At 4824 Scottsdale Rd in House Springs, Missouri, Faith Community Church is an Assemblies of God congregation known for its family-centered rhythm: worship at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. each Sunday, age-specific ministry from birth through high school, groups for adults and young adults, recovery support, and hands-on outreach. Its mission is to help people move from where they are to where God wants them to be, one step at a time.
Sunday Worship at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m.
Both Sunday gatherings welcome in-person and online participants. A typical service lasts around one hour and 15 minutes and includes music and someone sharing a message from the Bible. Faith Kids and Champions Club offer concurrent programs, allowing parents and children to arrive together and move to age-appropriate rooms. The livestream opens for those joining from home.
Mission Coffee operates in the cafe area before services, with lattes, chai tea, Italian sodas, and free drip coffee; every purchase supports an outreach project. After a service, first-time guests can find the Guest Connection team at the blue flag. The team greets people and answers questions about Faith Community.
Faith Kids: Learning from Birth Through Fifth Grade
Every Sunday, Faith Kids welcomes children from birth through fifth grade into safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught creatively and practically. Both services offer the same experience, with classes divided by age and grade. A child's classroom appears on the check-in tag, so families know where to go, and Faith Kids volunteers are available to help.
The Go! curriculum leads children on a chronological journey through the Bible from August through July each year. Lessons, small-group time, activities, worship, and opportunities for children to receive prayer and pray for one another make up the regular rhythm. The children are also invited to build friendships with peers and Faith Kids leaders.
Safety is built into check-in through matching stickers: the adult who checks in a child receives a sticker, and only the person holding the matching sticker can pick the child up. A dedicated Safety Team is posted at the Kids Center as an additional layer of supervision. Child dedications occur during a service once each quarter, and families attend a class beforehand to learn about the process. Alyssa Drennen leads the preschool ministry, while Brea Quick leads the elementary ministry.
Champions Club: A Dedicated Space for Kids with Special Needs
Champions Club gives children ages 4 to 12 with special needs a dedicated place during both Sunday services. The program is designed for any type of special need, and a medical diagnosis is required. It occupies a dedicated space on the church's upper level and uses sensory-supporting tools.
Each child is paired with trained volunteers and moves through four rooms for spiritual, emotional, physical, and creative development. The volunteers are trained to work with different types of special needs, allowing parents and guardians to attend the service with confidence. Children who need lighter sensory or buddy support can find those resources in Faith Kids. Director Robin Mach brings 29 years of Early Childhood Special Education experience, including 28 years in a local school district, work with integrated and high-needs classrooms, and service as a developmental therapist with First STEPS.
Student Connections and The Gathering
Faith Student Ministries serves students in grades 6 through 12 with a goal of helping each student develop a personal relationship with Jesus and live it out in everyday situations. The regular Wednesday gathering runs from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Student Center and can include a service, a group, or a social event. Student Pastor Josh Quick leads this ministry.
Before and after gatherings, students can use the Student Center's snack and gaming area for ping pong, conversation, and food. A first-time guest receives a VIP pass and a free snack item. The student ministry also makes time each year for a retreat at a camp or retreat center or for a summer or winter conference.
The Gathering provides another gathering point for young adults ages 18 to 29. They meet in the Cafe on the third Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m. to build community, be disciples, and worship together. No registration is needed, and Mission Coffee opens at the same time.
Community Nights, Groups and Recovery
Community Nights gather adults and children on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. during the spring and fall, typically February through April and September through November. Adult groups use a semester rhythm, although some groups meet year-round. Faith Community describes the church's gathering pattern with a contrast: people gather in rows to learn, while relationships grow in circles of community. The shared path is Connect, Grow, and Lead.
Volunteers serve through Dream Teams in areas where they can use their gifts. Newcomers are invited to a Welcome Lunch where they can meet pastors and leaders, ask questions, and receive complimentary lunch and childcare. Lead Pastor Josh Earls, Executive Pastor for Adult Ministries Brian Caplinger, Discipleship Pastor Charles Partney, and Worship Pastor Chris Rowton are among the leaders connected with these gatherings.
