At the edge of Southern Oregon's Applegate Valley along Highway 238, Applegate Christian Fellowship gathers a non-denominational body of believers whose teaching moves straight through the Bible. Verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book, the fellowship anchors itself in Scripture and at the table of Communion. The church traces its roots to 1977.
Sunday Mornings in the Amphitheater
Sunday worship at ACF takes place at 10:00 AM in the Amphitheater, an outdoor worship space on the church campus. The service gathers the Body of Christ to worship, study God's Word, and share Communion together. Childcare is available for children from newborn through 5th grade, so parents can settle in without distraction.
Weekday Rhythms of Prayer and Study
The verse-by-verse approach shapes the whole weekly calendar. Mornings open with worship from 6:30 to 7:30 AM on weekdays in the Sanctuary, where anyone can drop in briefly or stay the full hour. Wednesday nights bring an in-depth Bible study at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary, with childcare from newborn through junior high.
Men gather every Thursday at 6:00 AM in the Upper Room to sharpen one another around God's Word. The 55 Live group, led by Dan Patterson, meets Tuesdays at 10:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall for anyone 55 and older looking for worship, Bible study, prayer, and friendship.
Ministries for Every Generation
ACF organizes its ministry around generations. The Grade School ministry rests on Psalm 145:4 - one generation declaring God's mighty acts to another - and teaches children how to follow Jesus while keeping things fun.
Junior High students meet every Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. The focus is on walking with Jesus. Rather than teaching a list of dos and don'ts, the leaders point students to Christ and let Him shape them from the inside out. Evenings include worship, fellowship, and study.
High School students meet Friday nights from 5:00 to 9:00 PM in the Upper Room. Dinner is provided, and the evening includes worship in song, communion, and Bible study alongside games and fellowship.
Women's ministry holds two weekly studies of the Women of the Bible. Tuesday evenings at 6:00 PM the group meets at the Central Point Library Meeting Room. Friday mornings at 10:00 AM the group meets in the ACF Fellowship Hall with childcare through age 9. Materials are free, and no registration is needed for the Friday gathering.
The Mountain Top Retreat Center
On the same campus as the church, the Mountain Top Retreat Center extends ACF's ministry of rest and study. A main lodge and cabins host group retreats devoted to Bible study and prayer, led by Applegate pastors and elders. Personal retreats are available on weekdays for those who attend ACF full-time and can be arranged by calling (541) 899-8732 ext. 1122. The annual Mountain Top Retreat for women 16 and up is a Friday-evening-to-Saturday-afternoon gathering with meals, bedding, and towels provided. The retreat center takes its inspiration from Mark 6:31 - "Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while."
What Applegate Christian Fellowship Believes
ACF describes itself as a body of believers desiring to know the Lord Jesus Christ and to make Him known, in an ever-increasing measure. It is a non-denominational fellowship associated with all who are in the Body of Christ.
The fellowship centers its teaching on several convictions: the only true basis for Christian fellowship is His agape love (1 Corinthians 13); the marks of a maturing church are faith, hope, and love (Colossians 1:3-7); a high emphasis is placed on the teaching of God's Word so that faith may grow (Romans 10:17); the church lives in anticipation of the return of Jesus as its blessed hope (Titus 2:13); and the fellowship desires the fullness of the Spirit in everyday life, since by love all will know they are His disciples (Galatians 5:22).
The Gospel message at the heart of ACF is drawn from Romans 6:23 - "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" - and John 3:16, that God gave His only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.
Leadership and Office
ACF is led by Governing Elders Alex Heater, Mike La Montagne, John Gilbert, and C.B. Fralich, joined by elders Terry Rowley, Greg Haga, Chuck Smoker, Jason Straube, and Ryan Burke. The church office is open Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 AM to noon and can be reached at (541) 899-8732 or staff@applegatefellowship.org. The fellowship maintains a livestream, a podcast library, and an online calendar of weekly Bible studies.
