One Family Across Two Campuses
Cornerstone Church fills the stretch of Highway 124 between Winnie and the Anahuac area as a single congregation with two campuses. The main campus sits at 3810 TX-124 in Winnie, while a second location meets at 1100 Oak Street in Anahuac. Both rooms are wired into the same family of pastors, the same mission, and the same Spirit-empowered tradition rooted in the Assemblies of God.
Senior Pastors Kevin and Melanie Griffin lead the church with a clear welcome: "If you are looking for a church, this is a great place to call home. Please come and visit us!" Their message lands gently and carries the same warmth across both locations.
Worship Together on Sundays and Wednesdays
Sunday morning at 10:00 AM is the main gathering for both campuses. The Winnie Campus fills its sanctuary, and the Anahuac Campus opens its doors for what the Anahuac team calls "presence-driven worship and practical application of the Word." The shared goal at both locations is to help people move "one step from where you are, to where God wants them."
Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM round out the weekly rhythm with a second service at each campus. Sermons and media from Cornerstone are shared online, so anyone who cannot attend in person can keep up with the teaching. Office hours at both campuses run Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with phones answered at 409-296-2481 in Winnie and 409-267-3009 in Anahuac.
A Mission to Build Families
Cornerstone describes its calling in one sentence: "We are a Community that welcomes and builds families." Everything from the Sunday stage to the back hallway points back to that idea. The church's Vision Model lays out three movements: Connect, Grow, Serve, which carry through both campuses:
- Connect through worship and prayer.
- Grow by experiencing life with God and those around you.
- Serve to make a difference in the community.
The mission statement at Anahuac puts the same three rhythms into action locally: "presence-driven worship and practical application of the Word that will help lead you to purposeful living right here in the Anahuac area." Cornerstone is part of the Assemblies of God and holds to the AG 16 Truths as the doctrinal foundation.
What Cornerstone Believes
Cornerstone outlines sixteen foundations in its own words, each tied to a Bible reference. The Bible is "the bottom line." God is revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus is God's Son and only begotten. Human beings fell into sin, but salvation is offered through Christ. Water Baptism and Holy Communion are the two ordinances of the church. The Holy Spirit changes and empowers believers, and a prayer language is one of those gifts. The church teaches sanctification: living right, acting right, becoming more like Jesus. It affirms divine healing, the Blessed Hope of Christ's return, a millennial reign, a coming judgment, and the reality of heaven.
Those teachings put Cornerstone in the classic Pentecostal stream, with an expectation that the Spirit is actively at work in the room. First-time visitors can expect lively worship and teaching that takes the Bible seriously as the rule of faith and practice.
Lifegroups for Every Walk of Life
Small groups are how Cornerstone moves from seats around a sanctuary to life shared around tables. Cornerstone offers five recurring Lifegroups:
- Young Adults (ages 18+): Guys and girls meet Monday evenings at 6:30 PM for Bible study.
- Relevant Families (all ages): periodic social and spiritual events throughout the year.
- Women's Connection (ages 18+): meets Tuesday at 10:00 AM in the church fellowship hall.
- Men's Ministry (ages 18+): Sundays at 5:00 PM, led by Men's Ministry Director Larry Davis.
- Legacy (ages 50+): meets in the sanctuary on the fourth Sunday of every month at 6:00 PM.
Board members Lester and Jessie Mouton help lead the families track and connect newcomers with the right group.
Kids and Students
Cornerstone invests in the next generation through dedicated children's and student ministries. Kids Pastors Justin and Amanda Griffin oversee Cornerstone Kids, with the Cornerstone Kids Learning Center serving as a partner resource for early education in the community.
Youth and Young Adult Pastors Hunter and Skylar Harrison lead the student side of the church. Hunter invites teens to Wednesday nights with a clear goal: "to inspire and empower young individuals to grow spiritually with Jesus while building lasting connections with other believers." The Monday night Young Adults group is the bridge from student ministry into adult small groups.
Missions and a Building Project for the Next Generation
Missions hold a special place at Cornerstone. Cornerstone puts it bluntly: "We love missions! We support many missionaries across the world spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ." A dedicated giving channel routes support directly to missionaries, distinct from the general fund.
Alongside global outreach, Cornerstone is in the middle of a Building Project. The tag line reads "WE ARE BUILDING FOR THE NEXT GENERATIONS TO COME," anchored by Luke 1:33. A specific Building Fund allows members to support the expansion directly.
Planning a First Visit
Two services and a full week of groups make Cornerstone easy to drop into. Sunday service begins at 10:00 AM at either campus; Wednesday nights follow at 6:30 PM. The Winnie mailing address is P.O. Box 387, Winnie, TX 77665, and the office email is Jess@ccwinnie.net. Anyone wanting to pray together, ask questions, or arrange a first-time visit can reach out to the team.
Cornerstone's pastors, staff, and volunteer leaders across Winnie and Anahuac continue to point the church in the same direction: Connect, Grow, Serve, one family across two campuses on the Texas Gulf Coast.
