Christ's Church: Two Jacksonville Campuses United Around Discipleship, Baptism, and the Bible

Presbyterian/Reformed Church in Jacksonville, Florida

Christ's Church is a non-denominational, multi-campus church in Jacksonville, Florida, gathering in Mandarin and on the Northside for worship, biblical teaching, weekly communion, and small-group discipleship shaped by the mission to make disciples, better disciples, and more disciples.

About Christ Church

Two Campuses, One Mission in Northeast Florida

Christ's Church is one church meeting in two locations on opposite sides of Jacksonville. The Mandarin Campus at 6045 Greenland Road is the larger of the two, with a worship center, classrooms for kids and students, the offices of the central staff, and the recently built campus of Christ's Church Academy. The River City Campus on the Northside at 2311 Starratt Road extends the same mission to a different neighborhood. Both locations are bound by a single purpose drawn straight from Matthew 28: to make disciples, better disciples, and more disciples. The Eldership, led by Teaching Elder and Lead Pastor Jason Cullum, shepherds both campuses as one body.

The church's vision is to complete the Great Commission in Northeast Florida by connecting people to Jesus and other believers, helping them live as lifelong disciples, and equipping them to share Jesus with others. Christ's Church describes itself as a diverse, imperfect group of people who love Jesus, teach His Word, and worship Him with passion. A team of more than thirty pastors, ministry directors, and support staff, together with the body of elders, leads the work across both campuses.

Sundays at Mandarin and River City

At the Mandarin Campus, services are held on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Doors open at 9 a.m. for the first service and at 10:30 a.m. for the second. The River City Campus meets for one Sunday service at 9:30 a.m., with doors opening at 9 a.m. Each gathering lasts about seventy minutes and follows a familiar rhythm: live music led by a full band, a relevant and straightforward Bible message, and a weekly observance of communion. Coffee is available before the Sunday services at both campuses, and the Mandarin Campus adds donuts and pastries.

Parking team volunteers greet arriving cars, and inside, the friendly Orange Shirt volunteers and the Big Blue Wall in the Atrium are easy landmarks for newcomers. Dress is casual; jeans, shorts, dresses, and suits all fit right in. Services are also livestreamed online at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sundays through live.christs.church, and a sermon archive stretching back several years is available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and YouTube.

Monday Night at Mandarin

For those who can't make a Sunday or who prefer a smaller setting, the Mandarin Campus also hosts a Monday night service. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the service begins at 6:30 p.m. It offers the same message as the previous Sunday alongside worship and communion in a more intimate atmosphere, and free childcare is available from birth through kindergarten.

CCKids: Birth Through Fifth Grade

CCKids is the children's ministry of Christ's Church, offered during every Sunday service at both campuses for children from birth through fifth grade. Its mission is to partner with parents in raising a generation to know and follow Jesus, organized around three primary objectives: helping kids discover who Jesus is, learn to trust Him, and find ways to live out their faith. A detailed check-in process is used the first time a family visits, and pre-registration is encouraged so that the experience moves quickly on Sunday morning. Children with special needs are welcomed as part of the program.

Parents can request a printed copy of the Becoming Part of God's Family baptism booklet from any CCKids team member to walk younger children through the meaning of believer's baptism.

CCStudents: Middle and High School

CCStudents gathers middle and high schoolers around the goal of leading one more student to Jesus. At the Mandarin Campus, middle schoolers in grades 6 through 8 meet during both Sunday morning services, while high schoolers in grades 9 through 12 attend the main Sunday morning services and gather for a special high school service on Sunday evenings, with doors opening at 5 p.m. At the River City Campus, both middle and high school students meet together at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Student ministry contacts are Noah Brooke for the Mandarin Campus and Noah Williams for the River City Campus.

Senior Adults on Tuesday and Wednesday Mornings

Adults 55 and older are invited into a regular midweek Bible study that combines coffee, fellowship, hymn singing, Bible teaching, and mission projects. The Mandarin Campus study meets Wednesdays at 10 a.m., and the River City Campus study meets Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Throughout the year, the senior adults take trips together for fellowship and discipleship, with Mark Tyre serving as the Senior Adult Pastor.

