Sunday Mornings, Three Times a Day
Crossroads Church meets every Sunday morning at 8:45, 10:15, and 11:45 AM at 500 South IH-35 in Belton, Texas. Worship is held in the main auditorium, and the 10:15 AM service is livestreamed on YouTube for those who want to participate from home. The dress code is intentionally relaxed; the church welcomes anyone who wants to come as they are, whether casual or dressed up.
Each gathering is built around the two phrases that anchor the congregation: "Love Christ, Serve People." Crossroads describes itself as "a family of dynamic worshipers who love each other and the presentation of the Word of God," and the services reflect that. Music, prayer, and teaching are paired with a Bible-based message aimed at both committed believers and those still exploring faith. Sunday morning check-in for children opens thirty minutes before each service begins.
Live Translation in Spanish
Spanish-speaking visitors are met with the same three services in the main auditorium, accompanied by real-time English-to-Spanish translation through the Interprefy app. The audience token is crossroadsbelton, and the app can be downloaded for phones and tablets. Pastor Horacio Salgado leads the Spanish-language ministry, known as CRC Español, and the church's belief statements and life-group philosophy are mirrored in Spanish on a dedicated page. Crossroads holds the conviction that growing, laughing, crying, and pushing one another to do better happens together, and the translation option is part of that commitment.
CRC Kids, Birth Through Fifth Grade
Crossroads Kids partners with parents to teach children about the life-changing love of Christ and how it applies to their lives right now. The ministry offers learning environments for infants, preschoolers, elementary-aged students, and children with special needs. Services run alongside the three Sunday morning services.
Infants from birth to twenty-three months spend their time in the nursery, where worship music and prayer play throughout. Parents are asked to bring ready-made formula or milk, diapers, an extra change of clothes, and a comfort item, all clearly labeled. The Pre-K rooms, for children ages two through five, build a foundation of Jesus through interactive, Bible-based lessons and welcome diapers, pull-ups, a change of clothes, and a cup or pacifier. The elementary program, for kindergarten through fifth grade, deepens the teaching with age-appropriate Biblical truths, worship, and prayer.
Every child receives a name tag with allergies, caregiver information, and a matching security code. Every volunteer is background checked and trained. The ministry operates a well-child environment; children must be free of fever, cold or flu symptoms, open wounds, persistent cough, vomiting, diarrhea, pink eye, or any contagious disease for at least twenty-four hours before entering a classroom. Crossroads staff cannot dispense prescription creams or medications.
The Ark: A Place for Children with Special Needs
The Ark is Crossroads' special-needs children's ministry, welcoming children ages two through twelve who face physical, mental, behavioral, medical, or emotional challenges that would benefit from additional support. Special accommodations may be made for children over twelve with prior approval. Trained volunteers staff the rooms, and the same security practices used throughout CRC Kids apply here: name tags, allergy information, caregiver codes, and background-checked volunteers.
The Ark is built on the conviction that everyone should have the opportunity to hear the gospel. The ministry's anchor verse is Ephesians 2:10: "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." Parents can register through the Buddy Form on the church's Ark page and reach the director, Felicia, by email with any questions.
Crew Night for Middle and High School Students
Crossroads Youth gathers 6th through 12th graders on Wednesday evenings for Crew Night, a Bible study and community time that runs from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in a space called the Outback. Students hang out, dive into God's Word, tackle real questions, build friendships, and grow closer to God. Themed nights, such as Western Night, Glow Night, Hoodie Night, Tie Dye Night, and Trucker Hat Night, run throughout the semester.
On Sunday mornings, Crossroads Youth meets during all three worship services and offers what the church describes as more than just a service: a place where students encounter the presence of God, hear messages that speak directly to their lives, and build real friendships. Authentic worship, meaningful conversation, and questions that matter are all part of the rhythm.
Young Adults Around the Table
CRC Young Adults connects college-aged students, ages eighteen to twenty-five, through activities, meals, and events. The group has no set curriculum and is built around fellowship. Bobby and Heather Lewis lead the community; the couple has been married for twenty-two years, has six children, and has spent more than twenty-five years in worship ministry. Originally from San Diego, they love seeing people filled with the Spirit of God enter and rest in His presence.
Believers Class and Baptism by Immersion
Believers is a four-week class for new or returning believers who have committed to follow Jesus Christ. It meets every Sunday during the second service, from 10:15 to 11:15 AM, and again during the third service, from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM.
