Iglesia Cristiana Canaan, located on Ojeman Road in Houston, Texas, is known for Spanish-language celebration services, a family-centered welcome, and the GPS small-group ministry. The church gathers at 1829 Ojeman Rd., with worship at 10:00 AM on Sunday and a general service from 8:00 to 10:00 PM on Friday.
Sunday Celebration and Friday General Service
The Sunday gathering is named “Domingo de Celebración” and begins at 10:00 AM. Its invitation is direct: “Te esperamos en familia.” The church’s broader welcome says, “Hay un lugar para ti y tu familia.” Both messages place families at the center of the Sunday gathering, while Canaan Kids gives children a ministry of their own. The service is held at 1829 Ojeman Rd., Houston, Texas 77080. Its general contact is (713) 464-1836 and ministerioscanaan@gmail.com.
Friday adds a second weekly rhythm. The recurring gathering is titled “Viernes de Celebración” and is also identified as “Servicio General.” It runs from 8:00 to 10:00 PM, giving families and individuals a late-evening worship gathering each week. Both services recur weekly.
En Vivo Worship and Online Giving
Iglesia Canaan offers an “En vivo” broadcast and worship through its YouTube channel. The church also makes online giving available through its Donate link. Worship is available in person and through YouTube, and gifts can be made online.
Canaan Kids and Chosen Youth
Canaan Kids is the church’s ministry for children, while Chosen Youth serves young people. Canaan Kids and Chosen Youth are distinct ministry areas alongside GPS and the church’s adult groups. The family welcome connects these younger ministries to the congregation’s larger emphasis on welcoming children, young people and their families.
GPS: Grupos Pequeños y Seguros
GPS stands for “Grupos Pequeños y Seguros.” The church provides a manual for GPS leaders and a multiyear collection of annual group guides. The GPS materials were created by Iglesia Canaan Ojeman and are free to use. The leader manual and recurring guide editions make leader preparation an explicit part of the small-group ministry.
Damas Canaan, Caballeros Canaan, and Enamorados2
Women’s ministry is called Damas Canaan, while Caballeros Canaan is identified as “Solo para hombres.” Enamorados2 focuses on marriage, with resources addressing finances within a couple, communication, sexuality, and marriage counselors. These are three separately named areas of ministry: one for women, one for men, and one for couples.
Doctrinal and Discipleship Learning
Iglesia Canaan makes available a Manual de Doctrinas para Líderes, 8 Lecciones para Líderes, and additional discipleship materials under the MDISCIPULADO and RDDP titles. The church’s doctrinal formation is represented through the leader manual, while separate lessons address leadership and discipleship study. These named materials sit alongside the GPS leader manual and yearly guides, adding structured study and training to the church’s ministry.
Iglesia Cristiana Canaan brings these pieces together around a clear weekly pattern: Sunday celebration worship at 10:00 AM, Friday general service from 8:00 to 10:00 PM, and live viewing through YouTube. Children, young people, GPS groups, women, men, and couples each have a named ministry, while manuals, lessons, and discipleship materials provide congregational training. These ministries and practices define Iglesia Cristiana Canaan at 1829 Ojeman Rd. in Houston.