T-Groups and D-Groups: Discipleship in Community

Small groups are at the heart of discipleship at Christ's Church. The church operates two complementary structures. T-Groups are intentional groups of three to five same-gender people who meet regularly to study Scripture, build authentic relationships, and help one another take next steps with Jesus. New T-Groups begin with an eight-week Trust and Follow study, and the goal is multiplication; as disciples grow, they launch new T-Groups so more people can experience life-changing discipleship. More than forty-eight active T-Groups and 190-plus people are currently growing in faith together through this network.

D-Groups are slightly larger communities of five to twenty people, including married couples, young adults, men, women, parents, or people in similar life stages or neighborhoods, that gather around God's Word. Both kinds of groups use the 3/3rds method, a simple way of looking back at the week, looking up at Scripture, and looking ahead to application, with no Bible degree required. The Groups Team at each campus, led by Miles Scott at Mandarin and Josh Serre at River City, helps newcomers find a good fit.

Wednesday Evenings Around the Table

On Wednesday evenings at the Mandarin Campus, the church opens a wide range of options that run in multi-week sessions through the year. Table Discussions gather people around tables from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Mandarin Room to dig deeper into the Scripture taught on Sunday, with childcare available by registration. Each week stands on its own, so newcomers can jump in at any time.

The same Wednesday evening window hosts a Women's Group (room 507A), an Evening Mom's Group (room 505A), a Men's Group (room 507B), and a Mixed Group (room 505B). On Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m., a Morning Mom's Group gathers in rooms 511, 512, and 513, with Christy Phillips, Hedy Walls, and Michele Pall among its leaders. All of these groups use the Sunday message as their starting point and emphasize community, Scripture, and application.

Disciple Me, a short relational class, is offered monthly on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings at the Mandarin Campus for those who want to follow Jesus more intentionally. Made for More, a four-week Wednesday evening experience, helps people discover their gifts and find a place to serve.

Care, Counseling, and Support Groups

The Care Team at Christ's Church exists so that no one walks through life alone. Prayer, practical resources, and referrals are available through a downloadable Care Resource Guide. Care contacts include Lindsey Daniels at the Mandarin Campus and Josh Serre at the River City Campus, with a general line at 904-886-8210.

Two long-running video-based support groups are offered each fall. GriefShare is a thirteen-week series for people who have lost a loved one, and DivorceCare is a thirteen-week series for those navigating separation or divorce. Both meet Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at the Mandarin Campus.

A year-round Cancer Support Group meets Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in room 508A, offering spiritual, emotional, and practical care for those facing diagnosis or treatment or supporting a loved one. A Parkinson's Support and Exercise Group meets Wednesdays at 6 p.m. in the CCKids Chapel and is open to people living with Parkinson's, including those in wheelchairs, along with family and supporters; no registration is required. Foster the Family, a support group for foster and adoptive mothers, meets the second Sunday of each month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Mandarin Room. THRIVE, a group for mothers navigating unplanned pregnancy, meets Wednesdays in the fall from 6:30 p.m. in room 427.

The church maintains a list of vetted Christian counselors in the Jacksonville area, including Mandarin Christian Counseling Center, The Marriage Foundry, Stapleton Counseling, The Living Well Collective, Faithful and True (a men's support group for sexual sin), and several individual practitioners. A Symbis premarital assessment is available for engaged couples, and a list of recommended marriage, parenting, and recovery books is also available.

Mental Health and the Local Network

Christ's Church takes mental health seriously and has gathered a broad set of resources for the community. Local providers across Jacksonville include SMA Healthcare, MHRC, Northwest Behavioral Health Services, River Region Human Services, NAMI Jacksonville, Florida Health Duval County, EPIC Behavioral Healthcare, SMA St. Johns, Nemours Children's Hospital, and Wolfson Children's Hospital. National hotlines include 988, the Veterans Crisis Line, the Teen Hotline, SAMHSA, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and Florida 211. A short message series on mental health is recommended for anyone wanting to dig deeper.