Crossroads practices baptism by full water immersion, scheduled several times a year, typically following the 11:45 AM service. The church teaches that baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation through personal faith in Jesus Christ, not the act that saves a person. Baptism does not require a sponsor or godparent; the community gathered around the baptismal waters serves that role. The baptism team welcomes anyone a candidate would like to perform the baptism, provided that person is a baptized Christ-follower.
Candidates are asked to wear dark, non-see-through clothing and to bring a change of clothes; women are encouraged to avoid dresses or skirts. Extra clothing in all sizes is on hand for spontaneous decisions. Baptism is reserved for those able to express their own decision to follow Jesus. For children too young to make that decision, Crossroads offers Baby and Child Dedication.
Baby and Child Dedication
Baby and Child Dedication is recommended for children from birth through age six. Parents stand on stage with their children during the ceremony, which takes about thirty minutes in the sanctuary immediately following the third service. A pastor prays over each family.
Two prerequisites shape the ceremony. At least one parent must be a Christ-follower, and at least one parent must attend Crossroads. Friends and family are welcome and encouraged to attend, and some even stand with the family on stage. A volunteer photographer captures the moment, though families are welcome to bring their own photographer as well. The dedication itself does not affect a child's salvation; it is a commitment parents make before God and their faith community to raise their child to follow Jesus.
Generations: A Two-Year Initiative for the Next Chapter
Crossroads has launched a two-year generosity initiative called Generations. The stated goal is nine million dollars over two years, every gift going into one combined fund that supports the church's ministry vision during the season. The initiative is structured around three movements: Engage Today, Pursue Tomorrow, and Believe Forever. The church describes its current facility as thriving with souls and points to a need for additional space to grow, engage, and disciple its expanding family.
A five-week sermon series on the life of Abraham frames the campaign. Abraham, the teaching notes read, was chosen by God to create an impact that would far surpass his own generation, and his legacy was crafted through radical faith and obedience. The commitment fulfillment period runs from December 2024 through December 2026, and gifts of stock or property can be arranged through the church office.
Counseling and Crisis Care
Crossroads maintains a directory of trusted biblical counselors available to the congregation and the wider community, organized by provider and including Pathways, Insight Counseling, Becoming More, Travis Counseling, Bruce's Healing Hub, Willow Counseling Collective, Full Strength, Christian Counselors Network, Breaking Free Solutions, JMS Counseling, The Timothy Center, Riverstone Counseling Center, and Rock Union. Several are listed for online sessions. The page also points to crisis resources for those in immediate need and anchors the ministry in Hebrews 13:5: "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." Gretchen Kendall serves as Care Pastor.
Serving, Groups, and Life Together
Anyone interested in volunteering starts with Serve @ CRC, a class held on the second and fourth Sunday of each month at 11:45 AM in the church offices upstairs in the CRKids building. No registration is needed; arrival by 11:30 AM is recommended. After the class, a serve form opens the door to teams in worship, production, first impressions, Crossroads Kids, Crossroads Youth, and other ministries.
Life Groups are the church's small-group pathway. Members are encouraged to engage in a group for accountable, encouraging relationships, with the conviction that life-change occurs in settings where individuals share and spur one another toward spiritual growth. Discipleship resources, including studies on salvation, the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, the Trinity, spiritual disciplines, the fruit of the Spirit, and discerning the voice of God, are available to help members grow.
The Thrasher Family Legacy
Pastors Matt and Holly Thrasher have been the senior leaders of Crossroads Church since 2009. During their tenure the church has seen significant growth and is described by the congregation as one of the fastest-growing churches in the nation. They lead with a genuine love for people and an authentic relationship with Christ, and together they believe in Kingdom ministry.
Before them, Pastors Harry and Carol Thrasher came to Belton to lead Crossroads in 1991. Together they have served in full-time ministry for more than fifty years, building a legacy of generosity, love, and faithfulness that set a firm foundation for the generations that followed. The Executive Pastor team includes Brian Crane, Brian Grant, and Kameron Kersey, with CeCe Puckett leading CRC Kids, Tori Chapman directing worship, and Gretchen Kendall overseeing care.
What to Wear, Where to Park, and How to Give
Crossroads does not enforce a strict dress code. Whether someone comes in jeans or a suit, the goal is the same: to gather, worship, and hear the Word of God taught. The building sits right off Interstate 35 on the south side of Belton, easily accessible from the highway.
Giving is offered in three ways: by mail to the PO Box, by text message ("crcbelton" followed by the amount to 77977), or online through the church's giving platform. Baptisms, baby dedications, and the Believers Class are scheduled through the events page, and the livestream, sermon archive, and podcast are all available online for those who cannot attend in person.