Celebrate Recovery meets at Faith Community Church on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. It is a Christ-centered 12-step recovery ministry for people dealing with hurts, habits, or hangups, including emotional health concerns, relationship challenges, addiction recovery, and major life changes. The gathering is designed as a safe place to find community with people who understand the struggle.
Marketplace Food Pantry and Peace by Piece
Marketplace Food Pantry is a volunteer-led House Springs ministry that provides groceries each month to people in the surrounding area. The pantry also supplies five other area pantries. Its community garden gives people a place to learn how to garden and supplies fresh vegetables for the pantry. Volunteers are invited to help with monthly distributions and food preparation.
On the first Sunday of every month, Bumper Bag Sunday gives worshippers a simple way to help. Participants bring a few nonperishable items to church and leave them in a bag by their vehicle. The Marketplace team collects the bags during the services and prepares the items for distribution.
Peace by Piece began with a volunteer's desire to serve through gently used clothing. Today its volunteer-run shops include a quarter store, an affordable boutique, and a home and beyond store. Profits support community projects such as the Back to School Bash, Christmas gifts for families, and a monthly program providing personal care items. The stores are open Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Clothing donations can be placed in the box on the east side of the parking lot, while larger items can be arranged directly with Peace by Piece.
Mission Coffee serves handcrafted drinks during Sunday morning services and some in-building events. Its profit supports mission projects that rotate each month. The cafe is also used by The Gathering.
Faith Community regularly supports local organizations with distinct needs, including Adult and Teen Challenge of St. Louis for residential addiction recovery, Feed My People for food pantry needs, Missionaries David and Sherri Godbout for urban transformation work through Novation Church in St. Louis, and MyLife Medical Center for women's clinic, pregnancy care, and family resources.
The Giving Hope fund supports local and global projects. Its work has included a shoe program for students in Nigeria through the SBM Foundation and a medical facility in El Salvador through Abigail Association. Giving is available online, through the Faith Community app, or by texting GivetoFaith to 77977. Electronic checks, credit or debit cards, and recurring gifts are supported.
Missionaries, Global Projects and Mission Trips
The church's global mission work includes Child Hope in Panama and Paraguay, the Oral Learners Initiative, and Project Rescue. It also supports missionaries in Argentina, the Asian Peninsula, Belgium, the Caribbean, Central Europe, Indonesia, Rural America through Rural Compassion, Spain, Thailand, US Native American regions, and the United States. Yearly mission trips have taken participants to countries such as Guatemala, Brazil, and India for hands-on service. Executive Pastor for Church Life Lauren Earls handles questions about mission trips.
What Faith Community Believes
Faith Community's beliefs begin with Jesus as the Son of God. The church affirms that Jesus is the only way to salvation, died for sin, and rose again to give new life. The Bible is affirmed as the God-breathed Word of God and the only authority grounding its beliefs. Salvation is received through God's grace, with repentance and faith, rather than human effort.
The Holy Spirit is described as an active guide through daily life. People are also understood as created on purpose, with unique personalities, gifts, and talents. Faith is taught to extend beyond Sunday worship into family, work, friendships, and every other part of life.
As an Assemblies of God church, Faith Community holds to 16 Fundamental Truths. These address biblical inspiration, the one true God, the deity of Christ, the fall of humanity, salvation, the ordinances of baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper, baptism in the Holy Spirit, sanctification, the mission of the church, divine healing, Christ's return, final judgment, and new heavens and a new earth. The church's Pentecostal conviction includes the initial physical evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit through speaking in tongues.
The emphasis on the Holy Spirit is paired with a strong sense of purpose and service: the church is to evangelize, worship God, form people who are being matured in Christ's image, and demonstrate love and compassion for the world.
Connect, Grow, and Lead
Faith Community organizes its life around eight core values. They shape its worship, discipleship, service, and community life.
- It is all about Jesus.
- We exist for others.
- We are participants, not spectators.
- We do not maintain; we multiply.
- We are stewards, not owners.
- We are always getting better.
- Who you are matters more than what you do.
- We enjoy life.
Those values shape a church built around worship and intergenerational connection. Faith Community Church in House Springs remains centered on Jesus, responsive to the needs of its neighbors, and committed to helping people take the next step on the path of Connect, Grow, and Lead.
