Emmanuel Pentecostal Church has been a steady Pentecostal presence in the Dallas-Mesquite corridor since 1940, and the congregation now gathers on a 12 1-2-acre campus at 1200 Poplar Drive, just off I-635 and New Market Road in Mesquite, Texas. Self-described as a multicultural Pentecostal church where everyone belongs, EPC is affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church and traces its roots to a small roofed foundation at the corner of Fourth and Metropolitan in south Dallas, where Reverend Hart first began holding services more than eight decades ago.
The Flowers Pastoral Family at the Center of EPC
The story of Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in its current location is inseparable from the Flowers family. Bishop Richard W. Flowers was elected pastor in June 1980, and under his leadership the congregation purchased 8.3 acres in Mesquite in 1983, added four more acres in 1995, and completed the relocation in December 1996, with the first Mesquite service held on January 5, 1997. A new sanctuary was added in 2002, and the campus now includes 65,000 square feet of space designed for worship, teaching, and fellowship.
Bishop Flowers and his wife, Renee, remain part of the church today and are honored as part of the EPC family. Senior Pastor Chad Flowers, who joined EPC in 2007 as Youth Pastor and later served as Assistant Pastor, became Senior Pastor in 2020. He holds a Master's in Counseling and brings years of evangelism experience across Texas. Mendy Flowers has been part of EPC since 2008; she oversees church operations and has served as Children's Ministry Director since 2019. Together they are raising three children - Jadyn McKenzie, Keira Analise, and Chandler Dyson - and lead the church as a family ministry team.
A Sunday at Emmanuel: From Prayer to Praise
Sunday at EPC follows a three-part rhythm that begins before the worship service even begins. Prayer gathering opens the day at 9:00 AM, followed by Sunday School at 10:00 AM with classes for every age group, and Morning Worship at 11:00 AM. A Spanish-language service - Iglesia Pentecostal Emanuel - meets at 2:00 PM the same day under Pastor Francisco and Maribel Orozco. Holiday weekends shift to a single 11:00 AM worship gathering, and the church calendar lists the changes.
The church welcomes first-time visitors with an explicit invitation: come as you are. The church's motto, Find Hope. Find Family. Find Jesus., captures the pastoral tone set for those walking through the doors for the first time.
Wednesday Nights: Midweek Bible Study for All Ages
Wednesdays at EPC are built around a 7:30 PM Midweek Service that gathers adults, youth, and children in Bible study at the same hour. The Fusion Youth Service runs alongside the adult teaching in its own space, and the C4 Children's Ministry offers its own age-appropriate program. Spanish-language Bible study also meets Wednesdays at 7:30 PM in the Fusion room on the second floor.
C4 Kids: Training Children From a Young Age
Children's ministry at EPC is organized under the name C4 Kids and is broken into five age groups that meet both Sundays at 10:00 AM and Wednesdays at 7:30 PM: Sprouts (ages 18 months to 3), Sparks (ages 4 to 5), Impact (ages 6 to 7), Surge (ages 8 to 9), and Apex (ages 10 to 11). The Children's Ministry Team runs a check-in counter process for safety, and every volunteer has completed a background check and earned Child Protection and Building Safety certification.

Fusion Youth and Hyphen Young Adults
FUSION Youth is EPC's ministry for students ages 12 through 18. Led by Pastoral Assistant Samuel Bailey, the group meets for Sunday School at 10:00 AM and a Wednesday Fusion Youth Service at 7:30 PM. The ministry describes itself as a safe place where young people can encounter heartfelt worship and friendships that draw them toward Christ.
For those transitioning out of high school, the HYPHEN Young Adult Ministry gathers the 18 to 30 age group for worship, fellowship, and community, with times posted on the church calendar. Mendy Flowers oversees Hyphen.
Adults, Families, and Singles
EPC's Adults & Families ministry supports the wider congregation through age-appropriate Sunday School classes at 10:00 AM and a network of Connect Groups for fellowship and growth. A dedicated ministry called Solos serves single adults with Connect Groups and special events such as conferences and social gatherings, with Janice Eldredge serving as the ministry contact.
Iglesia en Español: A Bilingual Church Family
Spanish ministry is integrated into the life of the whole church rather than treated as a separate program. The Spanish congregation meets at 2:00 PM each Sunday for worship and at 7:30 PM each Wednesday for Bible study in the Fusion room on the second floor, while the English congregation's Sunday School classes serve as the broader family connection point. Women's Ministry, Connect Groups, and Welcome to the Family
Women's ministry at EPC is built around three pathways: Women's Connect Groups, Ladies Care Groups, and Women's Ministry Teams. The Ladies Care Groups provide one-on-one encouragement and connection, while the ministry teams give women a place to serve. Connect Groups are the church's small-group system and the backbone of life beyond Sunday morning. The groups meet throughout the week for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship, and the church encourages every attendee to join a group as the next step after a first visit. The most recent round of Connect Groups launched in 2026, with sign-ups available through the church's online groups portal.
Newcomers who want to go further are invited to Welcome to the Family, a small-group class offered every four months that introduces the history, heritage, and core beliefs of EPC and provides a chance to meet the pastoral team.
What EPC Believes
EPC's beliefs page is built around the mission path of Being Disciples and Making Disciples through celebrating in worship, connecting in relationship, and contributing with gifts and talents. The church teaches that the Bible is God's inspired Word, without error, and the sole authority for salvation and Christian living. It confesses one God revealed as the Father in creation, Jesus Christ the Son in redemption, and the Holy Spirit in regeneration, with Jesus Christ understood as God manifested in the flesh.
The gospel is understood as the good news of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection, with salvation coming through repentance, water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ, and receiving the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Christian living centers on loving God and others, holy living, displaying the fruit of the Spirit, and joyful worship. The church looks for the return of Jesus Christ, final resurrection, and judgment, with the righteous inheriting eternal life.

The Mesquite campus sits on 12 1-2 acres and includes 65,000 square feet of facilities, with a sanctuary completed in 2002 that allows the church to minister on multiple fronts at once.
