Chinese and English Worship at Williams Road in San Jose
Chinese for Christ Church of San Jose is at 4255 Williams Road in San Jose, a location the congregation describes as central to Cupertino, Saratoga, Campbell, and Santa Clara. The church's phone number is (408) 725-8733. Founded in 1974, it has grown into a congregation of more than 300 and is known for worship and teaching in Chinese and English, small groups woven through the week, and ministries for families, children, young people, and adults at different stages of faith. Among those who call this their spiritual home are young people raised in the United States and Chinese-speaking believers and seekers from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia.
Sunday worship, learning, and Communion
Sunday is built around two Chinese worship services and one English service, with times for worship, praise, learning God's word, and Communion. The first Chinese gathering is in person, while the English service and second Chinese service can be joined in person or online. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
- 8:00 to 9:10 a.m.: First Chinese worship service.
- 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.: English worship service, available in person and online.
- 9:40 to 10:40 a.m.: Adult Sunday School and Faith Foundations Class, available in person and online via Zoom.
- 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Combined children's worship and Sunday school for children in fifth grade or younger.
- 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Second Chinese worship service, available in person and through the YouTube livestream.
A parent-child room outside the main sanctuary is set aside for pregnant women and accompanying caregivers, infants, and caregivers. The church asks that it not be entered except when needed, helping preserve maternal and infant health and provide a peaceful worship environment. The sermon archive lists messages dating to 2011, and the media collection includes audio and video recordings of biblical teaching.
Monday Bible Study and Wednesday Prayer
The Bible Overview study meets online through Zoom every Monday from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Prayer Meeting begins at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and can be attended at the church or online through Zoom. Adult Sunday School, Faith Foundations, prayer, and the Monday Bible study use the Zoom password 4255. These gatherings continue the church's emphasis on learning the Bible, establishing spiritual habits, and applying faith to daily life.
Small Groups and Fellowships Across the Week
The church's vision calls for groups near the church and members' residences where people can learn and nourish one another, accept and give care, teach and be taught, encourage one another, forgive, and serve. The regular schedule includes family and fellowship groups, English small groups, and an ESL class.
- Tuesday: South 1 meets at 8:00 p.m., and Sister meets at 9:00 a.m.

English OASES meets on both Saturday and Sunday, while Oasis CPC and Saltshakers offer additional English gatherings. The weekly ESL class is a distinct part of the schedule and gives the church another way to welcome people seeking help with English.
Children, Youth, and English Ministry
Children's ministry includes AWANA, children's worship, VBS, and other activities. The combined Sunday worship and Sunday school for children in fifth grade or younger runs from 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The extended session gives younger children a defined place within the church's Sunday rhythm rather than separating children's formation entirely from worship.
The English ministry is anchored by the 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship gathering and groups including OASES, Saltshakers, and Oasis CPC. The English and youth ministry is led by 李廣涵 (Hanna Lee), while 夏祖匡 (George Sya) leads children's ministry. The congregation's welcome to American-raised young people, alongside Chinese-speaking families from several countries and regions, gives young people a place within the wider bilingual church.
Family Ministry for Couples, Parents, and Whole-Person Care
Family ministry is grounded in biblical truth and God's intention in creation for marriage and family. Its work has three broad dimensions: caring for the whole person, strengthening the relationship of spouses, and helping parents raise their children. Consulting elders 周泓宇 and 謝昌林, family ministry director 馬桂庭, and couples and parenting teams carry out this work. The ministry's recurring formation includes marriage and child-raising growth groups, personal and small-group discipleship, and training for those who guide families.
Family resources include an EQ and life-renewal video course, Max Lucado's Fearless video series, teaching on healthy family relationships, and sessions about maintaining a good relationship with children. These resources support the family's stated emphasis on whole-person care, relationships that reflect biblical truth, and principles that can be applied at home.
A Gospel Vision for San Jose and a Church Equipped to Serve
The church's mission is to bring people outside the church to faith in Christ and to mature those within it into committed Christ followers. Its vision begins with providing a community where thousands of Chinese residents and new immigrants can receive the emotional, social, and spiritual help they need.
Chinese for Christ Church of San Jose wants to share the good news of the gospel with people without church experience and unconverted friends, especially Chinese people in south San Jose. It envisions small groups near the church and members' residences, spiritual lives marked by regular habits and maturity in Christ, and the discovery and development of each member's gifts for God's use. Members are also equipped to serve as missionaries through short-term mission work or by becoming full-time pastors and missionaries.
Departments and ministry leaders
The church's ministry work covers evangelism, missions, social welfare, care, welcome, education, worship, children, fellowships and small groups, festivals, family life, and English and youth ministry.

What the Church Confesses
The church confesses one God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - as creator, and it believes the Bible is God's inspired, errorless Word and the highest standard for Christian belief and life. Jesus Christ is affirmed as God's only Son, born of the Virgin Mary, sinless in life, mighty in miracles, and given for humanity's redemption. The church also believes in his bodily resurrection, ascension, and return in power and glory.
Salvation comes through the blood of Jesus Christ. The church practices water baptism as a symbol of a believer's death, burial, and resurrection with Christ, and it regularly observes Holy Communion. Its confession includes the present ministry and baptism of the Holy Spirit, who regenerates, teaches, empowers, and enables Christians to live godly lives. It also affirms the resurrection of the saved and unsaved, the spiritual unity of believers, and the church as the body of Christ in which members belong to one another and love one another.
Giving and Continuing Equipping
The church supports ministry through an online giving code, Zelle at epay@cfccsj.org, PayPal, the offering box in the sanctuary, and checks payable to CFCCSJ with a giving category noted. Online giving is available through the church's giving options. Equipping resources include worship sound-control training, Bible study notes, family material on healthy relationships, an EQ and life-renewal course, and Max Lucado's Fearless video series. The extensive sermon archive preserves biblical messages dating to 2011 for continued listening and study.
At its core, Chinese for Christ Church of San Jose is a bilingual church centered on worship, discipleship, mutual care, and mission. Its history since 1974 connects three Sunday worship gatherings with a full week of prayer, study, family formation, children's ministry, English ministry, small groups, and preparation for service in homes, throughout the San Jose community, and through missions.
