and jeans, slacks, shorts, or sundresses are all equally at home. A printed bulletin is offered at the door, but the entire service is also projected on slides with song lyrics, prayers, and graphics so anyone can follow along without it.
Children are a welcome part of worship. Wiggles and small noises are expected and often draw smiles and helpful hands from those around them. During the service, children are invited to a brief Time for Young Disciples, their own sermon tailored for them. Worship bags filled with quiet activities are available from the Sensory Library for children who stay in the sanctuary with their families. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month and at other special services throughout the year. In keeping with the church's welcome of all to Christ's table, anyone who wishes to share in the sacrament is invited forward to take bread and dip it in a cup of grape juice, with a gluten-free option always available. The sacrament is brought to anyone who cannot come forward.
Services are livestreamed on the church's YouTube channel and on Facebook for those who cannot be in the building, and past sermons remain available on both platforms. Recent sermon series have included a Summer Mixtape series built around songs such as U2's One, Miley Cyrus's The Climb, and OneRepublic's I Lived, paired with passages from Galatians, James, Romans, John, and Ephesians.
Children's Ministry and the Prayground
Faithbridge considers children an important and special part of the congregation. Two parallel programs serve families on Sunday morning:
- Nursery is available each Sunday from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. for children from birth through age 5. The nursery is staffed by trained, background-checked caregivers who introduce the youngest disciples to God's love through play, stories, and gentle care.
- Prayground is Sunday school with a twist. After the Time for Young Disciples, children ages 3 through 5th grade are invited to a fun, engaging, age-appropriate faith experience. Each week they explore a Bible story through prayer, conversation, and a hands-on craft that connects God's Word to everyday life, using the PC(USA) Growing in Grace & Gratitude curriculum. Children return to the sanctuary following the sermon to rejoin their families for the remainder of worship.
Changing tables are available in both the men's and women's bathrooms. Anyone who works with children or youth at Faithbridge is background checked for the safety of children and the peace of mind of parents.
Throughout the year, families come together for special events such as an Easter egg hunt, a Children's Christmas Pageant, Children's Sunday, and Parents' Night Out.
Faithbridge Youth (7th through 12th Grade)
Faithbridge Youth Ministry gathers 7th through 12th graders for time with friends, service, and conversations about faith and how it relates to their daily lives. The youth are described as inclusive, unified, welcoming, fun, thoughtful, and respectful.
Youth Group meets every other Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. throughout the year, with time for fellowship, study, and service. Youth are also invited to lead in Sunday worship as greeters, readers, and musicians or vocalists. The congregation celebrates faith milestones with its young people: baptism as families decide, a signed Bible from the congregation in 5th grade, confirmation in 8th or 9th grade, and senior recognition in 12th grade.
Faithbridge also participates in regional Presbyterian camps and conferences, traveling to places such as Camp Gilmont, Mo Ranch, and Synod Youth Workshop, where youth connect with other Presbyterians from across the area.
Adults: Bible Study, Fellowship, and Growth
Adults of all ages find several ongoing opportunities to dig deeper into faith, share in meaningful conversation, and grow in relationships:
- Wednesday Evening Bible Study meets every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Craft Room and is led by Pastor Lisa. The current study is on Short Stories by Jesus by Amy-Jill Levine. The class is described as a welcoming space to explore Scripture, wrestle with challenging passages, and discover how an ancient story speaks to today's life.
- Faith & Fellowship meets every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room.
- Faithbridge Women hosts a variety of fellowship events throughout the year, anchored by an annual Women's Retreat held each fall.
- Bible Journaling gathers monthly on a Saturday morning for a time to dive deep into Scripture with study and art. No artistic skill is required to participate.
Seasonal offerings come with Advent and Lent, when the congregation shares book suggestions and additional opportunities for conversation during those seasons.
Faithbridge Presbyterian Preschool
Faithbridge Presbyterian Preschool opened in 2005 as an extension of the church's mission to the surrounding community. The preschool provides a friendly, loving Christian atmosphere for children ages 18 months through Pre-K, preparing them for formal education. The mission of the school is for each child to grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, and physically as parents, children, school staff, and church members work together to establish a rich learning environment.
Programs include Pre-K (3-day Tues/Wed/Thurs or 5-day), Threes (2-day Tues/Thurs, 3-day, or 5-day), and Twos for children 18 months and older (2-day, 3-day, or 5-day). School runs weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., following the FISD calendar for holidays and weather closures. Tuition for the 2026-2027 school year is published on the church's preschool pages, with separate supply fees and monthly tuition for 2-day, 3-day, and 5-day options. Director Michele Salembier leads the program, and tours can be arranged by email or by calling the church office.
