A South Lafayette Family of Believers
Brady Lane Church sits on the south side of Lafayette, Indiana, where it has built its identity around a simple three-part rhythm: believing, living, and connecting. The congregation describes itself as a non-denominational Restoration Movement church, part of a fellowship of congregations that look to the New Testament pattern of the early church and hold to Scripture alone as their doctrinal guide. Members often say the same thing in different words. One called it a place "filled with folks who genuinely want to love Jesus." Another said walking through the doors brought an immediate feeling of being welcomed.
What Brady Lane Believes
The congregation's beliefs are laid out plainly. Brady Lane holds that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he died on the cross for sin and rose again on the third day, and that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Those who accept Christ are taught to repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized. The church affirms that every person has worth as a creation of God while also acknowledging that "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Members look forward to the return of Christ and understand the church as the body of Christ on earth, existing to reach the lost and build up believers.
Two Sunday Services and a Sunday School Hour
Sunday at Brady Lane is built around three touchpoints. The 8:30 a.m. traditional service opens the morning with timeless hymns, communion, a sermon, and a community prayer time, the kind of hour that longtime members describe as familiar and unhurried. At 9:45 a.m., Sunday School fills an hour with classes for adults, children, and students who want to dig into the Bible and connect with one another. The 11:00 a.m. contemporary service brings in a worship band, newer songs, communion, and the same Bible teaching, offering a more modern feel for those who prefer it. The auditorium seats more than 200, and average adult attendance runs between 100 and 120, so visitors are unlikely to feel lost in a crowd.
Children From Nursery Through Fifth Grade
Children have a full program alongside the 9:45 Sunday School hour and the 11:00 contemporary service. A staffed nursery is open for infants up to 18 months. Toddlers from 18 months to 3 years hear a Bible story and work on a related activity. Preschoolers ages 3 to 5 watch a curriculum video, sing a visual worship song, and finish with an activity and a snack. Elementary students from kindergarten through fifth grade take in the same curriculum video, a worship song, and a craft. Every teacher in the children's area is background checked, and a camera system covers the rooms. A secured check-in system pairs each child with the right parent at pickup, and an emergency response team stands ready.
IMPACT Student Ministry
Middle and high schoolers have their own place. IMPACT Youth Ministry gathers 6th through 12th graders on Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. during the school year for a fellowship time, worship, and a message. Students are also encouraged to sit in with the adult services on Sunday mornings. The program is led by Student Ministry Director Sarina Mickle, who began serving in April 2024 and lives near Attica with her husband Marcus and son Liam.
HomePointe: Building Strong Spiritual Families
HomePointe is Brady Lane's family ministry, coordinated by Tricia Roller. Its focus is building strong spiritual families, equipping parents and households to follow Christ together. HomePointe complements the Sunday morning children's and student programs by walking alongside families during the week.
Good Shepherd Learning Center
For more than twenty-five years, Good Shepherd Learning Center has been an early-childhood education option for families in the Greater Lafayette area. Housed at the Brady Lane campus, the preschool offers a Tuesday and Thursday class for 3- to 5-year-olds and a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Pre-Kindergarten class for 4- and 5-year-olds, both running from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Director Tricia Roller leads a teaching team of Cristina Nunez, Peyton Fulk, and Cheryl Fletcher. The program nurtures children spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. Spiritual goals include fostering an awareness of God as Creator, Jesus as God's Son, and Christian values. Intellectual work introduces reading and math readiness, language development, and Zoophonics. The center uses a reward-based discipline system and does not use corporal punishment. Students must be independently potty trained to enroll. Applications open each spring for the fall semester.
Leadership, Elders, and Ministry Teams
Brady Lane is led by a team of elders who shepherd the flock through prayer, protection, policy, and pastoral care. The current elders are Rob Brown and Jacob Stigall. Mike Roller serves as Finance Team Leader, and Andy Harrison leads the Outreach Team and the Next Generation Team and also preaches. Lead Minister Jeff Keller preaches and teaches, leads pastoral care, guides the leadership team as a non-voting elder, and oversees missions and adult discipleship. Lee Anna Atwell directs worship and the creative arts. Lesley McKowen directs the Next Generation Ministry, which covers the nursery through elementary programs as well as Vacation Bible School and family events.
Around the elders and staff sit eleven ministry teams where members can serve: Connect, Missions, Guest Services, Finance, Facilities, Worship, Media, Outreach, Discipleship, Elements, Prayer, and Next Generation.
Life Beyond Sunday Morning
The church offers a busy weekly and monthly calendar outside its Sunday hours. Life Groups and Sunday School classes meet throughout the week for Bible study and fellowship. Family Game Nights fill the second and fourth Friday of each month with fellowship for all ages. The Active Life Ministry organizes pickleball, softball, hiking trips, golf, and volleyball. Ladies of Faith and other groups engage senior members of the congregation. Vacation Bible School pulls in families each year, and the Next Generation Team helps shape how the church reaches its kids.
What Brady Lane Values
Six values shape the congregation's daily life. Members see themselves as managers, not owners, and so they value giving to God. They value relationships with God and with one another. They value their neighbors and pursue outreach in the surrounding community. They value the Bible as truth. They treat worship as a lifestyle rather than a Sunday event. And they value time spent listening to and talking with God in prayer.
Visiting Brady Lane