Marriage, Family, and the Hard Conversations

Moo Hadden, the Marriage and Life Pastor, oversees marriage and family ministry at the Mandarin Campus. Engaged couples are encouraged to take the Symbis premarital assessment, and the Care Team maintains a list of recommended marriage resources by authors such as Emerson Eggerichs, Willard F. Harley Jr., Gary Chapman, Henry Cloud, and Jay Stringer, along with books for blended and adoptive families.

For parents, the church has built a large library of articles addressing hard questions and tricky topics, from "Why do bad things happen to good people?" to "The Talk" to parenting through divorce to screen time guidelines. The intent is to give parents a starting point for conversations at home, not a one-size-fits-all answer. Parents can also connect with the children's or student ministry team directly for additional support.

Educational Ministries: Christ's Church Academy

Christ's Church Academy (CCA) is the church's K-12 school, located on the Mandarin Campus in a new facility that opened in August 2022. The school is accredited with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and has been part of the church's ministry for more than twenty-five years. CCA seeks to develop each child's unique potential to be a lifelong learner, a disciple of Jesus Christ, and a productive citizen, with a balance of academics, athletics, and the fine arts.

The CCA Preschool, established in 1987 as Sharing Tree Preschool, is also ACSI-accredited and provides care and early education in an atmosphere of loving acceptance. The preschool is open to families in the broader Mandarin community regardless of church membership. Dr. John Stubblefield leads CCA as Head of School.

Beliefs, Baptism, and Church Government

Christ's Church holds to a set of core beliefs rooted in Scripture. The church confesses one God eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaches that Jesus Christ, God's only Son, died for our sins and rose again. The Holy Spirit is believed to indwell every believer at salvation, convicting the world of sin and empowering growth and service. The Bible is the inspired, written Word of God and the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.

Salvation is understood as a free gift received through grace by those who believe in Jesus, repent of sin, confess Him publicly, and are baptized. Christ's Church practices believer's baptism by full immersion under water, following the example and command of Jesus. The church teaches that the Church is the body and bride of Christ, founded on the day of Pentecost, and that death seals each person's eternal destiny: the saved to eternal life with Christ, the unsaved to separation from God.

The church is governed by a body of Elders: Sim Bridges (Chairman), Troy McCollough (Secretary), Bill Anderson, Pierre Fuller, Brian Pall, and Jason Cullum (Teaching Elder).

Serving Here, Near, and Far Away

Christ's Church teaches that every follower of Jesus is called to live on mission. The Engage Ministry Tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the Experience, Formation, and Engage ministries work, with opportunities to meet ministry leaders and hear volunteer stories. Made for More is a four-week class that helps people identify their gifts and find a place to serve. A free spiritual gifts assessment is available online.

Serving opportunities are organized into three areas: Here and Near, Regional, and Far Away. Local partners include ministries supporting military and veterans, prison and reentry work, special needs and disabilities, vulnerable women and children, food insecurity, homeless and underserved families, school partnerships, and intercessory prayer. Regional efforts support church planting, incarceration outreach, and military ministry across Florida. Short-term mission trips extend the church's reach internationally.

Giving and Financial Transparency

Generosity is described at Christ's Church as an act of gratitude rather than obligation. Giving is available online through the church's giving platform, by text message (text 904-204-1717 with a campus keyword and amount), in the giving boxes at church, or by mail to 6045 Greenland Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32258. An independent auditor's report is published each year as part of the church's financial transparency. The Elders maintain strict financial governance, including a minimum of twelve weeks of offerings in contingency and a yearly external audit. Charlie McLane, who leads the Stewardship team, is the contact for questions about financial policy.

Getting Connected

Anyone new to Christ's Church is invited to Welcome to Christ's Church, a relaxed gathering held twice a month after service, where newcomers hear the story and vision of the church and meet staff and leaders. The Groups Team helps connect newcomers to T-Groups, D-Groups, Table Discussions, and other ministry opportunities.

Members can register for events, give, submit prayer requests, and access a member directory through the my.christs.church login. The church app is also available for iOS and Android. Services are livestreamed online, and a sermon archive is available on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Google Podcasts. The church shares updates through Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