Missions and Generosity
Ask anyone at Faithbridge what defines them as a people and the answer is mission. The congregation is committed to generosity and service as ways of bearing witness to Jesus Christ, and all ages are invited to take part in hands-on mission projects.
Current mission partners include:
- Faithbridge Presbyterian Preschool, the church's own early education ministry.
- Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services, providing care and support for children and families in need.
- Samaritan Inn, a comprehensive housing program in McKinney that supports individuals in realizing dignity and gaining independence.
- Evergreen Life Services, an organization that works to change lives for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Frisco ISD, the local public school district.
The church is always looking for new mission partners, particularly in the immediate Frisco area. A Prayer Team faithfully prays for the joys and concerns of the congregation, the community, and all who seek God's presence, and Deacons extend Christ's love through compassionate care, offering encouragement, practical support, and a listening ear during life's celebrations and challenges.
Life Together: Lunch Bunch, Quilting, and Game Nights
Building relationships is part of the church's daily rhythm. The Lunch Bunch gathers monthly at local restaurants around Frisco for casual fellowship over a meal. The Quilting Group meets on a Saturday afternoon each month to work on projects together. Game Nights bring the congregation together for friendly competition. Small groups meet in homes and restaurants, and the community cheers on the Frisco Rough Riders together on summer nights. Worship bulletins, Facebook, and Instagram keep everyone up to date on what is coming up next.
Praise Team and Music
Faithbridge's Praise Team leads contemporary music that aims to speak to the soul, inviting everyone to sing along and clap their hands. Musicians, vocalists, and instrumentalists who want to use their gifts to the glory of God are encouraged to talk with the Praise Team Leader. Praise Team Practice is held monthly, and the team is currently led on an interim basis by Brandi Caldwell.
Leadership and Pastoral Care
The congregation is served by Rev. Lisa Perkins, who has been pastor of Faithbridge Presbyterian Church since March 2023. Lisa is passionate about helping people discover God's love through authentic community, thoughtful worship, and compassionate service, and is committed to creating a congregation where all people are welcomed, affirmed, and invited to grow in faith together. Before entering ministry she studied music and then completed a degree in pre-med and biology - a journey that reflects her lifelong curiosity and love of learning. Outside of church she enjoys reading, singing, gardening, hiking, swimming, photography, and a great cup of coffee; she plays the saxophone, hopes to learn guitar someday, and jokes that she only runs when she is being chased.
Like all Presbyterian congregations, Faithbridge is served by two bodies elected by the congregation. The Session, the governing body, is composed of ruling elders moderated by the pastor. The Board of Deacons is the caregiving body, supporting individuals and facilitating communication within the church. Elders currently serving include Frank Salembier (Property), Joanne Mininger (Fellowship), Brian Singleton (Worship), Jim Williams (Mission), M-J Junkin (Christian Education), Kathryn Rohlfing (Finance), Shannon Allyn (Clerk & Personnel), and two youth elders, Clay C. and Ryan O. Deacons currently serving include Karen Oxford, Ward White, and Adam Ashcraft. The staff team also includes Lorraine Knight as Administrative Assistant, Michele Salembier as Preschool Director, M-J Junkin overseeing Christian Education and the nursery, and Brandi Caldwell as Interim Praise Team Leader.
A Building Made for Everyone
The Faithbridge campus at 10930 College Parkway is a single-story building designed to be welcoming and accessible. Handicapped parking for cars and vans is available at the entry, with ramps leading into the building. Hallways and doors are wide enough for a wheelchair or scooter, and accessible stalls are included in each bathroom. Even the playground features ramp access, so the youngest members of the congregation can use it as easily as their parents and grandparents.
The church sits at the corner of College Parkway and Hillcrest in Frisco, Texas. Visitors with questions about joining the church are invited to talk with the pastor or one of the elders after worship, or to email welcome@faithbridgechurch.org. Anyone who has not yet been baptized can join by receiving the sacrament of baptism; current members of another church can be received by letter of transfer; and anyone who has been away from church for a while can reaffirm their baptismal promise to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The church can be reached by phone at 972-377-9560. Online giving is available through the church's giving page, and the Plan Your Visit page answers a long list of practical questions for anyone considering a first visit.
