Canyon Road Church meets on the east side of Ogden at 1390 Canyon Road, a Pentecostal congregation affiliated with the Assemblies of God that has shaped its ministry around families, practical Bible teaching, and a bilingual congregation that gathers each Sunday in English and Spanish. The church's stated purpose is to glorify God by leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus, and it challenges members to grow through three rhythms: Sunday services, serving, and small groups.
Sunday Mornings in English and Spanish
The Sunday schedule is built around two back-to-back services. A Spanish-language service begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by the English service at 10:30 a.m. Each gathering runs about an hour and opens with heartfelt worship music before moving into a practical, Bible-centered message. Visitors are encouraged to arrive ten to fifteen minutes early, park anywhere available, and enter through the main doors, where greeters are ready to help.
The atmosphere is intentionally relaxed. There is no dress code - on any given Sunday you will see everything from jeans and T-shirts to business casual - and no one is asked to wear a name tag, speak publicly, sing, or give. A connection card sits in the pew for anyone who would like prayer, more information, or a follow-up call.
A Place for Families and Kids
Canyon Road Kids is a cornerstone of the church's family focus. Nursery care is offered throughout the 10:30 a.m. service, and Children’s Church for kindergarten through sixth grade begins after kids join the congregation for the opening songs. From there, children head to an age-appropriate classroom where teachers walk chronologically through the Bible, singing, dancing, and teaching the major stories of Scripture. Families can register their children in advance online so that a first Sunday goes more smoothly.
Canyon Youth and Young Adults
Middle and high school students have their own Sunday School that meets during the 10:30 a.m. service, led by Youth Pastor Aiden Wead. Beyond Sunday mornings, Canyon Youth gathers monthly for outings and fellowship, with dates posted to the church calendar. For older students and twentysomethings, the Yung Adults group - led by Casey Gilboy - meets roughly monthly or every other month for connection and Bible conversation. Current schedules are shared through the church's Instagram.
Life Groups Across the Week
Small groups are where Canyon Road encourages the kind of friendship and accountability that Sunday alone cannot provide. Several ongoing groups meet on different days and in different homes around the area. A Ladies Bible Study gathers Thursdays at 10:00 a.m., while Morris’ Group meets on Sundays and Lonny’s Group on the third Saturday of each month (taking August off). Keith and Nancy’s Group meets every other Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. In every group the pattern is similar: build real friendships, study Scripture, pray for one another, and walk through life together.
Men's and Women's Ministry
The Men’s Ministry exists to help men grow in faith, build strong friendships, and encourage one another through every season of life, centered on the simple pillars of faith, brotherhood, and purpose. The Women’s Ministry - overseen by Casey Gilboy - is a welcoming space shaped around connection, faith, and encouragement, with opportunities for women to grow in friendship and walk through every stage of life together. Specific gathering times are coordinated through the church.
TLC Food Pantry
One of the most visible ways Canyon Road reaches beyond its walls is the TLC Food Pantry, which serves neighbors in need on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. The pantry is set up as a drive-through at the church building: drivers pull up, pop open their trunk, and a volunteer team loads groceries in. No income verification is required, and food is given out while supplies last. Volunteers are always welcome to join the team.
What Canyon Road Believes
Canyon Road Church is affiliated with the Assemblies of God and subscribes to the denomination's sixteen fundamental truths. In its own words, the church teaches that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, that there is one sovereign God, that Jesus Christ is Lord, that salvation is found through Christ alone, that believers may be baptized in the Holy Spirit, and that the local church exists as a movement of God's people to fulfill the Great Commission. The pastors describe the church as committed to historic Christian faith and the faithful teaching of Scripture.
Pastors and Leaders
Dan Gilboy serves as Lead Pastor, and his wife Casey Gilboy leads both worship and the Women’s Ministry. Miguel leads worship alongside the team, while Aiden Wead oversees Canyon Youth. Salvador and Marisela Vazquez lead the Spanish congregation. Giving is available in person through offering boxes near the back of the sanctuary, by mail (checks made out to Canyon Road Assembly of God), and online, and services are livestreamed on the church's YouTube channel for those who want to follow along from home.
